22 rue Rivotte. Open Tue 12:00-14:00, 15:30-18:30, Wed 11:00-18:30, Thu-Fri 11:00-14:00, Thu 15:30-20:30, Fri 15:30-18:30.
Closed Sun-Mon.

Sooo delicious - Edit
It’s been years that Cocoëlle opened and it’s now an unavoidable location of Besançon, even for non-vegans. The place has now moved to Faubourg Rivotte, and now you can sit down there and enjoy drinks and food in an amazing retro decor. Do not miss it if you come to Besançon.

I had two pie slices and two cookies which were all great. Unfortunately I only had the chance to pay a quick visit for some takeaway just before closing time. They were out of a lot of options so it must be good. Kind people who speak English. Definitely recommend!

We got one of the desserts with yuzu and another one with rhubarb jam.

There were plenty of other pâtisseries and tarts to choose from.
They are open for business as mentioned in their social media; but note that there's no eat-in space.
The staff was friendly and mentioned that they're planning to have ice-cream and drinks soon.

Read moreWe have been here last summer and it was delicious. So we went again and we weren’t disappointed. The artfully made cakes and sweets are so beautiful you want to keep them intact. But this would mean missing out on the deliciousness. The owner is super nice and patient (because we couldn’t decide what to choose). When you are in Besaçon, you need to pay Cocoelle a visit.

Great Pastries & Coffee, Friendly Service and Cute Dog - Edit
We had Cappuccinos with hazelnut milk and the caramelized hazelnut Brownie that looked like a chocolate donut and the Buttercup with chocolate, miso caramel and pecans. Both were extremely rich and tasty. Talked a lot with the friendly owner and enjoyed time with her dog Kartoffel.

On a été ravi de trouver cette pâtisserie magnifique, c'est très rare de trouver les gâteaux vegan en France (hors Paris). Les gâteaux sont tres beaux et absolument délicieux, je recommande à 100 pour cent ! Amazing Vegan pâtisserie which will delight non vegans too, 100 per cent recommended, lovely owner too.

Woah ! J’ai été vraiment impressionné par les patisseries proposaient. Ma préférée était celle qui avait les pommes. Le biscuit était aussi vraiment top ! Merci de votre conseil aussi concernant ma visite de la ville. J’espère d’y retourner bientôt.

We were surprised by a great variety of cakes and muffins in a cosy little cafe. Most offers were not only vegan but also baked with gluten free flours.

Un tout petit shop, et de merveilleuses choses dedans : des pâtisseries vraiment innovantes, aérées et légères, une pâtissière accueillante et décalée. Une chouette découverte à Besançon, où il ne manque plus qu’une boulangerie végétale pour parfaire l’offre. Attention, en fin de journée vous risquez de ne plus voir de choix.

What a chance to have such a nice place in Besançon (and not only in Paris) !
Read moreThe bakery is completely vegan. The place is small but you can sit on 3-4 tables (and have a look at the vegan cookbooks available) or take-away. The owner is also nice and speaks english.
I tasted the red velvet cake (a bit too sweet for me but very fluffy), the yuzu-pear cake (delicious, one of the best pastries that I ate since I went vegan !) and the chocolate double cookie (also very good). Some cakes are quite original.
The pastries are not too expensive (but certainly not cheap). A good value for money I would say :-)
There are also hot drinks such as coffee or tea (from the organic French brand Les jardins de Gaïa) and syrups from a local producer with original flavors (as far I remember).
The location in the Rivotte neighborhood is great, close to the Vauban Citadelle and the city center.
Ps : the vegan restaurant "Gloria Mea Fides" is pretty close to the bakery.
I will surely come back to discover all the pastries from the bakery.
Pros: Completely vegan, Tasty and creative pastries , Local and organic drinks (at least some of them)
Cons: Sometimes too sweet ?

Les pâtisseries veganes sont juste à tomber... Mention spéciale pour la forêt noire qui est meilleure que la traditionnelle ! De plus, 2/3 voir 3/4 des pâtisseries sont sans gluten. L'endroit est certes petit mais agréable, et la gérante est très gentille. Vous pouvez aussi lui commander un gâteau pour une occasion spéciale, ou même des gâteaux aperos !

Very nice vegan bakery - Edit
Cute bakery with Pastries like tartellets, cookies and more. We had the clafoutis Ratatouille and a dessert wich were both very tasty. The owner is very friendly and speaks english.
