Very nice buffet-type lunch for a reasonable price

For 1,500y you get an all you can eat buffet with two mains (one was fish on that Monday, the other vegan soy meat), two types of rice, vegan miso soup, different veggies, salad and tea. The taste was very good and we were full for the rest of the day. Lunchtime ends at 2.30pm and you can check the menu online (vegan dishes are clearly labelled).

The staff is super nice and helpful. I do not fully get the reviews which state the little variety as it is not meant to be an European-style Asian buffet. We were super happy!

Home style Japanese cooking

Tasty Japanese food, the kind that you can cook easily at home. It may be a “buffet” but when I went had a very limited selection of food. More like a teishoku (set meal) that you can get second helpings of. I personally probably wouldn’t go again.

Pros: All organic, Mostly vegan , Food well seasoned

Cons: Buffet is very limited , Pretty basic food , Would be nice to have fruit or a small dessert

Vegan buffet?! in Tokyo?!

Super popular, was already lining up on a weekday before 11:00. To me, the food was really delicious. All you can eat salad, brown rice and miso soup, as well as main dishes that, on the day I visited, were all vegan. Everything tasted good and healthy, I felt full for the entire day basically. 10/10 would recommend, especially considering the price is great! I think it cost 1550 yen, which is so cheap for organic vegan food in Tokyo.

Pros: Reasonable price, Lots of delicious vegan options, Brown rice and miso soup were really good

Cons: Too crowded , Sitting area is not that great, Sells out way too early sometimes

Healthy and Wholesome

This restaurant is set up like a cafeteria, you pay first then go through the buffet and end up with a Japanese set-style lunch. Items are clearly marked if they are vegan or not (detailed information about the dish is provided on signs in Japanese). When I went (for lunch on a friday), there was only one nonvegan dish. The food is very vegetable centric and fresh; like much Japanese cuisine it focuses on the quality of the ingredients rather than spices or powerful flavors. You likely won't get a showstopping meal here, but its a good healthy lunch. The surrounding shop, while not entirely vegan, carries many vegan products/produce and is fun to look around!
If you're in the area, a stop by Sunday Vegan for donuts is worth it too!

Pros: Diversity of food, Cute surrounding shop

Cons: Not a lot of info in English, Pretty basic flavor-wise

Kind of a letdown

We were excited to eat at a buffet where most of the dishes were vegan! But there wasn’t much selection and the dishes that they did have were rather bland for the most part. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again. Be advised that it’s very popular— we arrived at 11 on a Friday, and by the time we left at 11:50, the restaurant was full.

Pros: All but one dish was vegan , I liked the vegan hamburg

5* this place should be exempt from the 4 star limit on non veg places!

An unassuming entrance leads into a beautiful decent through a jungle of plants and a magical haven from the concrete world around. Warm lights and a wooden aesthetic give the cafeteria like eating areas a welcoming feel, and the sunken kotatsu tables are a lovely experience. The buffet is full of a range of flavors and changes daily. There is only one non vegan savory thing and I hear their cakes are not vegan. A great experience. Come hungry with time to spare.

Pros: Connected grocery store with lots of vegan things

My favourite restaurant in Tokyo ♡

The restaurant is located underground of organic shops , book stores and organic supermarket. The restaurant offers organic lunch buffet , caffe time, and organic buffet dinner and izakaya.
I like to come here for the lunch buffet especially, each vegetable dish is simple but that enhances the taste of the original ingredients ♡ They have vegan and non-vegan choice so everybody can enjoy !

Pros: Main menus for vegan and non-vegan , Buffet menus can be checked on their website , Cute staffs and family (small kids) friendly ♡

Cons: They can be busy , You will eat too much

veg heaven!

Not only is the concept of vegan/veg new to Japan, but often times even finding a suitable place, it would be a concession of turning a meat+sauce laden, starch-based dish into a veg+sauce, starch-based dish. Veg, but still unhealthy.

On the day I went, the protein source was chicken (sadface) and chickpeas (phew!!). Maybe on Mondays, they would have more tofu? But there were a large selection of raw and cooked veg, soup, pickles, and 2 types of rice. Finally, I can get some vegetables without cooking it myself~

The setting is also quite nice, albeit quite busy. But it was not too loud and people are polite.

All the flavours are really nice, and the organic ingredients are a bonus. It isn't the cheapest meal, but if you want to avoid heavy carbs, this is the way to go.

Vegan Sanctuary

I love this place. My girlfriend and I just ate the buffet here and everything was super tasty! We sat in the alfresco area which is like a little oasis surrounded by plants. I wasn’t sure why this place wasn’t getting 5 stars ratings despite all the positive review but as it turns out 5 star ratings are only for fully vegan/vegetarian restaurants, (apparently they sell meat other days) otherwise I would have rated 5 stars. Come on a Monday and you won’t be disappointed!

Pros: All you can eat!, Entire buffet was vegan, Dog friendly alfresco area

Went on a non-Monday, vegan food still available and delicious

Was trying to go to the vegan restaurant across the street but it was closed (day after the typhoon). I was worried that the vegan options would be very limited, given that they only do vegan Mondays, but the vegan options were marked and the food was delicious.

We had a very tasty curry that came with roasted vegetables, and the spaghetti with the side salad. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Hopefully they transition to fully vegan.

Pros: Vegan options, Organic, Outdoor seating availability

Great buffet on Monday’s

Vegetarian buffet on Monday’s is a good deal and really nice options! Haven’t been on a day other than a Monday so can’t speak to that, but the grocery store attached is also fully stocked with vegan goodies

Large buffet

This organic restaurant offers a large buffet, where most of the dishes are vegan. The dishes I liked best were the homemade natto, the tofu meat balls, and aubergines and courgettes in barbecue sauce. Kind staff.

Pros: large choice

Good vegan and organic food

I went to Crayon House for dinner and was lucky because it was on Monday and Monday is Crayon House's vegan dinner day. So all the food was not only organic but also vegan. Choice between an all-you-can-eat buffet (2750 yens) and a dinner set menu (2160 yens). The set menu was big enough and quite good, though a bit more expensive than in other restaurants -- but this comes from the fact that the food here is organic.

Pros: Vegan and organic food, Good food and big portion

Cons: A bit pricy

Meat free Monday vegan buffet

Meat Free Monday Vegan Buffet is held every Mon. both lunch and dinner.
It is an organic veggie friendly restaurant.
The decor is like school cantine with a large counter, so easy to go in on your own.
The food is organic, simply cooked in Japanese home cooking style that suits the vegan sense of taste.
I used to like it when dinner price was 2000yen,
but now it is 2700yen.

Vegetarian / vegan Monday

I went to this restaurant on their special Vegetarian Monday buffet (all you can eat formule). The whole buffet was suitable for vegans (including salads, gyosa, soup, vegetables, rice...)
The food is good but let's be honest that's not refined cuisine , though I liked it.

Pros: Good value, Nice vibe

Meat free Mondays!

I have been here twice in recent weeks for the Monday lunch time buffet. 1500 yen for all you can eat, healthy and delicious meat free food (with clear allergen labels in Japanese).

On both occasions the buffet has had a variety of fresh salads, two types of potatoes (roasted/fried and mashed), a faux meat option (soy based), soup and coffee.

The food is amazing but what makes it special is the location. The outside seating area is simply beautiful, set below the street it is a quiet oasis filled with plants and lights. The perfect place to enjoy some great food on a sunny day.

It is also an organic shop if you need to pick up any vegetables or other goods!

There are a lot of families here but it is big and they mostly sit inside. There has been a small wait both times but the queue moves quickly.

Pros: Variety of healthy, clearly labelled food, Beautiful outside seating area, Shop and restaurant

hit and miss!

Went here with a gluten intolerant friend because they put labels on all the buffet dishes saying what's in everything, including meat, fish, dairy, eggs, wheat, etc. There were a lot of gluten free dishes and a lot of vegetarian dishes - about 70% for both.

The second time I went, there were fewer choices. Lots of stuff with fish, lots of stuff with wheat, and seeing as the buffet price is set (around 2000 yen), it wasn't worth it and we went across the street to Brown Rice Cafe.

Pros: labeled with allergens and meat/fish/etc, good location, knowledgable staff

Cons: expensive-ish, hit and miss menu, serves meat

Nice lunch, for decent price

We had lunch at the Crayon today, and I was quite happy with the place.
Get ready for a queue, lots of kids, but because the place is big it didn't really bother me too much.

I'm a pescatarian, and today there was only one dish that I couldn't have, a casserole with chicken, but apart from that they had like 5-6 dishes.
The food wasn't that fancy, like don't expect mango and melon salads or soy meat dishes on offer, but for ¥1200 all you can eat buffet I think it's really-really worth it.

They have a shop full with organic produce, I bought some dried soy meat, hope it's gonna be nice.

Pros: good value for money, friendly staff

Cons: I don't like the hippy 'no nuke' signs, but I gues

Nice buffet style place

I came with carnivores friends on a late evening. It is not very much of a dinner place but a nice place to eat a fresh, clean, healthy, and organic meal. As mentioned not everything is vegan/vegetarian but the staff will help you as much as they can to make you know what you are eating. Staff is very friendly. Since they weren't many people in the place while we were there, the staff arrange for me a variant of some of the main dish to be vegan. Nice attention. This place though is more of lunch place like many other vegan/vegetarian place around Tokyo.

Pros: Organic, healthy, fresh, clean, Vegan/Vegetarian friendly, Friendly staff

Cons: More of a lunch place

noisy and crowded but good

Crayon House is a good place to go for lunch if you happen to be in the Omotesando area. Their buffet consists of 8-10 items, usually of which at least half are vegetarian. As others have pointed out, the miso soup is not vegetarian but the ingredients of the dishes are usually listed (in Japanese) along with icons of meat/fish for those who can't read Japanese.

Be prepared for potentially long lines during lunchtime. There can also be a lot of children there because of the parenting facilities above. If you're looking for someplace quiet to eat, this might not be the best place.

Pros: local produce

Cons: noisy
