The Green Bistro was one of my favorite spots in Bilbao because they have vegan pintxos. Great pintxos but a very very very stressed out waiter that totally lost his [censored] with us just because we asked if the tapas were vegan.
Read moreHe ended up screaming because we had to ask more than once.
His words: ”what the [censored], they asked me four times of the food is vegan”.
He went screaming this through the restaurant. I’ve never been in a place with a more unfriendly waiter in my life.

Went for lunch with four friends. At the time (October 2018), the tapas on the bar included 12 vegan options. The ones we tried were delicious.

Hoxe fomos comer a Green Bistrot, ten moitas opcións veganas o cal nos gustou. Non nos gustou tanto o trato da camareira, que cando lle preguntamos se podíamos sentarnos a comer nos respostou que soamente os pintxos da barra (porque xa eran as 15:50PM). Asumimos esto sen problema, a nosa sorpresa foi cando mentres comíamos os ricos pintxos veganos, comezou a tomarlle nota da carta a outrxs clientes. Conclusión, os pintxos están ricos pero quedounos o 'mal sabor de boca' de non poder pedir directamente da carta e ver este feito minutos despois.

Mucha variedad de platos veganos, la calidad del producto se puede mejorar en cuanto a sabores. Probamos las albóndigas, el seitan, la paella de bulgur, el gazpacho, la ensaladilla de aguacate, la tarta de zanahoria y calabaza, el brownie y un par de batidos. Les recomendaría de manera constructiva, reducir platos de la carta y trabajar en conseguir un producto más sabroso o delicioso, o sea menos opciones pero de más calidad. El personal es correcto y el local también. Valoro mucho su esfuerzo por ofrecer platos para veganos.

Excellent spread of pinchos. Suitable for all diets - clearly labelled. Inviting cafe / bar atmosphere, spacious and quiet at about 5pm. The croquettas are a speciality and tasty, however others were okay but not great.

Came here for breakfast and they made me a sandwich. They have almond and soya milk. Came back for dinner and had a lovely soya burger. There’s lots on the menu so google translate came in handy.

I went 4 or 5 times and everytime I go the organization of the staff is worst. We continued going cause the croquetas are amazing and they used to have very nice seitan with white sauce, but last time i asked about it the waitress didnt know if they took it out of the menu or not.
Read moreLast time we went the croquetas were frozen inside, when we asked the waitress to change them she left, we thought she was very busy and she will come back: she didnt. When we were going out of the place we asked for take away a plate we didnt finish, and we remind them that the croquetas were frozen and that we didnt eat them. We thought they will discount them from the bill but once we arrive home we realized that they didnt, and that they just put the frozen croquetas to take away!
I think the menu is nice (even if is quite short) and the price fair for the location, but the staff makes you not want to go again.

We visited here as it was on my Happy Cow list of vegan friendly places in Bilbao. The vegan pintxos were great. You go up to the counter and basically point at what you want and how many - everything is clearly labelled. There were lots of different vegan options to choose from not just 1 or 2- all very tasty and good value. They work out at about between E1.50-2.50 per piece. we had 3 or 4 pieces each and that was plenty filling for lunch. Their A La Carte menu also looked wonderful but hard to decipher if you don't speak Spanish. There was prix fix menus too. I saw people at other tables having amazing and huge healthy looking salads and had serious food envy! We vowed to come back here later on in our stay and try and google translate the menu but unfortunately when we turned up on the last night it was nearly 10pm and the kitchen had closed. All in all a good café style restaurant that serves a very good and varied

The vegan options are very clear in the menu, also the vegan spanish tortilla was my top favorite. Also had different "tapas" and they where all delish. A must go when you visit Bilbao.

En su web comentan que son sitio de referencia en desayunos y que apuestan por la alimentación ecológica, vegetariana y vegana...solo nos pudieron ofrecer zumos y tostadas con rodajas de tomate por lo que creo que no deberían venderse como se venden porque es engañoso. El servicio bien, las chicas muy majas.

Read moreI am fluent in Spanish, they described an avocado salad with tomato tartar- I was so excited-- it came out and it was like a russian/potato salad. It was ok, but definitely not what I expected and not great.
My husband loved his tart thing but it had gluten.
Then the veggie burger thingies came-- and they were weird and bland, the "ketchup" was just tomato sauce light and no flavor & the chips weren't crispy.
They had no desert for me, but my husband was happy with the vegan brownie.
The woman at the bar was rude. The pinxos at the bar looked better than the menu del dia that we ordered from, but were sitting there the entire time and inevitably the taste suffers.
Since there aren't good options and the location is great, I would suggest you try but ask lots of questions first!
Pros: Tons of options, Know what vegan/Gluten means, Great location/Cute atmosphere

A real choice of food for veggies and vegans which frankly in Bilbao is almost unheard of. Ask for the menu and don't get sidetracked by the pintxos! Friendly service and the food was good and tasty. Vegan desserts too!

I went there hoping to get a proper meal but with so many vegan pintxos, clearly marked, I decided to get that instead. Great presentation and taste. Much cheaper than I expected for this kind of place. Totally recommend it!
