Good choice, great price - Edit
Our first stop when we got to KL hungry! The canteen is behind the temple, with access to the left hand side. There was a huge range of options on the buffet though nothing was labelled so our choices involved a lot of guess work. The price was very reasonable, definitely worth it for a filling lunch and lots of variety.

So Much Choice - Edit
Excellent (huge!) buffet, being regularly refilled as it was quite popular. Choose as much as you want and pay at the end depending on what you took. I can't recall how much it was as we were starving so handed over whatever they wanted to charge. It will have been entirely reasonable though.

So many great dishes - Edit
Absolutely loved this place, so many good dishes and cheap. Loved the different soy meat and tempeh. My omni partner also enjoyed it. We had two full plates and paid 26. Try the rice/seame balls also (with red bean cream or peanut), so good. They sell some other interesting items as well.

Vegan Colonialists Strike Again! This time the fancy vegan tourists put up this so called "traditional buddhist temple" right in the middle of KL in order to brainwash all the locals into the oppressive act of-- leaving animals alone.
Read moreYou'd think some concerned citizens would stand up for this obvious encroachment on local customs by anglo-european capitalists and their moral imperialism and put a stop to this place.
Feeding people cheap, vegan knock offs of otherwise delicious local Malaysian murder food should be against the law.
It's not just a personal choice, doing this sort of religious brainwashing makes people soft and compassionate, merciful and weak, and then how we will defend ourselves when the real colonists from outer space come to eat us? Bring back the bloodlust! Demand death in your food!
Lions not sheep, people!
Super sad. #Veganuary
Pros: not very popular, buddha ate meat, macdonalds nearby
Cons: zero murder food, communist style dining, brainwashed, am now vegan

Top spot in KL⭐️ - Edit
Amazing canteen-like lunch spot. Almost only locals and it is so cheap and tasty. Payed between 15 - 18 ringgit for a coconut juice, huge plate and some fruit/sweets. So many options and everything I tried was great. Love how it’s kinda hidden in the back of a beautiful temple. Could easily eat here everyday!

Eat like a local! - Edit
I went there today and tried about 10 different thing of which everything tasted good :). When I arrived one lady immediate came over and explained the dishes to me and reassured me that everything was vegan. Paid 12 MYR for a fully loaded plate. The place gave me canteen vibes and I think I was the only tourist at the time I went there, which was a nice change to many of the other rather fancy vegan options in town.

Great value buffet lunch - Edit
The logistics was all very easy and we grabbed a plate and started loading up. There was a vat of rice, various fake meats, a few bits of tofu, spring rolls and loads of veg.
Read moreWhen you've filled your plate it's time to head over to the cashier, who makes a slightly subjective assessment of what you've got on your plate and bills you accordingly. Mine came to 8.50 ringgits and Kate's was 8. Must have been the extra spring roll... and the extra ton of rice. This is obviously exceptional value for such a wide variety of dishes.
I feel like we've been spoilt the last few days food-wise so comparing a buffet to that is maybe a bit unfair. It's a great value option for a substantial meal and we enjoyed it.

Great food and experience - Edit
We had a great lunch here on my birthday. We arrived at about 11.30 and it was already starting to get busy. When you get there you go to the left of the building and there is a covered walk way which you follow to the back of the temple and this is where the food is. You go anti-clockwise around the room, pick up a plate and put whatever you like on it. Only take what you can eat as its important not to waste food. There is also a table with drinks and another with snacks on. Then to pay take the plate to the cashier (cash only). Cutlery is just past the cashier. I believe that you are charged according to how many different items you get so you will pay more if you get small amounts of lots of things than if you fill your plate with just a few options. Drinks and snacks are individually priced. When you have finished put your dirty plates and cutlery on the table (just watch where other people put theirs and follow what they do).
Read moreI tried to get a variety of foods including an aubergine dish, noodles, tofu and two mock meats. It was all really tasty, the mock meat in the sauce was my favourite. My husband is a picky eater so it was great that he could see the food before deciding what to have. I had a chrysanthemum tea which was quite sweet, I probably wouldn’t have it again but it was ok and I liked trying new things.
Our two plates, one tea and a pack of sesame cookies (which I had in place of a birthday cake 😂) cost just over 18 ringgits.
Pros: You can see the food before you choose, Very cheap, Fun experience

Vast Vegan buffet, welcoming people and delicious food! - Edit
A secret tip for vegans in town. The food is 100% vegan, and they cook something different every day. We had a mixed plate tasting almost everything, and it was all very delicious. We had tempeh, glazed tofu, steamed vegetables, curry and mock vegan meat - a delight!

What a buzz it is to be seated during midday rush hour lunchtime with around 300 other diners!
Read moreHumble, simple and plentiful food on offer. Lots of staff and volunteers make sure that the dining hall is well catered to and served promptly, by the mere fact that the buffet area is well distributed and constantly replenished.
The dining area is way off at the back of the Buddhist temple, from the outside gate check for the number 161 mounted on a plaque one right-hand side of the gated entrance.

So good! - Edit
Grab a plate and load it up with about 20 different options. I don't really know how the pricing works, but I piled my plate high with a little bit of everything and I got a drink and it cost 10RM. Everything was fantastic, especially the curry and what I think was sweet and sour seitan.
