Fave Vegan Place in MCO - Edit
After a month of working out of Orlando and trying every vegan only place on HC (that was open), I can happily say Dharma was my favorite. I was honestly a bit reluctant to try it as they really only advertise having chicken sandwiches, and as much as I like a vegan chicken sandwich, there is typically many other options I would rather use my calorie intake on. I decided to go as when I got off the flight I was pretty hungry and it was a relatively easy shot from the airport. The restaurant is in a pretty nondescript building in a residential neighborhood. The place definitely has a hole in the wall, but kitschy vibe.
Read moreLet me tell you these sandwiches are absolutely incredible. I went several times and in all I tried the buffalo, the Phish, the BBQ, and the Classic. I can’t decide if the Buffalo or the Phish was my favorite but both among the best of the best vegan sandwiches I have ever had. The only one I probably wouldn’t get again is the barbecue. Don’t get me wrong, it was really really good, I just think they have much better options.
If you’re in the neighborhood, I would say give them a try 110% . Heck, I would even make a trip out-of-the-way to go to Dharmas.

My Fav - Edit
Love Dharma it’s easily one of my favorite restaurants in Orlando and Tampa. They changed their menu a bit, but the new options are great. The orange bird used to be jackfruit years ago, but now it’s tofu. It was still delicious! The fried okra was not my favorite though. Everything else 10/10

Dharma - Edit
The staff was friendly, n had good recommendations, I tried the Nashville hot sandwich, n the fried Brussels. it was tasty, a bit too much mayo on the sandwich (slaw) but besides that it was delicious. I loved the flavor n crispness of the Brussel sprouts, but they were just a little too sweet for me, to be clear they weren’t really really sweet, I just prefer my foods savory over sweet. Def would recommend and go back!

inconsistent quality - Edit
i’m not going to lie, the quality in food has definitely gone down a little since they reopened - at this point, it’s really hit or miss. i first tried dharma when they reopened after a long closure and location change and i was very impressed by the quality and portion of food; lately, they’ve been a lot stingier with the portions and i’ve definitely noticed that the food is saltier and not as well-prepared. i’ve noticed a difference in quality (especially by the photos i’ve taken) starting from when they reopened, and nowadays i notice things like chick’n pieces that take up about half of the bun, smaller and soggier buns, extremely salty food, and the occasional burnt piece of food. the portions vary extremely, from just a few fried pickles and half a patty to a whole box of pickles and a packed sandwich; i don’t really know what im gonna get when it comes to any of
Read morethe items i’m ordering, and i’ve found it really discourages me from picking up food there. for example, the georgia peach sloppy joe is my favorite item there and i originally loved how much beef they piled on and the amazing flavor. the flavor is still there, but the last time i picked up from here the sandwich was barely filled and mostly bun; the sandwich was insanely salty too.
that being said, the workers are still nice and the food does taste pretty good. it isn’t as good as it used to be but it isn’t bad. for the price, however, i wouldn’t choose to pay this much for something that i know HAS been so much better in the past, even if i was willing to pay that much before.

Great vegan chick'n! - Edit
I initially went there to pick up my birthday cake from Valhalla bakery next door. Unfortunately they were closed, which was my fault for misreading their hours. However, there was Dharma! Me and my husband were hungry and decided to try them out. Wow, so yummy! They do have salads for those wanting to eat more wfpb. Great little spot for a quick bite.

Amazing BBQ and Mac N Cheese - Edit
Ordered and loved the BBQ chicken sandwich. It was tangy, sweet, savory from the BBQ sauce, onions, and pickles. The chicken was light and juicy. Its less flaky in texture than other vegan chicken, not sure what it is made of, maybe jack fruit? Tastes so fresh and well balanced. My absolute favorite was the side of mac n cheese. It was so creamy, well seasoned, a little crunchy from the toppings, and had a kick of heat from spicy paprika or cayenne. So delicious! Will be dreaming about the mac n cheese.♡
Read moreThe location is small counter service with tables outside.
Save room for dessert because there is a fully vegan bakery, Valhalla ♡ I grabbed some croissants to go.

Vegan Comfort - Edit
This place was worth the 45 minute drive! It’s full of all my favorite vegan comfort foods like fried chicken in several forms and flavors, fried pickles, Mac n cheese and sauces galore! Not much seating indoors but there’s outdoor seating as well. And to my surprise, an amazing vegan dessert shop shares the space 🤤 I ordered the Classic Chick’n and fried pickles. I’m loving the food and totally didn’t expect to find a place like this in Orlando.

Worth the trip! - Edit
Everything we tried here was amazing. Best vegan chicken I've ever tried! I was about halfway through the Caesar chick'n sandwich when I remembered that it was vegan. The GA peach sloppy joe was full of flavor, the brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked, the fried pickles were deliciously crunchy, and the cheesy hommies were awesome!

Birthday Lunch - Edit
Dishes ordered: Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, GA peach sandwich, Buffalo okra, brussel sprouts, and fried pickles with ranch.
Read moreBuffalo chicken sandwich was great the buffalo sauce has a strong vinegar flavor that I enjoyed but might not be for everyone. The chicken was very crispy and the bread very soft and fresh. I would defintely purchase again.
GA peach sandwich was the best item of the day. The sandwich was stuffed and flowing out. It was sweet and tangy reminded me alot of general tsos chicken but in sandwich form. I would defintely purchase again.
Buffalo okra, brussel sprouts and fried pickles all seemed overly greasy. I'm not sure if they were fried at too low of a temperature or left too long in the oil. The flavor didn't come from the sauces but the oil instead. It's unfortunate cause tasting the sauces alone they were phenomenal. I'm chalking this up to bad cooking technique then to their normal food flavor. I ended up bringing the sides home and trying to reheat in my airfryer which made the oil flavor release more. I ended up throwing the sides out unfortunately.
I would defintely recommend the sandwiches they were both fantastic, the sides I can't recommend from my experience unfortuntely.
My brought my dog with me he's a 2 year old yorkie. He was allowed into the restaurant and also in the patio area just outside the restaurant so defintely dog friendly. The inside of the restaurant is bar seating only and the outside seating in Florida may not be appealing to everyone. There is also parking on the side and front of the restaurant.
Valhalla bakery is also next door to Dharma but unfortunately was closed when I went. Turns out they are closed on mondays.
Overall I would recommend this restaurant for the sandwiches and take out until further improvements are made on seating.
FYI: The chickpea salad has been discontinued from the menu as a side dish and is now being served as a chickpea melt sandwich.
Pros: Delicious food, Great Customer Service, ample parking, Dog Friendly
Cons: Lack of seating , Greasy side dishes

Know what's good. - Edit
i ordered the cheesy homies, fries with honee mustard, and one kidz nugz with mac, and another with fried pickles.
Read moreThe kidz nugz and fries were amazing. You can't go wrong with the honee mustard. it's so good. the ranch was a bit too salty, though.
The mac and cheese was disappointing. It was pretty flavorless. I've made way better mac and cheese at home. It wasn't cheesy at all.
The fried pickles were good in concept, but they felt so heavy and greasy that it made me feel sick.
The home fries were good, but I didn't realize they'd have buffalo sauce on them, so they weren't very enjoyable because of that. (I hate buffalo sauce, lol)
overall, it has some really good things, but also some disappointing things. I just now know what I wouldn't get again. I really appreciated the BOGO deals on Uber Eats, though. Otherwise, I wouldn't have ordered it.
Pros: Vegan comfort food, AMAZING honey mustard
Cons: Lacking GF options, Menu isn't consistently tasty.

3.5 ⭐️ It’s gotten less good as the years have gone on. The taco with jicama slapped! And I liked the Mac and cheese but the consistency is just not there. I tried the biscuits and gravy last year and surprisingly loved it.

The last few times I’ve went the food has either been extremely salty or extremely bland. My Mac n cheese was literally like coconut cream with pasta.
Read moreOld review: We have been to lots of vegan restaurants and are slightly disappointed by the lack of all vegan restaurants in Florida. This place is just what central Florida needs and doesn't disappoint! We got the fried green tomato sandwich, the orange BBQ sandwich, and the mac n cheese and cheesy potato sides. We also got a gingersnap sandwich cookie and a cookies and scream donut.

Hurts to write this - Edit
This place used to be my absolute favorite, I’ve been going for years. I’d drive 30 mins to it consistently. Didn’t mind dropping $15 on the DFC Bowl, however the other plates didn’t do it for me. Service has never been the best though. Orders take forever and food comes out cold most days. Just seemed like it needed more structure. Some days the meal would be really good, others not so much. Anyway I’d still take the bargain because why not I love supporting vegan food and it’s convenient. However, last time I went they told me they don’t make the DFC bowl anymore WHAT!! I feel like that’s the most liked thing on the menu, definitely the most fulfilling for the price and flavor. But I’ll still go in to get the bakery items, those are good af💗
