Lots of great Thai options - Edit
The many vegan choices are clearly marked on the menu. The food is very yummy, and I always appreciate when the curries are vegan. It’s a small spot, but it’s become a regular stop for me when I’m in Chelsea.

Unassuming gem - Edit
Leslie and I came here on 8/13/24. The place is small and unassuming. We ended up sitting in the window seats at a long bar table. The food was unquestionably delicious. We described it as “Nom, nom, nom!”
Read moreOur order: Thai iced tea with oat milk. Tofu satay with peanut sauce and sweet pickle relish. Dumplings with sweet soy dipping sauce. Mussaman curry with vegetarian duck and white rice. Pad med mamuang with fried tofu and white rice. Yum! Nice playlist set the upbeat urban country groove.

Wish I could give 5 - Edit
This is now one of my absolute favourite restaurants in town. I see some mixed reviews and I don't know if service got switched up recently, but we've only had the loveliest service. But the FOOD oh my gosh. I'm in love with the Massaman curry (which can be made vegan), the impossible Gra Prow is spectacular, as is the Khao soi. But Holy Lord, those curry puffs!! You guys. Mind blown. I dream about those curry puffs. My husband and I took one bite and just stared at each other like "... are you tasting this??". The tofu satay is also a fav. We have already gone here a ton and it's a pretty new discovery 😂 Definitely give it a try!!
Read moreAlso, wait times can be long! Like 30-45min long! It's a tiny space and it seems to be popular. Please be nice to the servers because they've got a tough gig.
And lastly, one of the owners (or maybe a manager) told us that Glur means friendship in Thai. Very lovely ❤️🌱

Decent - Edit
This is a small, waiter-served/silverware but un-fancy Thai restaurant. Note that most Thai restaurants use fish sauce in all their food, so unless a Thai restaurant specifically is labeled as vegan/vegetarian or has various items specifically labeled as vegan/vegetarian, you should assume that the food uses fish sauce. Happily, this place has a number of items that are explicitly labeled as vegan.
Read moreI ordered the Vegan Khao Mun Gal Tod (with faux chicken). My food tasted fine, and I have no complaints, though I have had better vegan Thai food elsewhere in NYC.

In NYC (of places that are still open), the best is May Kaidee. Vegan-friendly places that are good include Thep Thai, A Plus , Mrs. An Thai (all Upper Eastside), Thai 72 (Upper Westside).

Love May Kaidee! Gonna keep the other places in mind for the future. Thai food is my fav.

I look forward to seeing your reviews of these places😄(I always read and enjoy your HC reviews, which I find very insightful).
Read moreNB: When you go to a Thai place and they have a dish that is not listed as vegan, watch out, since it will probably use fish or oyster sauce. Unfortunately, I have even found Thai places mistakenly listed on HC (which I have then asked to be removed) that use fish sauce in all their dishes
Also, unless I am stuck, I avoid any Thai place where to make the food vegan, you need to ask that they omit the fish sauce: good vegan food should be crafted holistically, and not be a dish that is conceived as using meat or fish but then with something left off.

I enjoy reading your reviews too😄I avoid eating at non-vegan places as much as I can but sometimes there are no other options nearby. So I agree, it sucks when the vegan option is just an afterthought.

Delicious vegan mock meat options - Edit
I love this place! The khao soi with vegan duck was so good but the real highlight was the larb salad with Impossible meat - larb is one of my favorite salads, and it was a delight to have such a delicious vegan option! They have so many great vegan options. Would give them five stars if I could.

Awful service - Edit
The food was great but I had an absolutely awful service encounter and will not return. We got the pad thai with the daring chicken which was really flavorful. The vegan larb was good, but just impossible rice and meat - would’ve liked some veggies to make it a full meal. FYI they put an automatic 18% tip on your card even for small groups, without notifying you, so check the bill if you don’t want to double tip.
Read moreWith a reservation, we had to wait almost an hour to be seated and had very negative interactions with antagonistic staff. Although I made the reservation days prior, they seated two large groups who had called earlier that day. They even left the tables empty while we were standing there, waiting for all members of the other parties to arrive. When I was annoyed they changed the story and said they don’t take reservations on Fridays so the person I talked to on the phone must’ve been confused.
Before we could sit, standing in the rain, we were asked to put in our orders since the kitchen was about to close. We paid in cash and the server was angry that we didn’t provide enough cash for her to take 18% off while running the bill and even argued with us about that (although when paying in cash you leave the tip on the table *after* paying the tab…)
Don’t come here unless you’re ok waiting an indefinite amount of time for food, and don’t even bother making a reservation.

Vegan restaurant with a good choice of vegan food - Edit
Small Thai restaurant with a good choice of vegan food. We had crispy tofu, spring rolls, sticky rice and a huge plate with noodles and crispy “duck” (vegan, of course). Not so much expensive. very friendly staff

Awesome, fresh food - Edit
Been coming here since they opened years ago. The owner, Chad, is lovely and very supportive of plant-based recipes which I find rare in Thai cuisine. I often end up craving the vegan dishes here although I’m not a full-time vegan eater. They don’t use fish sauce here and instead bring flavors through mushrooms. It’s well-done and you feel good after you eat a flavorful meal here.

Best Vegan Thai food in nyc - Edit
Where do I even start with this restaurant. I’ll probably start by letting you know that Thai food is my favorite food it’s the one thing that I never get tired of and come back for every single time. So when I tell you that glur is the best Thai food in New York City know that I’ve tried almost every other Thai restaurant and loved it but I still keep coming back to glur. I am so tired of restaurants just removing fish sauce from their curries and saying that they have vegan options glur goes out of their way to let vegans try authentic Thai food with interesting flavors and I am so grateful they do this. This would be a five star review if purple carrot would let me.

The vegan options were well marked and enticing and additionally the options were more diverse than typically found on Thai menus in nyc. Really excellent food. Heated outdoor dining. I’ll definitely be back to try the other vegan options.
