Fresh out of my light meal at Emira, I was meaning to continue at HAPPA, a place I had heard good things about. Alas, it was closed for a private event. I barely had time to feel the disappointment when I realised there was an equally valid option just next door. I entered Golden Ginkgo and, while I can't say I was all that curious to try the food, their fried ice cream did catch my attention indeed. It was as good (and as interesting) as I thought it would be.

I did not order the right thing - Edit
I asked for a recommendation because I’d never eaten there before. For sushi they recommended one of the menu sets but didn’t really help me decide. I went with Menu 5 which had seitan maki and a roll that had tofu and some things with avocado. I don’t really like avocado very much but figured the other things would be enough. My friend got the curry with veggies and seitan. My order came is miso soup that was good, but I did not really care for the sushi I got and most of it was avocado. The seitan maki did not have much flavor at all. The tofu roll was fried, not my favorite, but it did have a little flavor from the sauces. My friends curry was not bad and the veggies were fresh. He tried their soy latte and said it wasn’t good. It was served in a glass with no handle so it was too hot to even touch. He did not finish it. Overall I was pretty disappointed, but I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to not ordering the right thing for my taste. I’m not sure if I’ll be back.

I never thought that I would get to eat sushi like that😭 just MIND BLOWING!!! 💖 plz folks go to check it out!! the sushi with vegan salmon and avocado was eeepic 💞 also the dumplings were delicious and miso soup was nice too. tho the definitive star of the show was the sushi with vegan fish🌟 I love how the rice is so fluffy and delicious and the wasabi is perfect. i’m just speechless!!! 🥰🥰🥰

One of the best Curries - Edit
I had a japanese curry with vegan duck. It was absolutely amazing. My expectations were somehow not that high but I totally enjoyed it. The sauce was thick and tasty. The vegan duck was crispy with sesame seeds on top. The vegetables and the rice were well cooked.

An awesome 100% vegan restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and great portion sizes. I tend to think restaurants do nice food but small portions. This certainly filled me up. Staff are really friendly, and the great decor adds to the appeal. Definitely one to visit again when I'm next in Berlin

Read moreA beautiful restaurant with fantastic staff, is nothing next to the quality of the food that was served. The salmon is almost indistinguishable from the real thing, flavours well balanced and presentation sublime.
The restaurant had background ambient music but, as someone who has sensitivity to a lot of noise, was low volume yet audible and made the session very enjoyable.
The price is what I would call fair, 2 G&T and a mountain of sushi was a little under 65€.
100% would recommend.

Beautiful place, very friendly staff and absolutely fantastic vegan sushi variations that go beyond cucumber and avocado. One of the absolute best I've had so far! Very new business as well, owned by a business lady who knows exactly what she's doing. Big thumbs up 👍🏻

Delicious and special all vegan menu. We had the ramen with duck, fried sushi with salmon and avocado and some dumplings and all of it was outstanding. As a dessert we had the fried ice cream with raspberry and passionfruit - one of the best desserts we ever had!!
