Tasty variety of food, but GF is noticeable

I enjoyed the zucchini tarte and Caesar salad for lunch, both were flavorful and satisfying. The muffin has good flavor but the texture was almost as it were raw, I assume a compromise from being gluten free. Will visit again but probably not for a muffin

Healthy fast food style place

Good sugar gives you a quick and healthy dinning experience. Their offerings range from energy bits, juice shots, desserts and full meals. However the seating is limited especially during high traffic hours so they make it convenient to take away. I visited during a talk and received free samples of the lemon, ginger and cayenne power drink and multiple desserts. The drink was a hit and definitely felt that it decongesting however the desserts lacked a bit of sweetness.

Pros: Range of afferings, Sustainable, return jars get credit for next order

Nice food, lovely staff

The concept is cute and I like the pro-vegan messaging inside. I like the fish-market feel of getting your drink from an iced tray a lot.

I guess in terms of food I was hoping for more variety in a brunch sense - most of it is very sugary as the name implies.

If you want more of a cute sit-down brunch, it's provably not your best bet, as it's more fast health food - but it was nice to sit and interact with some of the locals as they popped in and out (a nice lady gave me a rose).

Amazing concept, food was ok

Not got coffee on a cold day was tough and nothing is customizable - which means it’s all premade. Their baked goods were so good but the burrito I got was just ok.

Definitely try this place

Probably best “fast” food restaurant I have ever been. Vegan, organic and plastic free!
The branding could have been toned down - like the music. Was not comfortable eating in. #Veganuary

Great Breakfast place

We got two smoothie bowls (acai and chocolate), a burrito and a juice. Everything tasted good and the staff was very friendly!

A Vegan Juice Spot on the Upper East Side

I was very impressed with this place's decorations. However, the food was just okay. It was nice to have a breakfast vegan spot on the upper east side, and I'm happy that they have some gluten free options. The banana bread sample was pretty good. I got a kale caesar salad, which was okay. The chickpea croutons were very disappointing. My husband had a burrito that was okay. They do have a bunch of juices, but unfortunately you can't order your own juices. They seem to be all remade.

Pros: good to have a juice spot on the UES, nice decor, good to have gluten free options

Cons: no options to create your own juice , it is on the pricier side, they could be more creative with their food

There's a new sheriff in town

I am familiar with Goodsugar from one of their downtown popups; I am happy to see a more permanent location on the UES. Goodsugar is sort of like a juice place (it was created by the person who founded Juice Press), except it also offers salads, soups, etc. in addition to juices, smoothies, and bowls. This place is mostly for takeout, though there are some seats (but no restroom).

The food here is all vegan and organic, not pasteurized, and very healthy. The pastries and juices are more hearty than what is typical, not over-sweet. I am a big fan of Juice Press, but this place admittedly raises the bar; there is nothing else quite like this in the area.

Pros: Healthy, organic, all vegan

Cons: Mostly for takeout, not for relaxed dining
