Worth trying - Edit
It's probably the only place in the center of Athens where you can get vegan pastry. It's a bit overpriced and all sweet options have too much sugar (but that's in general in Greece).

Fully vegan bakery w/ good food & friendly staff - Edit
A great place for a fully vegan brunch or lunch. We had the salmon and cream cheese bagel, with homemade vegan salmon made from carrot, which tasted amazing. The Dubai chocolate croissant was excellent and the espresso martini and cucumber and mint kombucha (from a can) were also good. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English (even correcting each other on the correct pronunciation of cucumber 😂). The facilities were very clean too. Fully recommended!

Great spot for breakfast or lunch - Edit
A small cafe/restaurant with some great options for sandwiches and desserts. I’d recommend going there for breakfast or lunch. Very friendly staff and clean interior. Not a ton. of space to sit inside, each time we came they were full (good that they get lots of business) so we sat on the veranda which was a bit chilly even with the space heater.

Bola som tam na raňajky. Všetko bolo skvelé, aj sladké aj slané raňajky. Veľmi chutilo aj mojim nevegánskym priateľom. Veľmi milá obsluha, príjemná atmosféra. Všetko bolo super.

No Worry-Beads Required...!!! (LOL!) :D - Edit
A short walk from Syntagma Square, Holy Llama is (vegan) Manna from Heaven! As one of Athens' most highly-rated (100% vegan) restaurants, naturally we had to give it a shot. Located on a street that also houses an upscale vegan restaurant in a hotel, a vegan café right across the street (which we've never seen open), and a natural/organic market (also across the street), Holy Llama offers covered open-air seating out front, and a banquet-style bench with a few tables and chairs, inside a bright and inviting interior, with glass displays of a myriad of both sweet and savory pastries and pies (including salad bowls, sandwiches, and such). The first time there, I had their BLT(A) sandwich (which also came with an incredibly fresh seasonal salad dressed in a light vinaigrette. The sandwich, served on sourdough toast, was scrumptious; the tempeh "bacon" awesome. Second time there, I went with the Steak Croissant Meal, which included BBQ tempeh, along with side of dressed greens. Again, the meal was super. My better-half went with the Udon Noodles (bowl), which I had a sampling: Yum! For takeaway, we did the Wild Herbs Galette (spinach), and a Kuru Mushroom pie (both mighty mouth-watering!); miso-caramel cinnamon rolls (Wow!); a Praline "Cruffin" (Woah!); and (what I consider their crème-de-la-crème) their divine Wonder Wheels--one pistachio; one vanilla-caramel. OMG, To Die For!!! To help wash down our sit-in lunches, the glasses of Saveur white wine hit-the-spot. AND, if all that wasn't Heavenly enough, the gals who man the whole shebang were just the friendliest folks you could've asked for!!! The entire enterprise made Holy Llama at the pinnacle of our culinary adventures in all of Greece!!! We've got another week in Athens, and you can bet your house that we will be back...!!! Yes, exclamations abound for this one...!!! 😄 (And, too, they popped us a beautiful on-the-house dessert--I don't know what it was called--that was the perfect exclamation point to our fabulous lunch.)

…that was amazing!!!
Read moreAthens is more and more becoming my vegan heaven, and the Holy Llama Bakery/Confectionery is playing a big role in that.
I can’t remember the last time I’ve been in such a high class bakery in my life, neither since I became vegan nor before that. The pastries there were nothing less than magnificent.
Such baking class has its price. Holy Llama is definitely one of the more expensive places, but it’s really worth it’s money.
Apart from pastries, they also serve classic breakfast and brunch dishes. We haven’t tried those, but they all looked pretty good as well.
It will definitely not be the last time I’ve visited this place, that is for sure!
Edit: Been there now multiple times and still love this place so much!!!

Don’t miss this - best breakfast in Athens! - Edit
What a stunning collection of pastries! I tried quite a few and they’re all delicious. Favourites would be the different flavour croissants, they really nail these - some vegan ones can be dry but these are just perfect. Wonderful coffee here also.

Pure heaven. Honestly one of the best bakeries I’ve ever been to — vegan or not. Everything we tried was absolutely outstanding. We had two small cakes (one of them the Mont Blanc), croissants, and pistachio wheels, and every single bite was perfection.

Decadent & delicious treats! - Edit
Had coffee & cake twice here during our Vegan Athens trip. Average coffee, but great cakes and lovely service! I had the red confessions, which hid a decadent & delicious chocolate mousse under its colourful cover. One of my friends had the almond croissant and said it's the best she's ever had.

Amazing pastries! It's a must try🔥 - Edit
Their vanilla caramel wonderwheel was huge, reasonably priced and super delicious! It had plenty of filling inside and was not overwhelmingly sweet. It was enough for 2 people in our case. Everything looks great in the shop, we wish we could try more.
