Amazing Ferrero Rocher Croissant! - Edit
Really lovely modern minimalist interior.
Read moreI didn't realise they have a menu!! It's not on the wall, and the block of wood that has the QR code on it was hidden further along the counter. I would have probably preferred to order something freshly made.
Anyway, I ordered a few things from the counter including the quiche consisting of broccoli, leek, mushroom, caramelised onion, and vegetable cream. It had a very good quiche texture and taste, but I could only taste mushroom.
The puff dog was very good, still a bit crispy but not hot.
The Like a Pizza was nice and doughy, but very bland, certainly no pizza flavour. I really wish it was hotter and/or crispier! I had asked if they could heat these items up, but they said it was warm and couldn't be heated up more, which was very disappointing as I found it all barely lukewarm.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the Ferrero Rocher croissant. It was soooo good! Crispy and airy pastry filled with chocolate cream, and topped with a delicious hazelnut cream, and a lightly caramelised hazelnut. Both the creams were of a light texture, and the perfect level of sweetness (not too sweet or rich).
Pros: Ferrero Rocher croissant for sure!
Cons: cabinet items were lukewarm and can't be heated up, menu is not prominently displayed

AMAZING! - Edit
We got the almond croissant and the pistachio pastry- both absolutely amazing. My partner (not vegan) loved his and said it’s one of the best almond croissants he’s ever had! I had to put mine in my bag all day while we walked round Acropolis and it was still flaky and delicious afterwards. Prices are great too!

Best breakfast - Edit
This place deserves 10 stars! It’s the best vegan breakfast we ever had! Must try while in the area. Not sure why it’s marked as bakery on Google and even restaurant itself doesn’t have info about food menu on the board, but they have way more stuff than just pastries.

Yummy lux bakery - Edit
I couldn't believe my eyes when I looked in the bakery display, so many awesome choices and all vegan. It was hard to choose between mushroom pies, croissants and quiche. I went with quiche, then I saw the table service menu which also all looked amazing, but I had made my choice already. The coffee is divine, extra shots for strong coffee not a problem. All drinks served in clay cups, which helps keep them cool. I also had the green juice which is everything I needed on a hot day. I'm going to try a hazelnut thing for dessert, because it looks so good, I can't not. A little bit pricier than I expected, but the food is organic and very good quality. Extra charge for table service on bakery items and drinks.

A must visit for anyone visiting Athens! - Edit
This is our second time in Athens and we were so excited to try Holy Llama. Their bakes and cakes are unlike anything you’ll find anywhere else. We didn’t try their sandwiches or salads but will definitely be back for one in the future.

So delicious - Edit
6/26/2023 - If it’s Monday, it must be…Athens! We just had the best breakfast and coffee at Holy Llama, a little all-vegan bakery. Croissant hot dog (you know, to get your proteins at breakfast), chocolate croissant, and a sharp, sweet espresso. I’ve never had anything as good as this in my vegan dining adventures—and there’s so much more on the menu to try. Totally worth the hot sweaty walk over.
Read moreOur stay in Athens was unexpectedly extended, and being able to try out Holy Llama is a serendipitous benefit — oh the fun of travel with an open schedule.
Free wifi, very clean, very helpful staff, very good service.
Pros: Quality, flavor , Service , Spotlessly clean
Cons: Price

We both had the babka and coffee (americano for him, freddo cappuccino for me). Everything was delicious. I was counting on helping him finish his babka but he surprised me and barely left a crumb behind!

The best vegan pastries I’ve had - Edit
This place is amazing, we were in Athens for 3 days and went back there every single day. Their BLT and open mushroom sandwich were absolutely incredible and we tried several pastries which were all amazing too and great coffee also. Staff were all absolutely lovely!

Delicious vegan pies! - Edit
Our last stop before heading back to the airport, but definitely a good one!
Read moreI took a pie with mushroom and tomato sauce and a pie with mushroom and "cheese", and my husband only took a slice of lemon cake.
Both pies were absolutely delicious, with a well-flavored filling and definitely not too dry as far as the crust is concerned.
The lemon pie was very moist and equally delicious.
Would have loved to try bigger meals here, but there simply wasn't enough time anymore.
Pros: Many options to choose from, Friendly staff, Delicious pies and cake

Really torn… - Edit
I really wanted to like this place. Being the only dedicated vegan place, we could find in Athens we were very excited. Upon arriving, we ordered the carrot cake, an almond wheel, and a chocolate item in the shape of the singer. We took everything back to our accommodations to enjoy later.
Read moreI believe our first item is just a difference in how Europeans eat carrot cake versus Americans. The frosting on the carrot cake was very sour for a cream cheese frosting. We are used to a sweeter frosting and it really made it not enjoyable for us. The almond wheel Was lacking as well. I did enjoy the chocolate dessert and would have it again.
Pros: Everything is vegan

Cozy Cafe with Great Food and Coffee - Edit
This little cafe is perfectly located between several other vegan/veggie spots! It’s got a great atmosphere with a wonderful menu. I got the french toast and a latte. I usually don’t like lattes without a bunch of sugar, but this one was fantastic! I also really loved the ceramic dishes with the cute lama imprint. Adorable!

Incredible pâtisserie - Edit
We were recommended Holy Llama as 'the best vegan café in Athens' and they were not kidding! Look at the layers of lamination in that pastry - absolutely to die for. The pastries are buttery, flaky, beautiful. It is pâtisserie prices (read: cheaper to take out, but still more expensive than your average coffee shop here) but it is worth every cent. The coffee is strong, the pastries are fresh, and the service is excellent.

Best bakery in the world!!! - Edit
I haven’t been all over the world, but I feel like this is a safe candidate for best bakery in the world. Went once and came back the next day because it was unreal. I honestly can’t believe it’s vegan, the croissants are the best thing I’ve ever tasted!! Everything amazed us, well worth the price, and a cute little patio in a nice area with friendly staff. Wish I could have brought it all home with me!!

Favorite Vegan place in Athens - Edit
This is the ultimate vegan bakery plus brunch restaurant you must visit while in. Athens. The menu is updated very often so you always have something new to try. My personal favorites, chocolate cake and vanilla cookie, both sugar free, the soya yogurt bowls, local dish named kayanas - eggy taste, tofu scrambled, babka. Don’t miss trying the homemade pies and the month’s special edition croissant.
