Tasty food - Edit
We went here for my mum's birthday as she'd been wanting to go for months. She wasn't disappointed! We had the curry goat, caesar salad, fried chicken and gravy, and the bacon mac and cheese. The food was full of flavour. My only complaints with the curry goat was that there was relatively little "goat" (seitan) in it and the fried cabbage portion was tiny and barely fried. There was a big space on the plate that looked like something (more greens?) was missing. But it was very tasty and filling.
Read moreWe went early on a Sunday evening and there were several things off the menu, which felt a bit restrictive when there aren't loads of choices in the first place.
For dessert we shared the caramelised banana cake and the chocolate pimento festivals (they were the only options). The cake was great, if a little small, and the festivals were OK - they were very dense and not sweet, and the sauces didn't quite make up for it.
The prices also seemed very steep for what you get. It was a birthday treat so not a problem this time, but it would be the thing that stopped me going back regularly if I lived closer.
The service was good and the staff were lovely.
Pros: Lots of flavour, Staff
Cons: Price, Location away from central London, Chairs that you bash your elbows on!

Lovely food, a bit pricey! - Edit
Food was 5 stars, I had the oyster mushroom fried ‘chicken’ with mash and gravy. The service just let it down, took 50 minutes to get my starter and I was a table of 1. They were very busy so I didn’t mind too much. It did feel quite expensive, even for London prices (forgot to take pictures)

Amazing all around - Edit
The fish tacos were superb. They were better than what I've tasted in Mexican restaurants. The fried chickn and mash with gravy is very hearty and delicious as well. The batter is slightly spiced, well flavoured, and it wasn't greasy at all. 10/10

Our first Caribbean experience - Edit
Our first time eating at a Caribbean restaurant. We had the roti and fish tacos to start, chicken, gravy and mash, and the goat curry for mains. The fish tacos were absolutely amazing and our favourite thing we tried. The ‘goat’ in the goat curry was an amazing texture and the curry was so so flavourful. The batter on the fried chicken was very tasty. Our only criticism would be that with the chicken at times the batter was quite thick with not much mushroom inside and the gravy itself didn’t have much flavour compared to the rest of the meal (but the chicken was so flavourful it wasn’t needed). We ate quite early (5pm) and it was already quite busy, and it took awhile for our mains (though we didn’t mind as we were enjoying sitting), but something to bare in mind if you didn’t have much time to sit. We had a lovely experience here though and would definitely return.

Nice Caribbean food - Edit
We got 2 mains and 2 sides, they were really nice but would have preferred a little less spice. The mac and cheese was perfect. The menu is quite small and we tried everything we would of wanted to so unless the menu changed we probably wouldn't return. It took a really long time for the food to come out and I feel like it was slightly overpriced.

Lovely birthday meal - Edit
A Great vibe on a Sunday evening. The cocktails were actually very balanced in terms of sweetness and alcohol ratio which is great for a London restaurant! The food quality is exactly as positive reviews describe- full of flavour and great portion sizes.

Amazing vegan Caribbean food - Edit
Amazing food and great atmosphere. We both had Caribbean fried 'chicken' with Jamaican gravy. The fried 'chicken' was oyster mushrooms and the flavours were incredible. Want to come back here soon and try the sharing plates!

So yum - Edit
Went for a meal and really enjoyed all the food. For starters, shades fish tacos which really tasted like fish and loved all the flavours together. The mains, me and my bf shared the fried chicken and the curry goat. Both were good but especially the fried "chicken" (oyster mushroom), which came with really creamy mash, beans which were delish and gravy which had so much flavour. Dessert we had the banana cake which was so good.
Read moreThe staff were nice and attentive and friendly although I think I would have preferred slightly slower service for a more relaxed experience as the starter plates were taken immediately as food was finished, while I was still chewing my food and the dessert came out really quickly after the main. A little bit of waiting time between courses would have made it seem less rushed but it was efficient!.
Pros: Amazing flavours, Creative dishes
Cons: Slightly rushed

Might not be to everyone’s taste - Edit
Caveat: first time ever eating Caribbean food, so I don’t know how this compares with other options.
Read moreOverall our experience was good, but not fantastic. Felt a bit too much like home cooking for the London restaurant prices.
Good: cocktails were interesting and strong. Service was good. Food was overall tasty and serving sizes for the mains were generous.
Bad: entres were a bit heavy on oil. The jerk chicken was very heavily spiced (not chilli heat, but spice flavour), put together with the also strongly spiced jolof rice I found it a bit too much. Greens on the side helped tame the flavour a little.

Vegan Food at it's very BEST! - Edit
Visiting from Hawaii (with our son who lives in Paris, FR), this was our best meal ever here in London. The food was great .... and service by Marta and our server (Angel?) was almost as exceptional as the well seasoned share plates and large dish we shared as a family of three! - Ewa Malia

Great food but difficult booking experience - Edit
The first time I went to Jam Delish it was newly open, so a lot of things have changed over the years: the decor and menu are now completely different... as well as the booking system.
Read moreI was surprised to see a steep £25 fee per person if we modify or cancel less than 48 hours before the booking time (you have to enter your card details), but we went for it anyway. Unfortunately, one of us had to cancel and because he told us only 40 hours before, it was a real faff to make a change. The restaurant told us we would be charged if we cancelled, but they would still give us the possibility to postpone the booking to another day (only once though, otherwise we would be charged too).
It really is a shame because I now know that non-vegan friend (who accepted to give this vegan restaurant a try for the first time) will never accept to renew the experience. Maybe consider reduce the fee (£25 pp is too high) and the notice (24 hours should be plenty?).
Food wise, we loved everything we ordered. It's on the pricey side for sure, but portions are decent.

Delishhh - Edit
Finally got to go to the restaurant after missing JD food at the vegan markets for a while! All the food was delish, the staff were lovely and service was great. The flavoured butters with the roti were especially divine, as was the goat curry, and literally everything else we ate. Can’t wait to go back and try more .)

High pressure booking, food underwhelming - Edit
I booked a table for 4 and felt quite anxious with the conditions whereby you need to cancel 48 hours in advance if you want to avoid 25£ per person penalty for no shows. I had to re-confirm the booking twice which just increased the pressure. One of my friends was more than 15 minutes late, and this was a stress point for the restaurant and we had to order for him, which he wasn't that happy about. And we were told our table would be needed in two hours but because we ordered late we wouldn't have time for dessert. (With 35 minutes remaining). The waitress returned and said we'd have time after all so that was good and then at the end most of the restaurant was empty so we didn't need to vacate the table and we stayed a lot longer. The food was OK but I went with non vegan friends and they didn't like either the fishy or the goaty meat analogues. I tasted them and they were ok, not great, but I'm not a fan of a lot of meat analogues anyway. The desserts were decent portions, but my friend didn't like the mango tart so much as it wasn't 'tart' like lemon. I got that it was mango, and it wasn't terrible, but the fruit garnish was a bit tough. So overall not a great hit with my friends and for me the food was underwhelming, and on the pricey side. I wouldn't put myself through the booking stress again. All this said, the waitress was charming.
