Creative, delicious food

They have brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. The menu changes every weekend. I got the chicken-fried pumpkin with coleslaw on toast. It was delicious. I have had been different substitute for chicken over my time as a vegan, but this was by far the most creative. I really enjoyed it, and I wish I could stay in Oahu longer to go here several more times. They had have a variety of packaged food items you can take to go. They do use a lot of plastic for this.

Pros: All vegan, delicious, affordable

Cons: Not a lot of seating

My "goto" local vegan spot

We love Juicy Brew! When it comes to weekend or Sunday breakfast out, this is where we go. I go to the Halepawa'a location often as well for take out and my golden milk latte. They use and support local organic ingredients and local grown plants like Ulu (breadfruit), taro, even ulu waffles with coconut cream. Loco moco vegan style with greens is the bomb, soba noodle salad for take out as well as breakfast burrito, breakfast sammie and really ono tofu musubi and tofu poke with local warabe fern. Pad thai noodles heated up is so good too. I could go on because there is much more variety of really good food, but basically a must try! Good coffee selection and other beverages. They also make their own breads and are so delicious!. When they have "toast" on the menu, get it! Always different. This is how local grinds should always be! The staff are super nice and helpful. These people work there butts off to bring us fresh locally sourced local grinds and we are GRATEFUL!

Pros: All vegan , 2 locations serving! Halepawa'a and Kaimuki, Staff is awesome!

Cons: Parking in Kaimuki is challenging at times., Kaimuki location needs AC.

Weekend Brunch

They have a wide variety of delicious pre-made bentos during the weekdays but you MUST go for their weekend brunch! The menu is always changing so you never get bored of their food. They usually have different flavored waffles, toast, and other amazing brunch items using local produce. Their mochi and cookies are so so good as well!

Pros: Uses local produce

Yum!

I went there twice on my trip to Honolulu, both times our food and drink was great. I ate there for a Sunday brunch and it was out of this world good. We also ate there for lunch and had the pad Thai and meatless meatloaf. My fav was the meatless meatloaf but both were great. I also had the chai ale and OMG good! I am not soy free but I try not to eat much and another customer came in asking for food without soy, they only had one or two options.... Once while I was there I was alone with my 15 month old son and the staff was extremely helpful with napkins and my son throwing toys on the ground and such, super sweet of them. The prices were not cheap by any means but I didn’t find them out of line. The only real negative for me is the normal food is not made to order it is pre-made in a deli case in front. Sunday brunch was made to order and really delicious!

Pros: So tasty , Kind staff , Reasonable pricing

Cons: Not made to order , No high chairs , Not many non soy options

Juicy Brew - Kaimuki

Juicy Brew is located off of Waialae Avenue and serves a variety of 'onolicious foods such as waffles, curry, couscous, burritos, sandwiches, quiche, etc. There are two four-top tables and six stools facing Waialae Avenue if you wish to eat in - no outdoor seating.

Parking: Two parking spaces in front of building. Street parking available in the surrounding neighborhoods.

The menu is a rotating list and as well as the display case items. What you find on their menu one day might not be there next, but it might come back next week. You never really know since many times it's based on availability and/or freshness of ingredients. The same is true for their pressed juices: not always available, but great to try when you see it in the case. On Sundays, there is a vegan brunch available - really good!

We plan to visit again. :)

Pros: Vegan Options, Sunday Brunch, Friendly Staff

Creative use of locally grown, native ingredients

5 stars!! Juicy Brew is doing some amazing stuff with locally grown, native ingredients like ulu (breadfruit), kalo (taro), olena (turmeric), etc which is super important in shifting Hawaii's food system towards one that is self-sustaining.

I would say their food is 95% vegan, and it's some of the best vegan food I've ever had, so it's unfair to just call it "veg-friendly."

Updated from previous review on 2016-12-12

Pros: Locally grown native ingredients, Amazing flavors, Constantly changing menu

Cons: Small space
