Pizza by Lake Ashi - Edit
One vegan option (margherita pizza with no cheese) and a couple variations of margherita pizza that are vegetarian. We ordered from the takeaway menu, and they made us our two pizzas in four minutes. So quick! They were hot and yummy. We brought our pizzas outside and ate on the steps at the lakefront, which was gorgeous with a view of the Torii gate.

With Vegetarian Menu - Edit
At a prime location next to the lake Ashi. Food was well prepared and they have a separate vegetarian menu. Pasta 🍝 was delicious and pizza was authentic.

Closed even though it states open on Happy Cow and Google Maps - Edit
I walked there in the pouring rain only to discover it wasn't open. The Japanese restaurant across the street had a sign posted next to their menu outside their restaurant saying that they didn't have any vegetarian or vegan options because all of their dishes contain dashi. Unfortunately, I don't have any new hours to pass along as there were no posted hours at the La Terrazza restaurant, just a sign saying "Closed" with a chain going across.

Delicious Italian pizza - Edit
It’s pretty difficult to find a true Italian pizza outside of Italy, but this restaurant’s pizza is truly authentic. Focaccia is also very tasty.

Only one vegan option as such but the staff are very friendly and food can be customised to an extent.

While they had an entire vegetarian menu, the marinara pizza was the only option that came default vegan. Since the “Lakeside Eatery” was mysteriously closed, I appreciate having something to eat here in Hakone. The description says cash only but they took my card.

My partner and I found this place while spending a few days in Hakone. The choices here were extremely limited, although found a vegan pizza (labelled without cheese) on the menu.
Read moreSeveral toppings could be added (such as mushrooms and olives), and while it was quite a simple dish, it was extremely appreciated while we spent time in such a small area.
Cannot confirm whether there are other vegan options, but believe there is also a pasta that can be made vegan. All-in-all, considering the location, the pizza was quite a good fall back on the day we did not wish to cook!
Pros: Well-priced, Tasty pizza
Cons: Only one confirmed vegan option
