Vegan, gluten free ok located along side only 8 minutes from Motohakone kou(port) - Edit
1)Firstly it’s very convenient to visit there 8 minutes only on foot after getting off “pirates ship excursion at Motohakone ko(south port of Lake Ashi)”.
Read more2)you can place pre-order of vegan/ gluten free etc through its homepage for safety purpose .
3)the menu of its vegan / gluten free are “udon noodle type” and “baked pork meat type “ with vegetables, miso soup, steamed rice etc. Thep price is very reasonable between JY2000-3000.

Good option - Edit
I found it a bit tough to find some vegan options in Hakone area, but this was a good and decent place. They changed their menu, the vegan Set isn't available anymore. They offer 2 different Kind of Currys, the one I had was very good.

Friendly - Edit
They did not have the vegan set anymore but they made it anyway just for me. The food was good, nothing extraordinary but it was a lot.

Good vegan options in a sparse area - Edit
I'm a big fan of no-nonsense dining. This place is a fairly typical shokudo but the food was pretty good! There are two vegan curry options, a pasta, and two noodle sets. I had the straight up vegetable curry and it was very satisfying, perhaps a little on the sweet side but that's to the taste of the local palette. I had a hunch some of the other dishes could probably be customised but I prefer to order those labelled veg to be less of a bother.
Read moreSadly they couldn't veganise the broth-based noodle dishes. Some of those only used animal ingredients in the broth but otherwise looked great!

Good vegan choices - Edit
In an area with not a lot of choice it was nice to see a place with a vegan specific menu. There are also some other vegetarian dishes which are vegan.

Vegan lunch with view on the lake - Edit
After searching the town for something to eat, we entered this restaurant with the intention of ordering only a rice bowl. What a surprise when the waitress told us there was a vegan ("vegetarian") menu !
Read moreIt was curry but when we mentioned gluten allergy she went to the kitchen and showed us another lunch they could make with udon noodles and vegetables as a fondue, and it could be made gluten free with potato noodles!
The noodles fondue was not the most tasty meal we had in japan but the kindness of the staff made us really appreciate it.
It was also served with tea hoji-cha and grape (budō) jiuce. The price was OK (~1400¥) for a set.
Pros: Only place with vegan options we could find, Staff was very nice, Familial place
Cons: Only open for lunch, Not all staff speak english
