Jedes Mal, wenn wir in Hamburg sind gehen wird zu Mahadosa. Super leckere Dosa und das Ambiente ist super angenehm. Am besten wäre jetzt noch ein Veganer Mango Lassie

Beim bestellen einfach drauf hinweisen dass statt Ghee Pflanzenöl genommen werden soll und schon ist das Gericht vegan!

Delicious Indian Food - Edit
We had a Dosa, which was made vegan on request. It comes with a hot curry sauce and 3 dips. Also the Chickpea Curry was great as well as the starter plate. Everything was great and delicious. The starter plate 68. was a bit filling but super tasty.

Tasty food and a lot of vegan options. The staff was really helpful and friendly and explained everything in detail. Prices are a little high, but food quality is great!

I really liked the food here! The classic dahl dish especially. The dosa was too cheesy for me. It was a bit of a modern twist I think, but it kind of took away the Indian vibe for me, though it was tasty.
Read moreThe restaurant has many vegetarian and vegan options, but like many Indian restaurants they also serve fish, lamb and chicken versions of most dishes. For me personally that isn't a problem, but it is something to be aware off.
The ambiance is also nice and the staff was kind. Would go again!

The vegan choices are overwhelming, because they have a lot of explicitly vegan choices, but also because everything can be made vegan, even the Lassi, which was delicious! The Mahadosa serves typical south Indian food that cannot easily be found in other places.

They even serve a curry with a rare and very bitter pumpkin, if you like it.
Besides the extraordinary food & food choices, the location is very comfortable and nicely decorated. And since the staff & service was so perfectly friendly and welcoming I would've loved to give 5 stars, actually.

Liebevolles Restaurant mit vielen veganen Optionen - Edit
Das Restaurant hat viele vegane Gerichte. Die nicht-veganen Gerichte sind gekennzeichnet. Die Bedienung war unfassbar freundlich und hat sofort in der Küche weitergegeben, dass ich Veganerin bin. Wir haben also veganes Dosa vier vegane Soßen bekommen als Vorspeise. Als Hauptspeisen gibt es viele vegane Currys. Absolut zu empfehlen, aber nicht ganz billig!

Tasty Indian food - Edit
I had a very delicious dinner at the very nicely decorated place. There were many vegan options and they were clearly marked in the menu. The service was very kind! The only con is that one staff member tried to persuade us to have starters or added stuff while ordering, but it wasn’t that bad at all and he really tried to find the best dishes for our tastes.

It’s South Indian food which has a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. I had the mysore masala dosa which isn’t sufficiently spicy for my Indian taste. The masala idly and mysore bonda were pretty good. All vegan.

Good south Indian food - Edit
The restaurant is mostly vegan/vegetarian, everything is explained and clearly labelled. I had never been to a South Indian restaurant before so I was quite happy to find this in Hamburg. I had a dosa (crispy pancake made from lentil dough filled with spiced potatoes) and a starter. It all tasted very nice and I'll be happy to come again.

Geschmacklich war es ok. Es wird jedoch damit geworben das es sich um ein rein vegetarisch / veganes Restaurant handelt. Und das stimmt leider nicht (mehr?). Ob es mal so gewesen ist kann ich nicht genau beurteilen.

Not a Vegan/Vegetarian Place - Edit
I was very disappointed with going a long way to find that the place was not fully vegetarian. There are a few non vegetarian food options too. I don’t have a problem with any restaurants food availability. But when reality does not meet the expectations, then it’s disappointing. I am a very strict vegetarian who does not eat at a place where they serve non vegetarian. I asked the waiter if the place was vegetarian (as the board outside read it but there was a funny smell inside). I ordered after they confirmed it was vegetarian. While leaving the restaurant, I found a sheet of paper (outside of the menu items) that read lamb, prawn etc etc. Very very disappointed. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone again!
