Currently best vegan – and best Indian – food in Oslo? - Edit
5 stars is reserved for places who are 100% veg*n on this site, so I gave it 4 stars.
Read moreThe vegan options here are just as good as the best veg food/Indian I've had anywhere (including in India). Or, rather: this is true for the combination of 'White Chicks' (which is the name of their chana masala and Peas & Love (which is their name for kalan pattani; mushrooms and peas in black pepper curry). The only place in Oslo (which is till around) that has as good vegan Indian food as Mantra is New Anarkali in Thorvald Meyers Gate, which I'll review later.
Their menu/price page is here:

If I should mention something which IMO possibly could have been improved a little: with food as good as this, it would be brilliant with even larger portions. I won't list this as a Con, since I don't see it as an objective truth.
Also worth mentioning: if you order medium food on this place, you'll actually get medium food.

Incredible food & ambiance - Edit
Just wow! When you walk in, you are greeted with the delicious smell of curry & turmeric. Great ambiance and vibes inside. Now to the food, DELICIOUS! There’s an entire section for vegan options. The presentation of the food is the most impressive!

Great curry and roti - Edit
This is a lovely, warm, ambient place. I ordered the only vegan entree, called flower power. It was a little too hot for me, but I’m sure others would enjoy it. I had the coco curry with rice and roti and it was all so good! Definitely recommend

Worth a visit - Edit
With a proper vegan section, complete with imaginative names and elaborate descriptions, this place gives the impression that it pays attention to vegan customers. Four main dishes. Two different starters.
Read moreI took the Kalan Pattani Masala (it had a more fantastical name in the menu but I forgot it now) and a roti bread to go with it.
The masala was delicious, medium hotness was quite spicy but not overly so. The rati was ok, unlike the naan it had no butter on it, which made it a bit on the drier side. It would have been nice with some margarine.
Pros: Fast service, Clear menu that sparks your imagination, Nice atmosphere
Cons: No receipt given, so ask for it specifically

Amazing Indian cusisine - Edit
The food is brilliant, with a small dedicated vegan section of the main menu. There is one vegan starter but also a vegan snack/appetiser that is enough for a shared starter.

Magirics manifested, malvaceously. - Edit
"Yum" is perhaps more apropos than "Om." Whatever your magic word(s), leave here more present than when you arrive. There is a super abundance of salt that ultimately renders the experience less than it might have been. Note: this establishment was visited prior to the deordination of social distancing.
