Affordable and tasty daily lunch specials - Edit
Maria Bonita Vegana is a food truck known for its affordable and tasty lunch specials. Its menu of the day comes with a rotating main, a side (usually a soup), a salad, and a small drink for 80 pesos. MBV also has a solid regular menu to fall back on if the daily specials don’t catch your eye. Try the burritos and tortas with your choice of alt-meat subs; highly recommend the milanesa. In the taco capital of the world, the taco is always a good bet. If you’re looking for something different, MBV serves hamburgers and hot dogs too. Eat at their small 4-person counter or take it to nearby Plaza Rio de Janeiro to people-watch. Makes for a nice afternoon.

menu may not be accurate but you get a LOT! - Edit
I ordered a burrito as the menu said it was mostly real foods (I can’t remember but rice, beans, etc with some kind of fake meat), I ordered it take away and I don’t speak Spanish. when I got to the park I was first amazed how HUGE this burrito was, but aside from a few slices of pepper the filling was ENTIRELY a mix of fake meats, with nothing stated on the menu except that there was a decent but of salad on the plate with a nice dressing.
Read moreso it kind of defied the point that I was looking for something with whole-food fillings (which is a bit rare, it seems). I assume they had run out of ingredients and if I spoke Spanish we could have communicated.
I won’t knock off any more stars because this was a language issue ore than anything, and that’s my problem. The ladies were very friendly, the other food I saw looked great, and I still got a very filling and tasty meal even if not as healthy as I would have liked😄
I do recommend for fairly-priced food, but do ask.

Got such a filling, yummy sandwich. I paid with card (tapped) and it was $4 for one sandwich, which is an amazing rate. I will definitely be making this a regular lunch spot.

Maria bonita is an outdoor cart with seating. They have a menu of the day which comes with a drink and the price is on point as well as the food. My meal today came with a soup, Chilaquiles verdes and a salad plus an agua de Jamaica. The Chilaquiles were tasty and the soup was lovely as well. I also went for one of the donut breads at the end of my meal. It was a nice treat but nothing that blew my mind away (I found it to be a bit dry).

The main menu varies every day and, contrary to the tacos and hamburguer options in the area, here you can find healthy & delicious home-style food. The prices are excellent, the tortas are $45 pesos and the 3 course meal w/water is $60 pesos. You won't find a lower price in La Roma.

This place is really friendly and I love that you're able to sit down to enjoy their food. I only had a quick bite here and ordered the hot dog, which was very yummy and filling, especially with the bread being full of seeds and not your regular soft white bread. Wish I would have gone for some of their pastries though, they looked delicious! I also loved that they have quite a few breakfast options!
