Great ambiance - Edit
A cavernous former theater houses four sister restaurants. Mini Bar has the best space in a hall behind a false bookcase. The friendly and knowledgeable staff is ready to help you navigate the vegan options. As always, there could be more options, but it’s still a good meal in a fun space.

Amazing vegan tasting menu - Edit
My husband and I each had the vegan tasting menu and our friends had the standard tasting. Menu was so much fun and our meals were similarly creative to the standard tasting. Exploding olives, hummus pearls and other fun courses. We had a great experience, fantastic service and the restaurant is beautiful!

Read moreOur evening at the restaurant fell far short of our expectations. Despite having a reservation for 10:30 PM, we waited for half an hour before being seated. While the ambiance was pleasant with good music, the service was disappointingly slow. Many diners, including ourselves, had to repeatedly signal for assistance, even though numerous tables were empty.
The vegetarian menu was notably inferior to the other options. While one dish was satisfactory, the remainder lacked flavor, with unripe avocado and cold fries further detracting from the experience. By 2:30 AM, we were eager to leave and opted to skip the dessert courses, which seemed similarly uninspiring.
When we expressed our concerns to the staff, their response was a mere apology without any attempt to rectify the situation. If considering a visit, I would advise against booking food and instead suggest enjoying drinks at the bar. Overall, it was a disappointing evening, leaving us feeling tired and disheartened.

Great ambience, great food, great service - Edit
Being visitors, we were looking for some great food in Lisbon. Did some research and decided to try out MiniBar - one of the best meals we had in Lisbon. The restaurant is inside a structure that is centuries old. The service was attentive and on point, but not even remotely stuffy. The wine recommendations went perfect with the courses. Really loved this place- wish there was something like it where i lived.

One of the best Vegan Tasting menus in Portugal - Edit
I can't complain. Even though I love going abroad to eat good Vegan food, on the last few years, the number of options in Lisbon grew so much it's hard to keep up. I remember the "old times" where we only had a single fully vegan restaurant, we've come a long way.
Read moreStill, and I understand it's not everyone's cup of tea, but we lack fancy / fine dining places where you can have more than a meal, an experience. There's 3 or 4 at the most I would say. This is why I was so happy when in the context of a business dinner, I found out Minibar can do a fully vegan tasting menu! I instantly became a huge fan... so I've been there 2 more times since.
The service is really good (not that "old fancy" style like Encanto), the venue is beautiful with a sexy vibe and the food is really surprising and tasty. Their wine list is also very good and has many vegan options, including the "exclusive" wine by Niepoort that is only sold in José Avillez's restaurants.
I'm posting the pictures of the most recent visit, and I'll try to be as accurate as I can in the labeling.. it won't be easy tho :)
