Lots of vegan options - Edit
It was Sunday night so the special was the Fajita station. Yummy chickpeas and mushroom substitute. Avocado? Coconut raiti and vegan cheese. Delicious. We also ordered the Buddha bowl which was good too. We were too full to try the desserts but they have vegan options for dessert too. Yay

Tough steak - Edit
We went to Moku for a good dinner and were a little let down from our expectations. The restaurant is in the rear of the Novotel Cairns and we walked through the lobby to access. At the bar, we were informed we could pick any available table and order there by scanning a code or come back and order at the bar. We took some menus and found a table. It was cleared/unoccupied, however there was a coin-sized blotch of green that looked like thick pesto- we really have no idea what it was, on the table. A staff member came over immediately (without being asked) and sprayed/wiped the spot. We ordered the handmade steak at the bar and waited with some water from a self-serve station. The restaurant area is next to the pool club and the area was quite loud with families. We also noticed the outside ground was quite dirty and could have used a power wash. Our food came out after a short wait and was served with a steak knife. The steak was very rubbery and dry (almost had a burnt taste). I went back to the bar and requested some BBQ sauce for the steak and ketchup for the potatoes which came out after a few minutes. Waiting at the bar to order was a pain and I wish I had tried ordering by scanning the table. The sauce was quite tangy and not what we are used to. Overall the steak was not great, and the coleslaw lacked sauce. The potatoes were decent. Unfortunately would not recommend, hopefully they can change their steak recipe. The restaurant/bar seemed like an afterthought for the hotel, taking a backseat to the pool club (not surprising as this is an extra cost).

Many vegan options. Great atmosphere - Edit
We ordered nachos, parma and cheesy flatbread. Had to send the cheesy garlic bread back as it was too salty that it was inedible. Fortunately they were happy to fix it and much better the second time. Not a fan of the coconut sour cream but everything else was delicious.

Lots of Vegan Options - Edit
Lots of vegan options on the menu and a vegan alternative of the daily dinner special. My favourite is the Battered Banana Blossom. The Plant-Based Parmy is delicious too and has a really nice smoky flavour (due to the carrot “bacon”), however the plastic looking cheese they put on top is a bit of a let down.

Go for lunch menu! - Edit
Most of the vegan options are only on the lunch menu but they are good! The banana blossoms and vegan nachos were very good. Good burger and Buddha bowl as well as decent pizza and a large portion of seitan. Something for all vegans here.

Pricey but great vegan options - Edit
We stayed at this resort and ate in every night for the ease of not having to hunt for vegan options, so we tried most of the vegan food here. The burgers were great, the nachos were my husband’s favorite, and the Buddha bowl was my favorite. They also have a vegan appetizer sampler.. it’s huge and fed the 2 of us so be warned if ordering that one because it’s a lot! The seitan steaks were okay.. I’m not a fan of chewy seitan so I’m not the best person to judge them but the flavors were great. They also have really good drinks. They do have a lot more vegan options on the menu at lunchtime compared to dinner, so I definitely recommend going before 6pm to get the most options. Their breakfast buffet had pretty limited vegan options for the price.

Plenty of vegan options that at clearly labelled on the menu. I love that for each of the daily specials there is a vegan option. I have tried the seitan steak, banana blossom fish, pizza, battered broccolini, banana dessert. The steak and fish were great, everything else I was not impressed with. Can be very salty and oily and pizza had barely any topping or flavour. Still a decent place to go, probably only on a Monday for $21 vegan dish or Friday for fish and chips

I would change the smoked potatoes for normal chips/ wedged, a bit too smoky for my tasted. They were out of tacos.

We went in close to their kitchen closing time. Wait staff was kind and prompt with service. I especially appreciate the chef coming out to double check that my order was in fact vegan. Plenty of vegan options were available and was all delicious and filling.

Great for vegans but if you want to take advantage of the $19 vegan Mondays, you MUST order at the concierge desk as the QR code/app doesn’t accommodate the discounted pricing.

I checked their fb menu before attending . . . When I got to the restaurant they had a new menu and the plantain and tropical fruit vegan curry was no longer available.

Disappointed - Edit
Waited 30 mins for drinks and 40 mins for food. When the food came out, I had ordered vegan and my partner not. I asked which was vegan and the waiter said the one in front of me was vegan. Lucky my partner checked because I had the animal one and almost ate a cow patty and bacon. Would expect better from a restaurant. It’s also expensive and average tasting food.
