Relaxed vegan cafe and event space

Some great food and lovely staff. Will leave space to try puddings next time. Great selection of beers.

Very good

We had lunch AND dinner on the same day, so good to have a fully vegan menu and the food is so tasty. Helpings are on the large size for me but am sure most people are more than happy with that.
We have eaten here before when visiting Glasgow and it seems there are more pizzas and burgers on offer than before. I would have preferred to have more veg based dishes but again personal preference. It's so lovely to eat in a vegan restaurant as none at all where I live.

Fully vegan menu

Excited to order from a fully vegan menu. We had lunch dishes but keen to return for full meals. The food was excellent and the servers so friendly. A lovely place and we will definitely be back!

Pros: Fully vegan, Delicious food, Friendly service

I think everything is deep fried here (not a bad thing)

The tofish was nice but not overly fishy (maybe a good thing for some). I’d get it again.
My friend got the haggis and was disappointed because it didn’t come quite as described and you didn’t get a lot for the cost (£17!!).
Still a lovely place and I’d come back if I’m ever in Glasgow again

Interesting venue

Our table inside sat on a stage with speakers set up, so it looks like Mono hosts live music. Fittingly, in a corner of the place sits a little record store, fittingly dubbed 'monorail', no doubt a reference to the location situated beneath a railroad track.
The food was decent, although we had to wait for quite a bit of time, even while the place wasn't busy at all. The tofish was carried heavily by the dill-dip, it could've been a bit fishier in my opinion, and the chips were fried too long. The soup of the day and the mac n' cheese really needed some salt, but that was easily fixed. I still give 4 stars because it's an interesting venue with a full vegan menu, so there's a lot to love.

Outside seating available.

Fully Vegan Heaven

A real Glasgow institution that knows exactly what they are doing when it comes to vegan food. This was my partner and I’s first visit here and definitely won’t be our last. We could not believe that everything was vegan. We had black pudding fritters that I truly believe meat eaters would not realise were vegan, a mini mac and cheese that was absolutely amazing with a perfect texture and did not taste “fake” in any way, the haggis burger which was deliciously meaty (I actually got the ick towards the very end as it seemed so realistic that I couldn’t finish it) and my partner got the nduja pizza with hot honey. We also added some dips, I got the blue cheese dip and she got the garlic and herb dip both of which were delicious. As someone who loved cheese before becoming vegan the blue cheese dip literally could have made me cry, the flavours were spot on. If you are looking for a vegan spot in Glasgow this is the place to be.

Pros: Inventive Food, Something for everyone , Lively atmosphere

Really special

Completely vegan. But better than that, it's clear that they love doing good fresh food. Beer and whiskey really tasty too. Oh, and the staff were very friendly. Wish I lived nearer!

Perfect vegan place

This place is entirely vegan with lots of takes on classics. The food was delicious and for two people having three course with two soft drinks it was under £60!! What a bargain. Some dates they even have live events

Just fine

We visited mid-afternoon on a weekend and ordered the truffle burger, kimchi fries and char siu tofu bowl. Great to be able to support a fully vegan place but wouldn’t go back for food as the quality didn’t match the price.

Tasty lunch!

We are here for lunch and enjoyed our food. I ordered the loaded kebab fries, and while the fries and sauces were good, the seitan was oddly seasoned- it had a Chinese five spice seasoning, which didn’t really go with the rest of the dish. They also didn’t have the creme brulee and didn’t tell us this until after ordering it. I got the pumpkin spice donut s’more for dessert, and the donut was a little burned and also tasted more like a bagel, but the ice cream was delicious!

Good food and vibe

I enjoyed the food, however I wish they would marinate the tofu to have more taste. The crème brûlée was amazing.

Friendly place with wide choice

Friendly place and a very chilled venue. My char sui was very tasty and the sides of a delicious walnut and blue cheese salad, and the fennel chilli sausage were even better. It's so nice to have such a wide choice including vegan pizzas on the menu. I hope it's not too long before I return.

Pros: Good selection on menu, Tasty food

Excellent!

Another amazing visit - I had the char siu (added apple and jalapeño slaw which was yummy, very fresh tasting) and crème brûlée, and my friend had the pizza crunch supper and the donut s'more. Everything was heavenly as always! I haven't had a crème brûlée since going vegan so was overjoyed to finally have the option. It was unbelievable! Exsctly as I remember it!

--------------

Have been here loads and it's always good but omg everything we ate today was divine. Had the baja tofish tacos to start, the "spicy one" burger (absolutely beautiful, nduja was gorgeous and the "hot honey" was amazing, made the burger sweet and spicy and the seitan was amazing) and then had the s'more donut to finish. CANNOT recommend that highly enough. Only thing I got a photo of. The photo doesn't do it justice, the most gorgeous dessert I've had in ages! Yum! Really friendly service too!

Never Mono-tonous

Love the food at Mono. My favourite place to eat in the centre of town. I especially love the vegan fish and chips. For some reason they big up the macaroni cheese on their menu, which is terrible, so steer clear of that, I would say. All the rest is good.

Pros: Great menu especially the fish n chips, Nice quiet atmosphere, airy, Great record shop in the same building

Cons: The macaroni cheese sucks

Homemade food

Homemade dishes different from burger/ pizza/ sandwich. When I'm traveling I worry about finding only unhealthy fast food as vegan options, so this place was a very good choice. The pudding for dessert was awesome.

Had a number of mains and desserts here and all were very good. Interesting and creative menu items mean its difficult, in the best way, to choose what to have!! There are also daily specials on the chalkboard

Best comfort food in town

We were in Glasgow for a short trip and were recommended to go to Mono twice in a day and it did not let us down! When arriving, we had a hard time to decide what to get - so many great options. For starters we got buffalo mushrooms with a blue cheese dip, main dishes included Mac’n’cheese with an add-on black pudding and an olive pizza. Portions were generous at a reasonable price. If you get a chance to go there, give it a try!

A Glasgow Institution

Been coming to Mono for years. Always a reliable, solid choice for vegan food in Glasgow.

This time I had the sticky mushrooms with fries, side of Mac and cheese, and a chocolate cake!
