They Don’t Do Anything for Vegans Beyond Google Results

If you search “vegan wedding cakes Boston” this will forever be one of the top results. Like the other reviews have said, once you reach out and ask for one that’s when things start to unravel fast. They insisted they couldn’t make a vegan wedding cake without non-vegan layers. When I told them other bakeries said it was doable they doubled down that it was impossible and that I was insane for asking. Not sure what makes them so possessed to advertise that they’re vegan friendly and just pray that no one ever actually calls their bluff but that’s what’s happening.

Delicious vegan options!

Went on a Sunday afternoon to find some vegan desserts & found so many choices & a very friendly staff! Their vegan chocolate cupcake is everything a cupcake should be! The vegan cinnamon bun was great, as were the lemon poppy muffins (not too sweet).

Out of this world pastries

I got a plethora of vegan treats when I was visiting Boston, and the pop tarts were near the best vegan sweets I've ever had. The coffee menu is great as well

YUM

I just love oak leaf. Every day they have multiple creative vegan options for baked goods and also I ordered a vegan chocolate gormet birthday cake earlier this year and our friends loved it, vegan and non vegan alike!

Few choices for cakes/too sweet

I ordered a gourmet birthday cake from this place. Great if you’re looking for a cake in a pinch, but honestly if you have time to make one yourself- it’ll probably be better.

Pros: Only 3 days notice needed, Some vegan cake options, different sizes, Reasonably priced for 5” cakes

Cons: Wayy too sweet, Too basic- Only 3 flavors for the cake itself, Frosting either chocolate or vanilla

Desserts are fine.. but not sure it's anything special

I reached out to Oakleaf to make a cake for my wedding. They told me that they could only offer chocolate or vanilla in vegan cakes and that a tiered wedding cake was IMPOSSIBLE. I mentioned that I've obviously seen them elsewhere and they said they could only do tiers if they included non-vegan layers. Hopefully they've caught up with the rest of the world at some point, but I was totally taken aback that a professional bakery had no idea about making vegan cakes. I've had their cupcakes and they're fine. Not amazing, just fine.

I wish this place didn't come up as having vegan options on Google - my cousin reached out for vegan cookies for my baby shower and again they acted like it was something insane that has never been done.

Vegan cake is PERFECT

Liz at Oakleaf Cakes is super nice. She got back to me right away about my interest in a vegan cake for my wedding. I was invited in for a complementary tasting including their three amazing vegan cake flavors (vanilla, chocolate and red velvet) along with a variety of DELICIOUS vegan buttercream frosting options (raspberry is to die for.) The vegan cake is soft and moist, not dense and oily like many others I have tried. The frosting is perfect. Must try red velvet with vanilla frosting. Less than $300 for a 20 person cake and 60 cupcakes for my wedding day. I’m the happiest girl alive. Thank you Liz!!!

Pros: Best vegan cupcake I’ve ever had, Amazing staff and outstanding service, Beautiful shop and great location

Cons: Vegan cake can’t be tiered for a wedding cake

I love their cakes and cupcakes.

I brought a birthday cake for my baby girl. It was a simple design, but beautiful. It was a delicious vanilla cake.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Expensive
