Man, their food is good, especially the seitan ribs. It’s hard to find a restaurant in Maine with one vegan item on the menu, much less a whole smorgasbord and all done so well too. They even had a vegan dessert option.

Oasis in a vegan food desert - Edit
Vacationing in Old Orchard Beach. Vegan options are so limited! We decided to make the 15 minute drive into Biddeford to try the vegan options here. SO glad we did! It’s difficult to find a barbecue place with ANY vegan options, let alone one in this part of the country! We tried the seitan ribs, the tofu, and a bunch of veganized sides. All were delicious. They brought us two different sauces, sweet and spicy- both were vegan. It’s really great to see a restaurant truly put some thought into their vegan options. They even had a vegan dessert- though it didn’t blow me away. Next time I’ll forego dessert and get some fry dough at Lisa’s on the Beach!

We were really excited to find this on Happy Cow and to see how great the options were! We were starting to struggle with vegan options in ME but this was a perfect spot. We had the seitan ribs, potato salad and coleslaw.

Our family is from Oklahoma with Texas roots and this place was soooo good. It was great to have bbq tofu and seitan ribs with so many vegan fixings. And to top it it off, everyone was so nice, friendly and welcoming. I give it a 5/5.

So, I may be a teensy bit subjective because I helped create their vegan menu. That said, it was awesome to work with them and they were truly open and motivated to offer a vegan menu. The chefs and owner are delightful to work with (not always the case in my work) and they really want their restaurant and food to offer great options for everyone. I love the seitan ribs, tofu, potato salad, pecan pie and especially the cashew queso ( I made it how I like it!)

Great veganization - Edit
I used to live in central Texas, and since going vegan accepted that I’d never have a plate of barbecue again. Ore Nell’s new vegan menu changed that! So thrilled about the variety of options. Ribs were incredible, potato salad, slaw, cashew queso, all made for a wonderful veganized barbecue dinner.
