Owner supports genocide - Edit
Planta is in every major city in America. Simply put, these are overcharging, greedy capitalists taking advantage of the growing plant based trend. I mean then owner support GENOCIDE and then we’re supposed to think they care about ethical treatment? Total hypocrisy and if ethical component matters to you at all, this place is not worth your money or your support.

Planta wins again - Edit
Server was super nice and she checked up on us often. I already visited Queen in Toronto so I tried some new dishes. They were all so good and fun 🥰

I enjoyed this place - Edit
So, I have visited Planta restaurants in multiple states (typically Atlanta). When I saw one here near my hotel in Georgetown I was very excited. I am 100% plant-based and I enjoyed finding the best vegan restaurants around the world. This restaurant is very good. I've gone twice since being here and even took a few non-vegan friends with me. They were very nervous but ended up very happily surprised. We ordered dragon rolls, volcano rolls, kale ceasar, a chickpea tofu dish, fried mushrooms, dessert and more (can't remember all of the names). It was great. The drinks at Planta are always good as well. Honestly, I was originally nervous because the Planta Queen in Atlanta greatly disappointed (not to be confused with Planta in Inman Park in Atlanta - my favorite overall restaurant). This one in DC saved the Planta Queen brand for me. Oh, and the employees here (and Planta Inman - Atlanta) are always wonderful. I recommend attending and taking your friends. You'll be a hit!

The service it’s always rushing and not to happy to serve
Also making reservations it’s like not making one, you always have to wait at least 30’ until they give you a table.

Excellent date night or special occasion - Edit
Husband and I went here for an elevated date night and we loved it! Doesn’t have to be elevated to be here- but the food, cocktails, and staff are incredible. We had some seasonal specials, which we loved, and some tried and true menu items. Couldn’t help but stay for dessert. We’ll be back!

Love Planta! - Edit
I’ve been plenty of times in FLL so I was psyched to order from Uber Eats when passing through DC. Went with the mushroom hand roll, the avocado beet tartare and a brownie sundae. All super delicious!

Very Bad Experience - Edit
I have been to many other PLANTA locations across the US and have had good past experiences but my visit on a Monday night to the PLANTA Queen in DC was about as bad as you can get.
Read more1. I arrived at 7:30PM. The restaurant had at least 50% of the tables open but I was told they were all reserved.
2. Made a reservation and when I returned at the designated time the hostess said she was going to prepare my table but then disappeared.
3. Another host took the customer next in line, who didn't have a reservation, directly to a table while I was still waiting for my table.
4. I was seated without a menu and waited a long time before I was noticed sitting at an empty table.
5. Almost every item on the menu was crossed out (see photo)
Why not print a new menu? Even if it is temporary.
Also, info about a very limited menu would have been good to know before I made the reservation with one hour of wait time.
6. Charged for an ordered drink that never arrived.
7. Long wait time for check. No apologies for any of the screwups.
The only up side to the night was it was Maki Monday and sushi rolls were $9. The rolls came out quick and were very good. The staff delivering the food and refilling water were friendly and good at keeping my water glass filled. My server was also friendly, the few times I saw them, but not in the least bit attentive.
The pay by phone link on the check was welcome and surely saved the time it would have taken to process a credit card.
I'm not sure what happened? Kitchen crew quit? No manager on duty? Definitely not the way to run a business.
Pros: Sushi rolls were tasty and made well. , The staff delivering food/water were friendly
Cons: 80% of the menu was not available, Poor customer service by hostess and server, Charged for a forgotten drink

Atmosphere (chef’s kiss!) - Edit
Beautiful interior and overall location. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, but that’s expected in the city. Seems pricey for the portions. I had the Torched and Pressed. I enjoyed it but definitely not enough to pay close to $20 for it again.

The staff was so friendly and welcoming! Our server helped me find gluten free choices, and brought out an appetizer for us to try on the house! We tried lots of different dishes, each one plated beautifully.

Amazing! - Edit
I love vegan sushi, and this place was like something out of my dreams! Every single roll was delicious, as were the 1000 layer potatoes and gyoza. The chocolate brownie was amazing, and the ice cream was good (though it a distinct coconut flavor). It is price, but offers happy hour and other specials. Would 100% recommend for vegans and non-vegans!

flavor - Edit
I ordered for delivery. The food was very good. I was a bit disappointed as I ordered the Thai lettuce wraps and only received the filling - no lettuce, sauce or toppings usually included? Some foods I wanted to order were no longer available as well. I would definitely try here again though.

Always impressive food! - Edit
I’ve been for dinner multiple times and just recently visited for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the change in atmosphere! At dinner, the restaurant is dark and very loud—I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to have a conversation with my lunchmate, but the place was light and bright and good for convo. We ordered a sampling of many things and my fav was the spicy tuna roll with watermelon that has been pounded, dehydrated, and rehydrated. Also had the bang bang broccoli (because how can you not?), dragon roll, and Caesar salad (huge). Fantastic! I highly recommend a lunch visit.

Ambiance, presentation and well curated music definitely hit the right notes. Customer service a plus in this fully plant based eclectic taste and texture of a restaurant.

The over reliance of salt particularly with the pad Thai noodles unfortunately knocks off the many fine qualities otherwise.
Pros: Ambiance , Music, Flavour (infusions)

The food is exceptional. - Edit
The chef outdid themselves. The food was excellent I enjoyed unagi eggplant nigiri, ahi watermelon nigiri, Thai lettuce wraps and truffle fried rice. The fried rice I had to eat the next day. So much food. I got a brownie but no ice cream and it was really dry. I got stuck trying to get a cab and London was so kind and helped, Even though it was really busy really great staff. You will love it! Book early online. It is hard to get a table.

Best Vegan Restaurant - Edit
This is an amazing experience: wonderful setting, delicious and impeccably plated food, and even a good selection of wine, cocktails, and zero-proof cocktails. I got to try this ahi-tuna made with watermelon substitute. I admit that I wasn’t expecting it to work but it does, not that it tastes like tuna but it is delicious in its own right. The kelp based “caviar” on the 1000 layer potatoes on the other hand were almost exactly like caviar in flavor and texture. The beet and avocado salad served with taro as a tartare stand in was phenomenal as well. The scallion egg wrap was nailed too as I would have expected from Mung bean based egg substitute (think Just Egg). Hands down the best vegan food I’ve had in a restaurant.
