Vegan sushi - Edit
We had the lunch menu which was good, but not overwhelming. I found the portions quite small, I was still a bit hungry when we left.

Will definitely be back! - Edit
The food tastes even better than it looks. But it’s not only the sushi that’s delicious. The desserts are just as good. I loved the Crème Brûlée.

Best vegan sushi - Edit
We've visited this restaurant on several occasions and it has never failed to impress us. The food is exceptional, and despite being consistently busy, the service remains quick and efficient. However, the fact that they only accept payment in cash or with an EC card is a letdown, particularly in this day and age.

Great for lunch - Edit
We had lunch there. The lunch menu is inexpensive and there are several options to chose from. Both sushi and curry were really good! The ambient is tranquil and relaxing without being too formal, so eating there makes for a very nice experience.

The secret is out! - Edit
Secret Garden is one of the highest rated vegan restaurants in Munich and we wanted to try it out. Let me tell you: the secret is out! The restaurant opens at 5 pm, but even then it fills up quickly and even at this early hour reservations are recommended if not required.
Read moreSecret Garden really lives up to its name with the decoration. Although the restaurant has 4 dining rooms, they are all decorated beautifully and have a feeling of intimacy that makes it feel a bit like a secret garden. Even from the outside the restaurant looks classy!
The items on the menu all have funny names and since this is a vegan restaurant one can't really go wrong. Therefore we decided to order some meals with funny names. The "Geisha in Love" is a uniquely tailored kind of sushi that is like an explosion of tastes and structures in the mouth. The chef somehow manages to combine unusual flavours into one unique piece of food.
For a main meal we tried the "Beautiful firebird" which is spicy coconut soup that indeed has the colour of fire. The toppings are arranged in such a way that one might recognise a bird taking off (with a lot of fantasy or booze). The taste is sublime and once again the combinations and structures work very well. On top of that all the ingredients seem to be of top quality. Even a simple miso soup was of far above quality.
So now that the secret is out, take your chance and enjoy the Secret Garden.
Pros: high quality ingreditents, creative menus, sublime taste
Cons: toilets could be cleaner, Only German and English spoken (no Japanese staff)

Buen sitio vegano en Múnich - Edit
Probamos dos platos del menú del día (M3 y M8) y estaban muy buenos.
Read moreAparte probamos daruma maki y Tiger tempura, must try!
Cons: Algo caro

They deserve 1 star but Happy Cow don't let me select it - Edit
Food too expensive. The guy asked if we wanted to stay outside and we said that we preferred inside, he smiled and said "follow me" and then he put us outside. When we went to pay they said that they don't accept Visa. We had a Mastercard, and they said no Mastercard. We asked what card then? And they said only cards from Germany. Then they asked me to wait while my husband went to withdraw money, since we didn't have enough cash. While I was waiting I checked other reviews and I read that they don't even accept cards from Germany, it's just an excuse to make you pay with cash. I don't think this is legal.

perhaps the problem is in debit card versus credit card? Many European companies don't accept credit cards because they have to pay a fee to the credit card company. Debit cards don't have this problem. We could pay by using a European (but not German) debit card without any problem.

Good food, bad service - Edit
Food was quite tasty and fancy at an expensive but reasonable price. Service was not good. It felt like we were an annoyance to the server for existing. In the middle of taking our order, our server left to fix chairs on the other side of the room where no one was sitting.

I'd give 1 start if I could – The rice had 0 seasoning - Edit
I don't know if we went there during a bad day, but what the hell?
Read moreI'm not going to deny it – it looks pretty in the pictures. The trick with the liquid nitrogen is cool for the Instagram, I guess. But that's it. Interesting fact about sushi, sushi is not the fish or the roll. Sushi, actually, actually refers to rice – it's vinegared rice. Our sushi did not have any seasoning. It tasted like plain rice. The sets were uninteresting and mostly used the same ingredients over and over again. One of the pieces was supposed to have mango. I'm guessing they ran out of it because there was no mango to be found.
This was not to mention the slowness. It was so slow. It was full, sure, and generally, we are patient people, but we were pissed off by the time we left. It took so long for us to get our food – we had to ask about it multiple times. I dreaded the moment we had to ask to pay.
The other people eating there were also incredibly loud, but that's no fault of the restaurant, really.
The worst part was truly the sushi. It was disappointing and flavourless. I truly wonder if they forgot to add the seasoning that day when they cooked the rice. If they did, it was a huge oversight, since sushi IS the seasoning. How can they call themselves a sushi restaurant?
I don't think we are going back anytime soon.
Pros: looks pretty for the Instagram
Cons: unseasoned rice, slow service, overhyped
