Vegan ice cream

It’s a cool concept and nice that you can customize the coconut milk base with lots of different options. Everything is very clearly labeled so you know what your options are. I only wish they had vegan cones!

Pros: Clearly labeled, Lots of options , Cool concept

Pretty Good

I wish they had almond milk as an option, but everything is very clearly labeled. The staff doesn’t always have a clue, so make sure you check their detailed list.

Pros: Clear list of vegan options, Coconut milk ice cream, Lots of topping choices

Cons: Expensive

No almond milk

I came here expecting to get the almond milk base as described by all the other reviewers, only to find out that they no longer offer it leaving the only vegan option to be coconut milk. My coffee flavored coconut milk with walnuts and vegan chocolate shavings tasted like straight coconut milk and was cloyingly sweet. My husbands pistachio flavored coconut milk mix was better, the pistachio seemed to mask the coconut somewhat. I think almond milk would have been better..

Pros: Most flavor options are vegan , Several vegan mix ins, At least they offer a vegan base!

Cons: Super sweet, Only 1 vegan base option

Fun place with vegan options

They have several flavors and toppings that are vegan and you can pick almond milk as the base. I enjoyed creating different flavors and also watching them create the ice cream before my eyes by freezing it with liquid nitrogren. I think this is a great place to take kids too since I think they'll get a kick out of the cloud of liquid nitrogen cooling it off. I like some flavor combinations more than others so I would suggest trying more than one. I especially like the cinnamon flavor and the maple syrup flavor with pecans tastes like butter pecan to me.

Off to a great start

Sub Zero is off to a great start by providing vegans an alternative for an ice-cream treat. The owners are just learning about vegan lifestyle. You can customize your ice-cream and the menu is labeled with vegan and gluten-free items. The one area that could be improved for vegans is to provide sweeter if desired such as dates or agave. The end product with Almond milk was slightly on the bland side; however, this could be changed easily. The owner said she would try bringing agave. This is a great place to bring friends since everyone can have a choice. Be sure to let the owners know you found them on Happy Cow

cool science bland flavor

We had the regular coffee and dark chocolate and cherry and chocolate with almond milk. We both agreed watching them turn the liquid into icecream in about 30 seconds was really cool. Sadly, the flavor for both of us was very bland. The icecream lacked richness. For the science show check it out, I can't recommend anything above a small size or returning for a second visit. Vegan and gluten free items are labeled via a small sign in line. I will add a photo of the sign.

Pros: labels vegan on small sign, cool science

Cons: bland flavors
