⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cookbook- A must have for every kitchen - The Chicago Diner does it again! - Edit
This review is for the cookbook-
Read moreThis is the second cookbook I’ve purchased from The Chicago Diner, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about it. Every recipe I’ve tried so far has been packed with flavor, easy to follow, and the kind of food that makes you excited to cook. You can feel the same passion and creativity that I am sure has made their restaurant legendary woven into every page.
The instructions are clear, the ingredient lists are accessible, and the results? Absolutely delicious, whether you’re cooking for longtime vegetarians, curious omnivores, or anyone in between. I love that it offers both classic comfort foods and inventive twists, so there’s always something new to try.
Owning two of their cookbooks now, I can say without hesitation that The Chicago Diner has earned a permanent spot on my kitchen shelf. If you want recipes that are approachable, satisfying, and guaranteed to impress, this book is a must have!

Amazing - Edit
The food was very good! And the portions are hugh.
Read moreWe had 2 desserts with 5 people and that was clearly too much, still I absolutely recommend getting the s'mores brownie sundae!!
We has the lentil loaf, the risotto, a salad and the Cuban sandwich. Everything was great.
I went with 4 non-vegans and they really didn't even realize they were eating a vegan risotto with a fake chicken filet.

Traditional diner food that's vegan - Edit
I was in the area for a show at the Vic Theater and saw this place was close by. I'm glad I decided to stop in because this place was amazing. I ordered the country fried steak, and they had it ready within 10 minutes. The meal was delicious. The seitan steak tasted almost exactly how I remember real country fried steaks to taste. The gravy was savory, and the potatoes were super creamy. If I'm ever in the neighborhood again, I'll definitely be coming back.

Since the restaurant is located in the Northhalsted neighborhood, it's also a safe space for LGBT folks. Like every business in Northhalsted, they proudly display pride flags and are welcoming of all people regardless of sexual or gender identity.

Vegan by default - Edit
The menu is vegan by default but you can ask for cheese or real egg if you want. The Benedict was amazing and the seitan bacon had the best smoky flavor. 10/10

Best buffalo wings - Edit
Every time I go to Chicago, I always stop in for the buffalo wings. They are so good! They are close to Wrigley field if you are catching a Cubs game. I also recommend the milkshakes and the Ruben.

The Best Meal in Chicago - Edit
Everything is entirely plant based by default and you have to request animal based milks and cheeses and I think that should be standard everywhere you go! The food was the best we had in Chicago while we were there, the staff was super friendly, and the atmosphere was cozy. I will definitely be back!

Delicious Diner Delectables - Edit
The Chicago Diner is a fun atmosphere with traditional diner food made vegan. There is a daily brunch menu that includes tofu scramble, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, and potato hash (to name a few). Also on the brunch menu is a cinnamon roll that is AMAZING!

Chicago’s best - Edit
Love stopping by Chicago Diner anytime I’m in town. My faves are the Cuban sandwich and spinach & artichoke dip. While this is a vegetarian restaurant, almost everything can be made vegan. Highly recommend!
