Brilliant Cozy Pub - Edit
This cozy, pub in Yorkshire has very friendly staff, several options for vegans, a great atmosphere and they are very attentive. Extremely surprising in such a little town, and we felt very welcoming.

Been going here for a few years now and I love it more each time. First of all the owners are so welcoming and friendly you feel as though you’ve just popped in for a cuppa. The portions are huge and you will definitely not leave hungry although it is hard to not consider ordering starter, main, and dessert with all the lovely options. Creamy garlic mushrooms starter ended up being shared with non-veg boyfriend as he was gutted he didn’t order his own portion after a taste of mine. For main I had the sweet potato black bean burger which was also delicious and the coleslaw on the side was especially out of this world. Food is definitely cooked with love and carries a home cooked vibe. I absolutely recommend treating yourself and stopping here

I ordered the veggie Sunday roast and it was very very poor. “Mash” potatoes were slightly crushed new potatoes with the skins still on and no butter. The nut roast was incredibly tasteless and I couldn’t eat it. My partner is veggie and ordered the Yorkshire puddings with gravy as a starter which is labelled as vegetarian. The gravy was meat gravy. I was served oat milk so out of date it was fizzy and following this was then served a meal labelled plant based but contained cows cheese. I asked staff to check and they confirmed it was plant based and later that evening I had an allergic reaction. Staff were non apologetic about any of these occasions.

The first time I came here the owner proudly told us they serve vegan/veggie food but the standards have completely plummeted. If you advertise food for vegetarians and vegans don’t treat as an in inconvenience. If you can’t treat us as valued customers we will just go elsewhere.

Lovely little pub with great vegan options - Edit
The pub is small and cute. The owner was lovely and clearly cared a great deal about the quality of the food. There were vegan starters, mains and even a vegan chocolate cake which was lovely. We also had the vegan sweet potato and bean burger which is the owners own recipe and was full of flavour. They also allow dogs which was great for us.

We've been here several times now and just about been through the vegan dishes except for the chili - can't abide anything with chili in it - and it's all been delicious, except that unlike Hannah I thought the 'shepherd's pie' was far too salty and would have benefited from some lentils because the filling was basically carrot and mushroom. The best thing for us is that it's only 7 miles from us and the nearest place we can get a decent vegan meal out, and this in an an area where most country pubs have nothing for vegans and not much for vegetarians and even what they have may be almost inedible. It is therefore now our favourite place to eat out.

Country pub vegan food - Edit
We had some amazing vegan food here. We were surprised to have such a wide selection of vegan and vegetarian food to choose from from a country pub! The food was delicious and the staff were very happy to change anything on the menu to suit us. Also, our dog was allowed to come too😄
