Amazing vegan restaurant - Edit
The Sly Fox is such a gem in Leith! Everything on the menu is fully vegan, which makes choosing what to eat so much easier.
Read moreWe tried the seitan burger and the cheesy tempeh sandwich, and both were absolutely delicious. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food.
The atmosphere is lovely, the staff are really friendly, and it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Definitely one of the best vegan spots in Edinburgh. Highly recommend!

As a Czech, I am delighted to have this Czech-owned place in Edinburgh! Unfortunately, I live far away, so I've only managed to visit once so far - for a Sunday breakfast. The place was surprisingly crowded on a Sunday morning, so maybe a reservation is reasonable. Lovely staff, delicious food and decent portions. It appears, though, that the prices have risen significantly over the past few months. However, I will be back to try some of the mains!
Read moreUpdate: Visited for the second time, and unfortunately needed to take a star down as the goulash was so disappointing. Really tasteless, soy chunks were not flavoured properly, probably could use some marination. They had a weird aftertaste. Potato pancakes were very good though, and my partner enjoyed the soup of the day.

Read moreCalled here again for a breakfast 2 years later - unfortunately it was not the same quality and was smaller in size. I wouldn’t get the breakfast again but I would try something else, the rose latte was delicious!
Visited the sly fox again since my first review and sadly I can’t say it was as good as my previous review…
I ordered the oyster mushrooms in breadcrumbs which were very tasty and the dipping sauce was delicious but there were no mushrooms in the breadcrumbs, me and my partner found a slither here and there but it was like a wafer thin piece and had no substance, for nearly £8 we were disappointed! I like to support vegan businesses but will be reluctant to go back.

A wonderful amalgamation of healthy and junk food with a Hungarian twist. The cafe itself is a comfortable and relaxing place with friendly, efficient service. Prices are very reasonable. Great coffee and a good selection of teas, including some unusual ones such as sea buckthorn and white peony plus kombuchas.
Read moreI had the Dirty Fries on the first visit and they didn’t disappoint- an extremely enjoyable mixture of textures and flavours. Had the veggie breakfast on the second visit and several cakes as takeaways.
This is a women-run cafe and is LGBTQIA friendly.
Dogs are welcome.
Strongly recommended.

We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast burger - in the top 3 burger experiences ever! - and perfect soup and haggis melt sandwich combo. Everything homemade fresh to order. The pickles, slaw, kimchi were super fresh and so tasty. Lovely environment and a really friendly all-women team.

The wait staff and the staff working the counter weren’t very friendly and the cafe lacked quality baked goods. We were told to move tables with no explanation given. Our croissants were okay but not great. I really appreciate that they are vegan but there are certainly better vegan cafes in Edinburgh.

A really extensive fully vegan menu. I had the goulash with a side of pickled peppers and my husband the breakfast burger. The food was delicious (i'd eat those pickled peppers by the jar load!). Can't wait to go back as there are so many dishes I want to try!

We ordered a variety of starters and the spicy goulash. It was a busy day and the cafe was full when we arrived. We asked the staff if they would have a table for us in 30 mins so we came back later. The cafe was cosy and tasty dishes the only thing is the 'spicy goulash' wasn't spicy and was missing salt.

Stopped off for brunch and was not disappointed. Fresh and delicious food, lovely staff and quirky cosy cafe. Breakfast burger was amazing (add the haggis!), french toast (with the caramelised fruit), cappuccino, hot choc (cream and marshmallows of course) and 2 cakes to take away... All delicious and at just over £40 not too pricey either for the excellent quality. Can't wait to return !!

I’ve been to The Sky Fox on numerous occasions, and it’s never let me down. With a creative menu blending Scottish and Eastern European flavours, plus the warm and welcoming atmosphere, it’s always worth a visit.

This is such a lovely place to have breakfast! My wife had the goulash and I the scrambled tofu. Both were excellent. Coffee and tea drink selection and nice cakes as well! The service was outstanding! Lots of gluten-free options as well. Our server was a true ray of sunshine who just makes your day! Highly recommend giving The Sky Fox a try.

We would love to come back for the full breakfast and more...
