The pesto. My god, the pesto

First of all, having vegan options in this area is something in itself. A couple of meals, a couple of cakes. So I had the roasted red pepper, sun-dried tomato and vegan feta on nutty pesto and sourdough. It’s amazing. The hit of oil and salt the pesto gives you once the tomato and pepper have smacked you in the tastebuds made me happy. The banana bread is pretty good too.

Vegan! Choices! In the middle of nowhere!

Tucked away in a garden centre between hills. Still blows my mind we can get vegan food in the middle of rural Scotland. We had an amazing open sandwich kind of thing that was rich and salty, and a choice of vegan cakes.

Welcome find at the top of Loch Fyne

A great find in a fairly remote and beautiful location. Really friendly and knowledgable staff. We only went in to use the loo and get takeaway teas, but saw the menu had vegan options marked so stopped to eat. Soya and oat milk was available at no extra cost.
I had the homemade scotch broth soup (after checking it was vegan) with sourdough bread and vegan spread (£6.50 as at Spring 2025), and my husband and son had the roasted red pepper, sundries tomato, vegan feta on nutty pesto and sourdough (£9).
Not everything is marked as vegan but if you ask they’ll tell you what is. The day we visited there was one variety of homemade vegan cake and empire biscuit left, which suggests they may sometimes have more on offer, and they also sell pre-packed brands of vegan snack bars and fudge so that something is available should they run out of homemade items.
The only negative would be, like anywhere not fully vegan, they could do with more vegan options.

Pros: Tasty food, Friendly staff

Cons: Portions were sensible, but adequate.
