Quaint veg cafe - Edit
It’s a small but fully-vegan food menu. I loved the dolma kebab made from pea protein. A tiny cute place!

Amazing kebab & falafel - Edit
When we visited in November 2025, there were only 4 vegan items on the menu, no vegetarian food, but no breakfast dishes as well, maybe because it wasn't tourist season... the food was still amazing, well-seasoned fake meat kebab and falafel, also we loved the fresh dill inside the salad. The restaurant has a super cute shop with handmade things and (second hand?) clothes as well. Recommended cozy place (even though it was a bit cold with open doors and the smell of cigarette smoke from customers seated outside).

Delicious cake - Edit
Had a slice of the vegan apple cake. Very nice. Lovely people. The only draw back is the place can be quite noisy as it’s so close to the road. Overall though I would return.

Good flavours and lovely hosting - Edit
My partner and I visited for lunch. We had the döner wrap and the kebab plate followed with baklava. We both had apple tea, one hot and one cold. The food was good and the host was very friend and patient. It was a little pricey but the plates aren’t void of space when served. It was a shame there was no apple cake when we visited but we’ll have to go back seeing as it’s located in a great area.

Minimal effort - Edit
Got the vegan breakfast plate and it was a big disappointment. Most items from a jar, the vegan “butter” was a spoonful of coconut oil, no molasses in the tahini, both breads were stale. Overall just really bland and felt like they put in no effort. Not worth the cost (currently 400 lira per plate)

Good coffee place - Edit
I had a falafel & humous and it was really good. The sides were a bit too salty for me. The turkish coffee are good and cute. Nice relax place, beautifull ambiance.

Happy cafe/food place! - Edit
Cute little shop with classic cafe options, desserts and a tiny pick-your-own-dishes option for food. Friendly staff, good wifi, delicious baklava! Five stars if only vegan.

Cold buffet food - Edit
This place essentially serves cold buffet food. You get to select the dishes from the counter. I had hoped that they would warm them up, but that didn’t happen. The food itself wasn’t bad, but also wasn’t good. It’s quite average all in all.

Our New Favorite in Istanbul! - Edit
Wegain is a lovely family owned and operated almost entirely vegan restaurant located in Cihangir - a beautiful, hip, and artsy neighborhood, whose windy cat lined streets eventually lead upward to Istiklal Street/Taksim. The restaurant has 6 indoor tables, and might seat 20 or so diners at max capacity. The decor is tasteful and music pleasantly unobtrusive. Meals are available for dine-in and take away as a choice of 3 or 4 options on a plate, and offered for a very reasonable price. The fare is home cooked/prepared, fresh, light, perfectly seasoned, nutritious and delicious. Service was fast and friendly, and the apple cake alone is worth making the trip for! Wegain quickly rose to the top of the list of our new favorite vegan restaurants in Istanbul. Highly recommended!

The vegan breakfast was disappointing - Edit
I got the vegan kahvalti and it was just three slices of bread with stuff I could have got at a non-vegan-friendly hotel: tahini, margarine, jam, olives, a couple of small salads. Really nothing special.
Read moreIt's possible lunch is better, but I wouldn't go here for breakfast.
Pros: Open early - from 8:30

Lovely lunch spot - Edit
We both had the '3 options' followed by baklava. Selection of salads and dishes served chilled and well flavoured/seasoned - perfect lunch spot. Good selection of hot drinks too.

Super cute! - Edit
Super adorable mom & sons café with tons of veg options to try. Menu was just what they felt like making that day. I ordered a Turkish breakfast and ended up getting a huge food spread and everything was incredible! I definitely recommend adding it to your Istanbul itinerary!

Delicious Turkish homemade food made by the two women that run the business. They cook really good. It's a vegetarian place but a big part of the offer is vegan. Good price as well:

All food tasted like homemade. I really enjoyed my meal, it was: lentil soup, rice with veggies and potato salad. The orange juice and apple cake were amazing also. I will definitely come here again.
