Good brunch! - Edit
I came here on a Saturday, mid day. We ordered the Poppyseed Waffles (poppyseed Belgian waffle, lemon curd, blueberry compote, flaked almonds, and vanilla bean whipped cream), the Banana Pancakes (buckwheat oat pancakes, banana, walnuts, salted caramel, Maple syrup), the biscuits and gravy (biscuit topped with herbed crimini mushroom gravy and a fried sage leaf), and the grapefruit creme brulée (fresh grapefruit and vanilla bean custard in a torched sugar shell).
Read more1. The waffles. My grandma's fave! They were so good! Very fruity/tart. I really enjoyed it!
2. The pancakes. My fave! Super delicious. My grandpa thought it needed more syrup, but we could have asked for more and didn't. I loved them.
3. The biscuits and gravy. My grandpa's fave! I thought the biscuit itself wasn't fantastic, but the gravy made up for it and I really liked it.
4. The grapefruit brulée. Idk about this one for me, but this is my fault probably. I didn't realize it was literally a grapefruit with some cream (it was more liquidy than custard) inside of it. I thought it would be creme brulée with a grapefruit flavor. I wasn't really into this, very sour, but drinking the cream straight out of the grapefruit was really good.
5 stars for this place because I mostly loved everything and they give free meals to those in need. All vegan and some gluten free meals completely free for people who cannot afford it. They have a pay it forward program where people can choose to donate if they would like.
Pros: The food, The service, They help people in need
Cons: Not crazy about the grapefruit brulée, A bit cramped, but not too bad

Honest critique! - Edit
I was looking forward to eating brunch at Acorn, and hate to criticize, but my comments are intended to be constructive! Just because a restaurant is vegan, it should not get a free pass ! The restaurant was full, but did not seem overcrowded. So, my first comment is not about the food, but the serving time. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. This seemed to be the norm, but was not alleviated by any staff coming to update or apologize, or offer additional coffee…
Read moreRegarding the food: we ordered poppyseed waffles and banana buckwheat pancakes. Part of one waffle was burnt ( though we were partially comped for this later). Otherwise, my non vegan wife enjoyed her waffles. I had the banana buckwheat pancakes, described as “banana walnut pancakes”, which to me means the bananas and walnuts were in the batter, which was not the case. Instead they were sprinkled atop the cakes. However, the pancakes ( sans nuts/bananas) were excellent, moist, flavorful and filling. We also had a side of a sort of fried potato croquette , which was good. The chai was very good, and the Mimosa was very generously poured.
The staff we interacted with were warm and welcoming, so it’s mystifying why there were no updates or apologies about the food delay. Also, the website describes their tip free policy, but its not on the menu, so I did leave a tip.

This is the cutest little cafe, owned by two amazing people.
Read moreFirst of all, all their food is hand-made from scratch with bespoke recipes using local and in-season foods. The drinks are all unique and delicious, and the desserts are the perfect mix of flavors.
Then there's the people - Corey and Miranda and all the staff, and their support of the community - feeding people because they support everyone.
Everything we have had to eat or drink is delicious.
Pros: Amazing food
Cons: Wish we could eat there all the time!

Delicious - Edit
Amazingly, this was my first time here, definitely won’t be my last.
Read moreRecommend the Winter Hash with mushrooms.
My wife and daughter got the waffles and pancakes, which seemed like dessert and both were underwhelming.
Only issue was it took 40 minutes to get our food, a little long, but in the end worth the wait.

Acorn in the Wall - Edit
Driving by, my omni family didn't suspect much of Acorn Community Cafe but stepping inside was inviting and the menu was full of locally produced and fresh made treats. Forward thinking policies re: takeout, tipping. I had the bbq soy curl sandwich with delicata squash, and enjoyed the soft baked bread that was obviously hand made with love. We cleared each plate we ordered and left full and satisfied 👍 I wish I got pictures of everything as it came out because it looked as good as it tasted!

Not just the best in Eugene, but some of the best I’ve had period. - Edit
I have been to many vegan places in Portland, Tokyo, LA and Seattle and this would fit in my top 5. The ingredients are unique and execution is incredibly and almost artistically done.

AMAZING - Edit
Been here about 4 times, everything I get is amazing. Two dishes that stand out — the Summer Hash & the Strawberry Waffles. Oh my god, the best waffles I’ve ever had. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Wait staff is super nice, too.

Delicious food/Friendly Service - Edit
This is the second time I’ve been to Acorn Cafe. It was equally as delicious today. Brought my daughter and we shared the biscuits & gravy and waffles. So much food and extremely delicious. We also ordered the lavender lemon soda and Hawaiian Haze mocktail and they were super tasty and refreshing. Acorn has a lovely ambiance and the service was friendly. They don’t accept tips for themselves but pay it forward instead to folks less fortunate. Well worth supporting! Looking forward to going back and trying everything.

Quaint vegan cafe - Edit
Came in on a weekend near the end of brunch for vegan birthday dinner in town. Ordered the autumn hash and mom had banana buckwheat pancakes. She said she has never had better buckwheat pancakes! The hash was amazing as well, whatever aioli whip they had on top was incredible! Ordered the mushroom biscuits and gravy and the dinner forager’s pie to go, as the staff was kind enough to allow me to order a dinner order to go since we were close enough to their dinner service. I have never had better biscuits and gravy! The forager’s pie was incredible as well! All in all an amazing meal for three meals in a row! Staff was friendly and amazing

Taste and Charm - Edit
What a beautiful concept! Cute place with indoor and patio seating. Servers are great and made recommendations that were spot on. One day, I was in the mood for sweet and savory breakfast, but didn't want two mains. The server offered a side of potatoes to go with the pancakes and it was perfect. Their Summer Hash is one of the best meals we have ever eaten! We added the lobster mushrooms, and whoa... amazing! Don't miss anything they offer with mushrooms. They have a local forager they work with and it makes for a special mushroom treat. During our month stay in Eugene, I only wish we had eaten there more than twice!

Positive Community Vibes - Edit
We got brunch at this place. We both thought the biscuits and gravy sounded the best on the menu. Love the community vibe of the place, the pay it forward, no tip style. The biscuits and gravy was serviceable, but it didn't blow me away. The service was very slow.
