Great for vegans, not for allergies - Edit
This place was super empty when we stopped by, and maybe for good reason. I've seen some mixed reviews online, but wanted to give it a try since it had a full vegan/veg menu! I got the tofu set which came with udon, some pickled veggies, a tofu skin sushi and some tofu dessert(?). It was all very delicious and a good price for the variety of food you get to try!
Read moreHowever it is a big farther out of the city, so allergies and restrictions are completely understood all the time, or the severity of it. My sister has quite a few allergies so when we asked about her sesame allergy specifically with a kansu dish, they said that there would be none. Unfortunately, a couple minutes into the meal she started to feel an allergic reaction and stopped, we sifted through and did indeed find sesames, whether intentionally or just cross contaminated. It was enough to set her off.
The staff was all very kind, but just be wary if you have food sensitivities or if you are more strict with cross contamination, this may not be the place for you.
Pros: Delicious tofu set, Variety of options to try, Not busy at all

Located next to Randen Arashiyama station loved the soup and Tororo kombu (soft sea kelp) and Umeboshi (plum) soba and deep-fried Tofu (age) wrapped Inarisushi (2 for ¥400) highly recommended!!

This is a welcome respite from the chaos outside. Soba noodles were not super flavorful but the curry was very good.

Right on the main street but miles away from the hustle and bustle. Separate menu for vegetarian w/ egg clearly marked, which they will leave off on request. I opted for the meal set.

Cosy small place in very busy street - Edit
Very small shop with delicious soba and udon noodles. The street that the shop is on is one of the main streets in Kyoto, we were expecting chaos inside but it was nice and quiet and no queue which was great. We thought the food was really good, simple but good. Nice vegan options😄totemo oishi, arigatou gozaimasu :

A small quiet shop on a really busy street. The food was simple, but delicious, cheap and really quick. The staff were friendly and chatted to us. Not many vegan options in the area, would definitely recommend.
