Best quality in town - Edit
No restaurant I went to bed the quality of Hong Yi Su. I was told they are a partner restaurants if Jiayuan. Their quality is much better than the Bib Gourmand restaurants in town. Everything I had there was great to amazing. I forgot to take pictures of some dishes, but I would recommend trying out the ones I did take.

Spicy soup dumplings

Everything was good but not wow
They seem to defrost goods (seemed like pre bought/ packaged)
Tea very good
Glad to have something during odd hours
I often get stomach pain - not sure because they use MSG or after flight

I was a bit overwhelmed with all the options. I definitely wanted some porridge which is quite hard to find in the vegan version. Then the waiter suggested the vegan chrysanthemum siu mai with mock egg yolk which was so delicious. Next time I won't take the porridge and just eat all the dim sum 😊

Hong Yi Su 红艺素 is a charming little vegan spot tucked inside a beautiful old building. They serve classic Cantonese-style dishes, but we visited during afternoon tea hours, so the menu was limited. Still, the snacks were delightful—fresh, light, and full of flavor.
