You MUST order the Cauliflower Tacos! - Edit
Very quality food! Cute atmosphere, and often available reservations. Friendly and attentive service.
Read moreMy partner and I ordered the Chickpea Hummus (which is somewhat redundant in name but delicious in flavor and texture) and the Cauliflower Tacos for a light dinner before a show. (Great location for some Broadway theaters instead of going to restaurants that are tourist traps). Have previously tried the Falafel Laffa, which was also delicious.

Delicious dinner - Edit
We had the cauliflower tahini pita tacos and the falafel laffa and both were excellent. Happy hour drinks were a bonus.

Delicious - Edit
I had the cauliflower ‘tacos’ as a main and the kadif for dessert. Both were great. The challenge with the tacos was maybe that the pitas were so filled that it made it hard to get the baba ghanoush or hummus in as an additional components. But that’s a nice problem to have right? It just meant I dipped pickles in tahini, which was new and surprisingly tasty. The kadif might be best shared, tbh, as it’s a lot of halva. The nuts and pastry were a good foil, but the ratio was slightly off. The menu has the vegan items clearly marked.

The falafel here are not vegetarian - Edit
Hummus Kitchen is a small chain of Mediterranean restaurants. This branch, like the others, is waiter-served and charming. They offer vegan hummus dishes that are quite good. In some other branches, the falafel dishes are vegan as well. But in this branch, unfortunately, the falafel is cooked in the same oil as the meat, so if this cross-contamination disturbs you, stick to the hummus.
Read moreA plus for this place is that it is located near the theater district. Although on the Happy Cow map, it looks like there are a lot of vegan-friendly places nearby, realize that most of them are more takeout-oriented and/or are not open at night. Also, note that is not particularly pleasant to walk around 9th Avenue, so if you are nearby this place has its definite advantages.

Amazing HummusN - Edit
I really enjoyed this restaurant. It’s a great place to go with friends who are not vegan. The vegan options are clearly labeled on the menu. They have the best hummus I have ever had in my life. The Hell’s Kitchen location is small, but cozy and cute. Prices are right for NYC. Highly recommend!

So good - Edit
Finally, a menu that clearly marks the vegan options! And whole wheat pitas?! I’m in heaven. I had the cauliflower “tacos” and the fava bean dish. I will definitely be eating here again.

I love that there are a lot of vegan options. I’ve never tasted such creamy hummus. Knowledgeable waiting staff, delicious food, good service. Couldn’t ask for more.
