Like traveling back to 1998 to eat breakfast - Edit
Very limited vegan selection and not breakfasty. I remember getting texmex and ginger soy tofu scrambles at confused, white owned breakfast places decades ago. If you like eating just a regular texmex burrito for breakfast, this is it but I think we've come a long way in the last 20 years and can do better.

Pros: Friendly service
Cons: Crowded with long line, Limited vegan choice

Great for breakfast! - Edit
The Southwestern Tofu Hash at Johns Place is just the perfect way to start the day. Delicious! We're visiting Victoria and I could eat that every day. The service was top notch as well, so friendly and attentive.

Solid breakfast joint - Edit
This is a classic, cozy diner which has surprisingly good vegan options. We got the tofu scramble and were really surprised by how good it was. Usually diners are not super vegan-friendly, but we will definitely come back when we are in Victoria next.

Big Plates, Big Taste - Edit
They have two fully vegan breakfast choices, I got the hash on recommendation of the server. The dish came as a mountain of food, probably a full half avocado and a pound of peppers, onions, mushrooms, and potatoes. So filling and very tasty. Very healthy serving of tofu on the plate. Also have Oat and Soy options for their coffee. Would have given 5 stars if the app allowed.

New Wave 50s Best - Edit
I have been going to John's place for years, way before I became vegan.
Read moreSome of the staff have been at John's since it opened in 1982(?)! Staff will go out of their way to help you. There aren't too many vegan options but there is usually a vegan daily special and my 'go to' ... the Ragin' vegan burrito. It is filled with good stuff and very tasty. They have milk alternatives for the coffee which is bonus but like most places with white sugar, it will probably be the one made with bone char so consider bringing your packets if you want to sweeten your coffee (this goes for most places without organic or raw sugar).
Great (and fast) service, accommodating staff and filling meals!
Even if there is a wait... it usually goes fast.
Pros: Hearty, tasty meals, Large Portions, Great staff and overall service

Totally unique and fun - Edit
The interior reflects the owner's love of sports and celebrities. Every inch of wall is covered with pictures and autographed paraphernalia. Need a picture of Marilyn Monroe? John Travolta? Gordie Howe? Any random player from Detroit RedWings, Tigers or Lions?

We went for breakfast and had the Ragin' Vegan Burrito which was a vege patty with sweet potato and veges and that was rolled up inside a burrito with some more veges and avocado and then served in four stand-up pieces with salsa. Very pretty.
One would have probably served both of us, but we managed to stuff ourselves.
Pros: Great Burrito, Quirky but fun, Great atmosphere

Yummy! - Edit
Love the decor and atmosphere, also the constant water refills. The staff were lovely and the food delicious. I had the Spocks vegan wrap with salsa and it was the bomb.com, best salsa I've ever tasted and the garbanzo and flax burger patty also was yum, the texture was brilliant!
