Awesome place

I love this place, it has a really nice, relaxed atmosphere with spacious seating. The food was delicious, I had the schnitzel on gnocchi and my boyf had a burger, both were amazing. There is a nice selection of ‘junk’ food, i.e burgers and hotdogs plus some healthier options

Pros: Very tasty food, Decent selection of food, Inside was very nice

TOFIIIIIIIIIIIISH

A great and reliable vegan restaurant. The fact that they cater to the desire for a fish shop style menu is brilliant. The tofish is particularly good.

Awesome menu

My husband and I took a non vegan here who has never tried a vegan place before, and he was happy with his experience. He had the cubano and loved the seitan and flavors of the sandwich. As for us, we had the jerk burrito and really enjoyed it. It was yummy, spicy and not oily one bit. Overall, we all were happy with our dining experience. I felt they had a good menu — something for everyone.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Not organic

Disappointing

The food *looked* great, but we were unable to order any as they could not seat us before the kitchen closed. We stayed for a drink, which were nice enough but my friend was charged extra for soya milk with her tea - not what is expected in a vegan establishment!

The place has a casual feel. The toilets are a bit nasty, clean enough but not in good repair.

I echo what others have said about the staff being rude. I understand it was a busy day but that is not an excuse for a poor attitude.

Cons: Rude staff, Nasty toilets, Extra charge for soya milk

Very good music cafe

The music at Mono is a little less loud than the one at the 13th Note next door, making this place a little more relaxed and better to have some nice pub food with some beer. This is still a music venue and as such it is a great place to hang out with others and enjoy some beers and snacks!

Pros: Nice vegan pub food, Good music

I eat at Mono a lot and have never been disappointed by anything on their menu. Just really delicious vegan food in a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a good selection of drinks.

Delicious food, shame about the live music

This place has a great selection of hearty vegan dishes. I look two non-vegans and they were really impressed. Would definitely go back but will avoid the live music and poetry recitals.

Amazing food

I have been to Mono a few times now and the food is always amazing. There is so much choice of food and you can really go crazy as a vegan.

However, every time I have been there the staff is always just a bit rude. I don't know what it is but customer service is not their thing.

Good thing that the food is so good!

Pros: Amazing choice, lovely interior

Cons: Questionable customer service

Top Scran

I’ve been here on a few occasions for lunches. I can highly recommend:

Banh Mi sandwich
Pizza crunch & chips (my guilty pleasure!)
Battered sausage & chips.

The battered sausage is identical to one you’d find in a chippy, I was seriously considering asking them to prove it was vegan!

Great little vibe with a broad mix of young, old, friends & families.

Pros: delicious food

Cons: soft drinks are perhaps a little pricey fir what t

I loved it here!! It’s a pretty big space and music venue and they even have a vinyl shop inside! The pizza was amazing and I will definitely be going back here.

Love It!

I've eaten here on a good few occasions, and never been disappointed. Proper filling portions (including lots of chips if those are part of your dish), nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

It's neither super-basic or very fancy, hits that nice middle ground where I'm happy to go on my own for lunch if passing by, but also good to go with a group of friends for a little celebration.

I can definitely recommend the to-fish and chips, and it's worth leaving some room for a dessert too.

Mono :)

I've lived next to Mono for 10 years now so know it very well by now - it's basically Glasgow's most well-known and longest-running vegan place.
In short:
Very good Bahn Mi Roll and Hummus/salad wrap.
To-fish is excellent! Mac & cheese and the pizzas are above average but not amazing (compared to Zizzi's vegan rustica for example).
Chips are very good as are the artichoke fritters, a must-have! Cakes are also good, but most importantly they have Oatly :)
Various specials and soups pop up on the menu from day to day so keep an eye out for those.
The place is long-running and popular with the vegan community and various Meetup groups so can go from empty to full quite quickly even though they have a lot of tables for all sizes of groups, so be aware of this especially on weekends.
The staff are chilled and friendly (if you are ever waiting for service, just wander up to the bar and order there).
The wifi is good and it's a great place to chill and get some work done on mornings or quieter days.

I have nothing bad to say about this place. I only went once and had the fish n chips, but it was the best meal

old favourite

Mono is a fave for any Glaswegian vegan! Their choice is great and there are some really indulgent options which is a rarity for most vegans in restaurants! I would say my favourite dish has to be the kale pizza but I've never had a bad meal here! I also love the bean burrito and my sister lives for their mac and cheese!

Cons: service can be slow and make sure you book in adva

Nice food, nice service

I was only in Glasgow one night and this is where I decided to eat based on recommendations. I wasn't disappointed.

I wanted something deep-fried because I was in Scotland (I'm from Australia) so I ordered the sausage supper which contained deep-fried sausages, chips and a pickled onion. I ordered it with extra mushy peas because I felt I needed something somewhat green on my plate haha. It was delicious, greasy goodness! The sausages were particularly good because they had a very authentic sausage flavour.

The staff were very nice and didn't make me feel awkward about dining alone (I was traveling alone and with such a short trip I knew no one).

The atmosphere was very nice and sort of exactly what I imagined Glasgow to be like. I enjoyed myself :)

Pros: Delicious, Friendly service, Nice atmosphere

Cons: Down a quiet alley; scary to walk there alone

Great music - food ok

We were so excited to try this place, but walked away underwhelmed. We ordered the fish and chips and it was super greasy as well as the burger...same :(. The soup was amazing and we tried a salad with tofu that came with two dollar sized slices and a bunch of greens. For as much as this place gets amazing reviews...we were not thrilled. Positives are great service, fun atomosphere and the DJ was amazing and played great music while we were there. Probably a skip next time, but if you like great music...nice stop

Fun dive/junk food

We ate here our last night in Scotland and it was such a relief to be at a vegan restaurant that we happily overlooked the fact there were hardly any vegetables on the menu. We had: caesar salad, tofish and chips, seitan burger, falafel wrap, side of sausage, and side of jerk jackfruit. Did not like the sausage or jackfruit at all, but everything else was pretty good, in fact we had to order more of the tofish and another burger. However, the food was quite greasy, especially the tofish which was not as crispy as it should have been and extra greasy. Maybe they need to adjust the fryer temps. The best item was the seitan burger.

I made a reservation because I wasn't sure what to expect. It was probably a good idea because the place got busy. Mono is a dive--no need to dress up at all. The record store attached to the restaurant is fun but it closes early.

If I lived in Glasgow, I might visit about once year because there were hardly any healthy options. If Mono lived in my city, it would have to up its game since there are vegan restaurants here that do fried food that comes out crispy without being greasy.

best Mac n cheese in Glasgow

And the rest of the food is great too, lovely space, friendly and relaxed atmosphere but make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy it, Mono time is chill out time. Can get busy, check out for special events and good outside space for a sunny day. My favourite Glasgow spot 👍🏽

we had the tofish and chips, which were good and the jackfruit burrito which was meh.
the atmosphere seemed relaxed but the food wasn't that special. maybe we just ordered the wrong things.

Pros: chill atmosphere, nice staff

Cons: slightly mediocre food
