We walked over an hour to get here, as it was a “must try” recommendation from a coworker. We tried the Monty, the Francis and picked up some jerky. The sandwiches are so filling and taste incredible.

Delicious Vegan Deli in LES - Edit
Orchard Grocer is a vegan deli located in the LES. Aside from the very friendly staff, they serve up some excellent sandwiches. Their menu includes different breakfast items, hot/cold sandwiches & heros, wraps, salads, sides, & baked goods/desserts. I unfortunately only tried one thing on their menu- the Monty Hero, but it was absolutely delicious. I have a huge soft spot for everything seitan, and their seitan mortadella did not disappoint on this hero. The mayo added richness; the veggies added a crunch as well as a slight sweetness, and the bread brought it all together. The sandwich was very good for takeout, as I had half in-store and the other half later in the day, which was just as good as when it was fresh. When I revisit, I totally want to try one of their hot sandwiches, along with their mac & cheese. You'll have to check out their Instagram for weekly specials that always look amazing. Additionally, if you want to buy any vegan snacks/proteins/miscellaneous items, their building serves as a mini vegan grocery store with many different mainstream/local vegan food products. As a final note, while this was not my all-time favorite Italian cold cut, that one goes to the Herbivorous Butcher in Minneapolis, MN; my sandwich was delicious. I would highly recommend checking this place out, as just from the looks, everything on their menu looks extremely tasty.

The sandwiches here are so unbelievably tasty that my carnivorous boyfriend actually said his ‘chicken’ ceasar wrap was the best he has ever eaten! I shared half and I agree it was absolutely amazing, I’m talking croutons just wrapped right in there, tasty protein pieces (not dry), delicious dressing and refreshing salad all inside the biggest wrap I have ever seen in my life - so really great value for money!

I had a Philly ‘Cheezesteak’ as I had always wanted to try one, it was definitely good but I reccomend the caesar wrap if you want to be blown away :))

Such a great place to stop for a quick vegan meal on the Lower East Side! I can never decide what to get because it all looks so good but I got the breakfast burrito this last time. Orchard St is pretty quiet, so if it's a nice day I would suggest sitting outside. It's great place to stop before/after visiting the Tenement Museum, too. They also have a nice selection of vegan specialty groceries -- I got some cheddar from a brand I hadn't seen before and really enjoyed it! Service was friendly and quick!

A good vegan Rueben is hard to find. There are many tasty ones but they aren’t quite Ruebens. Orchard has one. Go get one. And soft serve ice cream! I had mine for breakfast.

The first time I came here I got their lox bagel sandwich, but the lox was very sweet and I didn’t like it at all. My partner tried the Bowery sandwich and had a much better experience. I’ve since been back and tried the Miles, which I liked a lot more. I also like to come here for their selection of vegan groceries. This place is s neighborhood gem. ❤️

Finally Tracked Down the RIND Blue Cheese 🧀 - Edit
Loved finding the RIND blue cheese here since it’s been completely sold out online for a while. The store had a good selection of vegan products, snacks, cheeses, and prepared foods. It’s also connected to MooShoes, which was really cool since you can browse vegan shoes and groceries all in one stop. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area!

No trip to NYC is complete without a pilgrimage here, and as usual, it didn’t disappoint! The Bowery sandwich made a fantastic breakfast and the mac and cheese made a great snack for later. Next trip I will bring ice packs so I can stock up on more grocery items!

In a 5 day trip, we visited here 3 times !!So so good and they sell loads of items in there as well such as crisps, sweets and chocolate, they do have a fridge and freezer section if you are a local. Definitely the best breakfast you will get in New York. Small seating area so you can eat in.
