Funny decorations, excellent food - Edit
Calling this place a „bar“ is kind of a disservice, since it is really a restaurant. They only have 4 items on the food menu, but you can order them à la carte or as a set menu. Let me put it very simply: the food (and the drink) is EXCELLENT. Period. The service is also great.

Beautiful food in a beautiful space. - Edit
What a wonderful place (and experience). We had the four course tasting menu which included (at the time) watermelon sashimi, king oyster mushroom with saffron purée, Nasu Dengaku with amazing crispy rice, tamarind and sweet potato sorbet. Everything was immaculately prepared and had incredible flavours. Staff were an absolute delight as well, and the music playing was perfect. A real Oslo treat.

Best vegan place in Oslo so far - Edit
In Berlin you would never be able to get a walk in table at a place like this. Situation would more be like „yeah we got a table for you in 3 months“.

Cute spot - Edit
The spot itself is super cute, as others have noted, and very funky. The ceiling is an upside down house, chairs are a combination of wicker and benches.
Read moreThe 4-course meal came out very slowly. I'm not sure if it was a hard night for the staff (something seemed to be happening behind the scenes, with the two of them running in and out of the restaurant several times looking very stressed) but the meal took about two hours and portions for the 3 of us that went for the 4 course meal were small. We liked the dishes, but nothing really left a huge impression. We left hungry and went for a pizza immediately.
I'd go back for a relaxed date night, and I wouldn't go in very hungry. Someone was also playing the piano which added to the ambiance.

Ostara: A Culinary Gem in Oslo 🔮 - Edit
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ostara in Oslo, and I must say it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The exceptional service provided by our waiter, Isabella, made us feel incredibly well taken care of throughout the evening.
Read moreThe highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the tasting menu, which featured four exquisite dishes that delighted our taste buds and left us craving for more. The Watermelon sashimi with umeboshi, shiso, pickled rind, and tapioca crisps was a refreshing and creative combination of flavors. Each bite offered a delightful contrast of textures and the perfect balance of sweet and tangy notes.
Next up was the Nasuden Caku, a dish that stole the show for me. The miso glazed aubergine with shitake mushrooms on crispy rice was a culinary masterpiece. The flavors were rich, savory, and perfectly complemented by the crunchy texture of the rice. It was a true delight to savor every mouthful.
The Hand pulled noodles with pickled cabbage, garlic, cumin sauce, and szechuan had a tantalizing aroma that filled the air as it arrived at our table. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the combination of flavors was absolutely delicious. The cumin sauce added a unique twist to the dish, making it a memorable addition to the tasting menu.
To conclude the meal on a high note, we were treated to a dessert that surpassed all expectations. The Wasabi ice cream with mango, cucumber, and roasted pistachios was an exquisite blend of flavors. The subtle heat from the wasabi paired surprisingly well with the sweet mango, while the cucumber added a refreshing element. The roasted pistachios provided a delightful crunch, making it a truly exceptional dessert.

This restaurant is a gem! - Edit
Presentation, concept, food and drinks are exceptional and incredibly delicious. The food is completely vegan and is complemented with a wide accompaniment of drinking options, which can either be paired with a menu or enjoyed on their own. The sake selection deserves special attention, as there is a possibility to get the perfect sake with the corresponding food from the menu.

A foodie’s dream - Edit
This place was amazing. The vibe is fantastic and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I had the tasting menu and it was beyond delicious. The flavour combinations were so creative. The dessert was a wasabi ice cream, which I would have never thought could be good, but came out to be my favourite dish (and thats saying something as the rest was so good).

Charming place with delicious food - Edit
Such a unique place.
Read moreTwo different rooms, one being more suited to dine in (ask for a table seat when booking); and the other, a bit more vivid, meant just to chill out (or to club during the weekends).
Currently, they have also Live music on Wednesdays.
About the food, the menu is short: just a few small plates; but you can have a tasting menu which includes 3 dishes and 1 dessert (for around 50€).
You can also have a larger version of the small plates.
In our case, we had the set. All dishes were delicious (try the wasabi ice-cream if it's still available!).
The staff are friendly and they explain to you every dish as they bring it.
Overall, nice interior (even the menu is lovely), great food and friendly service.
Pros: yummy, nice vibe, friendly staff

Seriously hip - Edit
This place is as much a den as a restaurant, with a back room meant for hanging out with cool people. The front room is small, but we were perfectly comfortable. The food is very innovative and excellent. The staff was lovely, really lovely. While expensive, we didn't feel the restaurant was at all overpriced. We had a really great time and loved this place.
