I loved eating at pick-a-bagel. Their bagels and tofu cream cheese were heavenly. I got the sesame seed bagel with tofu cream cheese on the side. It came with so much cream cheese I ended up getting a second bagel to go! I also got an oat milk latte which was one of the best I’ve had since being in the city!

My favourite vegan bagel in NYC - Edit
I tried a few different places, but thought Pick a Bagel was the tastiest. Whilst it may not have as many vegan spreads as other places, they do the clasics really well. We had the scallion tofu and vegetable tofu spreads, delicious!

After stumbling upon this eatery we ordered a tofu cream cheese bagel & a mushroom bagel. Both were packed with fillings and absolutely delicious, would definitely return for a breakfast, brunch, lunch option!

NYC is famous for its delicious bagels. Many bagel places in NYC offer tofu cream cheese and other vegan spreads, such as peanut butter--and this is one of them. To be sure, the bagels here are fresh and tasty, and the tofu cream cheese is very rich. I had a sesame bagel with a smear of tofu cream cheese, and found it quite filling. Naturally, such a meal is not that healthy. But if a good bagel with tofu cream cheese is what you have a craving for, this place will fit the bill.

I love this place. Best bagels, best tofu cream cheese! Options are limited for vegan eaters, however, and it's likely there is cross-contamination with animal and non-animal products due to the high stress environment of that location. However if that's not an issue for you, give it a try. It's honestly worth it.

There’s no denying this place knows bagels and they know vegan cream cheese. Damn this is some of the finest, smoothest vegan cream cheese I’ve ever tasted. The fact it’s tofu based, which as something of a distinctive taste, makes it even more amazing it tastes, well like cream cheese and not tofu. Pricing is good and there’s a few other things on offer here like fresh juice.
Read moreThe big turnoff for me is the venue. It’s cramped, even though it’s large. The queue system is woeful. Some of the patrons, seemingly regulars are downright rude (not the venue fault I know but it doesn’t help when it’s so cramped). Finally, the staff are a bit hit and miss with their service. It’s like sometimes they don’t listen to what you say; I had to explain 5 times, despite no language barrier, that I wanted a garlic bagel with tofu cream cheese. That’s not a hard order to understand, someone else had to step in and take my order to speed up the queue behind me.

I got a Pumpernickel bagel with tofu cream cheese and it was amazing! The bagels taste fresh and have a perfect texture. I also felt energized after eating and not fatigued. The service was also fast, even though there were a lot of people there. This is an awesome place for vegans to enjoy fresh and delicious New York bagels!
