Reheated old food.

Despite the good reviews here, food took a long time to arrive and when it did was disappointing. Looked and tasted (and suspected from us spying on the chef that day) as if they were warmed up leftovers from a few days ago. Biryani was a mess, clumps of overcooked rice with leftover curry sauce mixed in. However, chef was friendly and the food was very cheap.

Pros: Lots of veggie and vegan options, Cheap

Cons: Food was warmed up in the microwave, Biryani especially terrible, Waiting time long

It's PROBABLY good??🤔😂

First off I have to say, I went to this place at the wrong time! There was only 1 guy working when I popped in. All of the starters and the garlic naan were not available.
I ordered 2 dishes but both he brought out were Not what I ordered. He said there
was 'no powder' for the pakoras? But had no answer for my Dahl? 😂

The chole that he brought out was pretty tasty but the aloo gobi was kinda lacking in taste and the veg was overcooked.

He said his wife was in India for a couple weeks and it sounds like she's the cook & he's the service person so I think he was struggling a bit.

If your in Chiang Mai now, I'd wait till mid Feb to give it a go!

Pros: Lots of cheap options. Thai and Indian. , All vegan and vegetarian , Nice dude

Cons: Options not always there?

We finally have a Pure Veg Indian Place in Chiang Mai

Really great food here at Sarita's! Each dish was freshly prepared, perfectly spiced. As Indian food can be, it was a bit oily, but it was not overly salty. Great selection of curries and breads. The atmosphere is quite simple, you can feel the homeliness of the family that runs the restaurant.

Vegetarians will be overwhelmed with the great food! Vegans will also be overjoyed, but remember to order carefully to be sure that no butter, milk or ghee is in your food.

This location may seem off the beaten path, but it is literally only minutes from the old city square. See you there!

GPS may be a little bit off on some systems. The restaurant is off the main road, down a small soi about 50 metres or so. You can park on the main road, or on the soi in front of the restaurant.

The restaurant occasionally closes when Sarita is catering events, so it might be a good idea to call in advance.

Pros: Great fresh food!, Unbelievably good prices!

Cons: Food is just a little bit oily.

Who knew it existed ?

Tucked away in a quiet lane with not much in the area to attract any foot traffic is the "hidden" small restaurant called Sarita's. They have recently changed their operation to be vegan/vegetarian. The owners appear to be of Indian descent, so I am sure they will understand vegan requirements.

The restaurant is nearby the busy area of Chinatown and around the corner from Kasem Store. The Thai menu is not as diverse as the Indian menu, but on inquiry they can cook other meals according to your order.

Too early to judge the food. It was a little heavy on tofu rather than vegetables, so I need to amend my request next time I go. They have brown rice which makes me happy. It is basic food at a good price.

Pros: Low prices on Thai Food, Quiet Soi in a busy area, Sarita was friendly & helpful

Cons: The Soi is a bit run down. Not an appealing area
