Rude - Edit
Did not eat here. Went in the morning when it said it was open but it was closed. We left and came back later when it was open. When we entered we were not greeted or acknowledged so went to the food counter and the lady very obvously ignored us. We sat down to read the menu as a yoga class came out and some of the yoga people put their stuff right where we were sitting even though there were many other spaces. In the end after being made to feel VERY unwelcome we left. Its a shame because we were really looking forward to eating here and hate giving vegan places a bad review but unfortunately it's just another [censored] yoga joint.

Lovely simple cafe - Edit
This is a calm spot for a light lunch or tea and cake - I had all of the above in fact! The soup set was very tasty and warming with a fresh salad and bread. Then the tea and muffin were equally satisfying; probably one of the nicest muffins I've eaten!

Quick stop shop for lunch - Edit
Small shop tucked away in the Teramachi shopping mall. It has a yoga studio and sells other products too. Small menu, muffins and smoothies available. We had the quiche set and some crumbed fish set and both were amazing. They came with little side condiments so you get the full vegetable needs in the one meal. Flavoursome as fish tasted like fish fingers and the quiche was the first in a vegan version I've tried and it's a better replica, filled with potatoes, beans and greens. Service quite slow. Ambience was really nice and felt om.

Great little find! - Edit
This is a little cafe hiding in plain site in a busy shopping mall. Not a huge choice of food but two great set meals to choose from - both Y1000. Service was a little slow but that suited the leisurely zen atmosphere of the place above the Yoga studio.

Really a small cafe-not a restaurant - Edit
This is a small cafe in a shared space with a tiny health food store and a yoga studio.
Read moreI guess it's right there in the name but I was expecting more food! When I went they only had two food options- a quiche set and another set where I wasn't exactly sure what it was...it had a potage soup, which I don't usually care for. Then you could get items from the sets just on their own.
What they did have was a lot of drinks (teas, coffees), some really good smoothies/nut milks, muffins, and a raw cake.
I had an okara muffin, which was good, but not as good as the muffins at Approiviser, a soy latte, and a strawberry cashew milk.
The strawberry cashew milk was just excellent. It was tart and really refreshing.
I liked the decor and there were books and magazines in Japanese about veganism and yoga.
The proprietor was really nice, which is more than I can say for the woman running the front desk of the yoga studio in the a.m. She looked annoyed at my presence. She only cheered up when I left, lol.
The hours of the cafe are really limited. It didn't open until 11:30 and it closes early too.
If you want great smoothies, come here, but if you want a full meal, go to the Veg Out in the same building as the other branch of Tamisa Yoga. Veg Out is temporarily closed but will reopen at the end of Feb.
You can also try one yoga class for 2000 yen or three for 4000 yen. I took Vinyasa L1 with Saki and it was great. I felt challenged but in a totally safe way. I was disappointed I hadn't gone earlier in my trip so I could have done the three class deal. They also have some classes taught in English or by bilingual teachers.
I rate the cafe 4 stars as a coffee shop/smoothie bar.
Pros: Great smoothies, Good atmosphere inside the restaurant
Cons: Almost no main dishes on offer when I went, Reception lady was cranky, Open for limited hours

Delicious healthy food in a relaxing atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of tourists - Edit
When I'm frustrated because there is a long line at Mumokuteki or Matsuontoko (other vegan friendly spots in the Teramachi shopping arcade), I would always go to Cosy Cafe because there is bound to be a place for me there to relax and get away from the noisy tourists of that area. The portions can be small but are always flavorful and fresh. I especially love the vegan quiche. The only inconvenient thing is that they close early, at around 3pm, so be sure not to miss them if you are planning to visit. They have a great grocery store in the same space as well with lots of vegan and environmental friendly products.

Nice little cafe - Edit
Went there for a late lunch and had the place virtually to myself. Opted for the brown rice set which was pretty good. Ordered an extra slice of quiche to fill me up. The cafe is indeed cozy, and it is a good place to sit with a soy milk cappuccino away from the shoppers. It was also one of the only vegan places open in the area (others had weird closing times that weren't in line with either google's or happy cow's information). It's also next to a yoga studio if that's your thing.

nice cute cafe - Edit
Stumbled upon this cafe on a Tuesday afternoon -- the cafe supposedly closes at 3pm but luckily we were still able to catch a meal then. Friendly service, a little slow as the waiters are also the ones who prep the food. The cafe is located on the second floor and doubles as a shop as well.
Read moreWe ordered the box lunch set which came with assorted side dish vegetables, salad, brown rice, taro(?) dipped in a cream sauce, and fried soy protein as well as a drink. They also offer quiche (which was sold out by the time we got there) as well as assorted vegan desserts! Items are listed in English as well as Japanese on the menu but not in detail
Overall cute cafe with great food, would definitely visit again!
Pros: good food, friendly service, nice atmosphere
Cons: might be hard to find for some, a little slow, limited menu

Not bad - Edit
I came here for lunch on a Saturday at around 2pm. By that time they had ran out of their lunch set, but they still had their quiche set. I do not really like quiche, so I was skeptical about ordering but it turned out to be alright.
Read moreAlong with quiche came a potato soup, salad, and two small side dishes of various veggies. The portion size looked small but the potato soup and quiche were really filling. It was good, but the food was pretty bland.
I also ordered their chai tea, which was very tasty. It comes with sugar on the side, so if you do not like sugary drinks the chai tea as it is might be perfect for you.
The cafe itself is pretty small, but very relaxing. The staff was quite friendly.
It was a bit hard to find, though.
Overall, the food did not make a huge impression on me, so I would not come here again unless I was in the area and very hungry. I can guarantee, though, that it is a safe place for vegans.

lovely food and service - Edit
I was sceptical about visiting this place because of the reviews that say service is slow. Maybe those reviewers went at busy times or on busy days, but I found the service very quick! I had the set lunch menu which changes daily. It was all delicious – a selection of small Japanese dishes. I also got a muffin to take away for breakfast the next day (because breakfast is the meal I'm finding hardest to deal with as a vegan in Japan).
Read moreThe cafe is attached to a shop selling (mostly?) vegan foods. I couldn't resist buying a block of 'Choco cookie' vegan chocolate.

Triple choice: Yoga classes, vegan cafe and shop. - Edit
Cosy Cafe is located inside the famous Teramachi shopping arcade, a few hundred meters from the Honno-ji temple that marks the Northern entrance of the shopping arcade. The Cosy Cafe is on the second floor (ground floor + 1) and is part of Tamisa, a yoga school. You enter a wide open space that is filled with Vegan items to buy, ranging from pasta to cosmetics etc. A yoga class was being held at a room next door to the cafe. They have set menus, with 2 or 3 different choices for around 1.000 Yen. I took the vegetable quiche menu that came with a side dish of salad and a nice potato soup. As a drink I ordered the smoothie of the day, which was banana-based and delicious. You have two sitting areas, one close to the counter where you place your order with high tables and chairs, and an other area on the opposite with sunken tables, which makes it difficult for stiff non-Japanese people like me to get inside. The food took a few minutes to arrive but it was quite good, especially the potato soup. At the end of the meal, I ordered another shake and a raw vegan mango cake. Worth a visit.
