Best bagel and tofu spread

Omg it was delicious. 10/10 would recommend. Staff is super friendly. Very cute spot. Quick and at least 4 choices of spread for bagel. I had the tofu scallions with everything bagel and a split pea soup. 👌🏼

Solid

Staff was knowledgeable about the vegan options and generous with the tofu cream, which itself was quite nice. Staff seemed a little rude at first, but turned out to be really kind! The place itself is comfy.

Pros: Tasty, Big portion

Cons: Many animal products on display , Limited options , No hummus even though it’s on the menu

Meh

The staff wernt very helpful when I asked what was vegan and it felt like they didn’t want me there lol but after I got a bagel with tofu cream cheese alternative, it was flavourless. But atleast they had soemthing I could eat I guess?

Typical NYC bagel shop

I have been to Tal Bagels plenty of times, both here in at their 86th Street location. The bagels are good here (just make sure to ask for what is warmest and freshest). Then again, the bagels in any NYC bagel shop will be good, and just about all NYC bagel shops have choices for tofu spreads, so there is little that makes this one stand out.

Pros: Tasty bagels, some vegan spreads

Cons: Not really a vegan-oriented place, not much different from other NYC bagel shops

Limited but good options

I had sesame and everything bagels with the tofu vegetable spread and it was super yummy. There are two other vegan spreads. Good place to go if you are visiting New York with non-vegan friends and want to try bagels
