Yummmmm, walkable from Waikiki

Book ahead, this place is rightfully popular! We had a delicious meal, and tried the bao buns (great), gyoza (eh), grilled mushrooms (outstanding), ramen (fine), and some specialty sushi rolls that were decadent and satisfying. We could see why most people around us were focusing on the sushi and not ordering ramen; it's really the area where they shine, along with the mushroom dish, which I could eat every day. Lovely ambience.

Pros: Ultimate sushi, Innovative flavors, Wide selection

So good we ordered the same meal takeout the next night

Best vegan meal we’ve had in our 3 years eating vegan. So bummed we have to go back to ho hum meals. The Wedge and Half Moon out of this world. Loved the bao. Someone we met at our hotel mentioned they ate here and it was awesome and now I’m telling you.

Pros: Taste, texture and presentation superb, Extensive menu, Price is fair for extraordinary food

Cons: My husband can’t manage chop sticks, Had no idea what to order…so many choices, Not in Boston

Reliable vegan food

This is a good option for when you want a fancier vegan meal. I've been eating here for years. The food is consistently elegantly presented and the atmosphere feels high end. The service is usually good. The sushi and ramen are always tasty. Unfortunately the dessert is usually uninspired but it as japanese restaurant so no surprise there. I often eat here with a gluten free friend. She has never gotten sick in all the times we've come here. That's rare because she's pretty sensitive to cross contamination. So they run a tight kitchen.

Perfect Place to Pig Out on Sushi

We went here for my birthday. There were five of us, and we ordered just about half the menu between us. It was so much fun! I cannot remember what all the dishes are called that we got. A few of the rolls and the agedashi tofu were disappointing, but over all the food was phenomenal. We had meat eaters in our party, and by far the biggest hit with them was the bao. One even said it was the best bao he's ever had! Out of everything we tried, two of us (including me) loved the Avocado Nigiri the best. It's so simple, but the flavors are just perfectly balanced into the perfect bite. The other memorable dish was the roll with the beet slices on it. I can't remember what it's called, but it was so unusual. You truly have to eat the whole giant piece at once to experience all the complex flavors working together. Overall yes, go here, you wont regret it if you love good sushi. :)

Pros: All vegan, Lots of options, Veggie sushi lovers rejoice!

Cons: They are a little militant about reservations

Worth the wait

This place was fantastic. We left Hawaii in may and im still thinking about the Wedge and the Pacifica. You confirm several times that it’s vegan because it’s that good. Every single person we took there was blown away. The owner is a delight, he worked most nights we were there. This place couldn’t have been any better, it was that good.

Pros: Everything is vegan , The specialty rolls are gold , The staff is delightful

Cons: Can be expensive but that’s shushi, it’s expected

Everyone will love the food!

If you’re in Honolulu, you must visit! Recently went with family and I was the only vegan, but everyone loved the food! The rolls are innovative, tasty, and such a nice change to be able to order anything at a Japanese restaurant. Our favourites rolls were the sunset, ewa, wedge and the gyoza and mushroom tempura are a must!

Pros: Delicious food, Lots of options

Cons: There is a 90 min max per seating

Expensive sushi and worth it!

Book a reservation online in advance. We loved the vegan sushi at Tane! We tried 3 of the specialty rolls, along with 2 of the nigiri. The special rolls were amazing, as was the inari nigiri.

Service and atmosphere were very nice, and the staff kept our table clear as they brought out more dishes. We also had the dessert crème brûlée with pistachio ice cream, which was pretty good, though not quite worth the cost.

Definitely go for the specialty rolls!

Watch your credit card

Food is excellent! Pay with cash or watch your bill carefully. They charged my card for my bill, charged me for other customer’s meals other than my own, then gave me someone else’s card. The service is mediocre for the level of cuisine and atmosphere.

Tried to eat it all

I brought my family of 11 here visiting from Austin and SLC. We tried to order the whole menu, we tried. Service was great, rolls came out fast then kept coming and coming. Then the Nigiri, the Ramen, Brussels, pot stickers, on and on. Nothing we didn’t love. All that and we only spent $580 including auto grat of 18%. Make reservations though. They open at 4:30pm. This is a “nice” place, you can dress up for a date and feel fine or wear your Hawaii shirt with flip flops and be ok too.

Pros: All vegan. , Amazing beers. , Fast but fancy

Cons: Outside the hotel zone

Great ramen

My husband and I loved the take-out spicy garlic miso ramen & gyoza we got! We went back for a dine-in date night. The sushi was pretty good (my favorite rolls were the spicy tofuna roll & the wedge; half moon, Point Reyes, & Ewa were pretty good). I was disappointed in the chocolate cake with pistachio ice cream dessert (cake was dry & it carried a $20 price tag). My husband got a Mai Tai which was borderline undrinkable - way too sweet.

GO HERE!!!

Food was REALLY good. Felt really special having a more “up scale” dining experience but fully vegan. Definitely come after you’ve showered if you’re vacationing and outdoors all day😉Our server was so nice; we couldn’t decide which nigiri we wanted so we had the chef pick. Can’t go wrong with anything. Eggplant nigiri was a favorite.

The Best

I am a seasoned traveler, and have dined in fine establishments across the globe. This night, I had THE BEST DINING EXPERIENCE of my life. Without being intrusive, our server and staff made sure everything was perfect. No sooner did I set my water glass down than was it filled. No sooner did I finish one of my rolls, was the empty plate removed from the table. The bill arrived at the perfect time, and we left un-rushed from one of the best vegan meals I have ever had. Edema-me just right spice, brussel sprouts with just a touch of wasabi, so good. Six rolls to our table nearly simultaneously, each as delicious as the last. I loved the experience, and even more the food. Do yourself a favor and eat here. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for, and it is definitely worth it.
