Amazing variety and quality of vegan sushi - Edit
We were lucky to be able to find a spot in this busy vegan restaurant. We happened to walk in and someone had just called to cancel a reservation.
Read moreThe selection of sushi is great. I highly recommend the wedge.
The ramen was good but not the best vegan ramen I have tried.
Pros: A wide selection of vegan sushi, All vegan manu, Friendly staff
Cons: Not really a "con", try to make reservations

Run, don't walk - Edit
To get the best vegan sushi ever. I've had beyond sushi in nyc and feel spoiled to have wellness sushi at home in Denver, but this floored me and might've been the best veg sushi I ever had. We had three rolls: the wedge, point reyes, and the Pacifica. Skip the apps so you have more room for rolls :)

Best and fastest sushi ever. - Edit
I followed all of the advise people gave on happy cow. So we'll dressed, just ordering special stuff no dessert etc
Read moreOur bill wasn't that expensive for the amount that we ate. I still had to drive so I only had one beer. Great flavour great presentation.
On a less positive note if you don't drink alcohol, you have 2 options
Of drinks on a menu filled with alcoholic beverages. The least positive we've found was being rushed. The waiter was standing next to us to take the plate away, while I was trying to grab the last sushi with my chopsticks several times. Maybe due to Covid regulations and/or popularity but that didn't give me the feeling of a relaxed night out in a restaurant But like everyone else said; best sushi ever. #Veganuary

Amazing food - Edit
Unusual to find a vegan Japanese restaurant. This is one of the best restaurants we have been to and we travel a lot. Outstanding food. Nice atmosphere. We went with non vegans who loved it. Highly recommend. We almost didn’t go and would have missed one of the highlights of our trip.

Nothing Fishy About It!! - Edit
As vegans we became all too familiar with avo and cucumber rolls at sushi joints, but at Tane… you can pick from the entire menu because it’s all vegan!! Great Japanese lagers and pilsners. Yummy, yet authentic Japanese starters (e.g. goma, edamame, etc.), classic rolls and a long list of creative rolls with fun California and Hawaii beach names. We recommend The Wedge, The Leahi, & The Kailua. #Veganuary

No stars really - took reservations but wasn’t open - Edit
We made a reservation for Christmas eve on 19th and had an email confirmation of the reservation. We went there and the doors were shut. No emails or calls to us, just a note on the door telling they’ve been closed from 23th! Nothing on their website or social media either. So 2 Uber rides for nothing and no food for us tonight. They had all the opportunities to tell us what’s going on. Not good at all especially for a vegan business. Really shame.

Expensive, no walk-in dine-in - Edit
This place is so good that I have to put all the cons right in the title.
Read more“If you can see a doctor, you can dine at Tane Vegan Izakaya”, even if you can’t dine-in, take out is always an option, and that’s what I did.
Ordered Shio Ramen, California rolls and Sunset rolls. They were fantastic! I was initially a little sceptical about the ramen, but their soup completely changed my perspective and has now set a standard for ramen noodles, my omnivore girlfriend commented that the mock meat tasted identical to the real thing 五花肉, and the soup base was strong in umami.
Their sushi rice was of high quality and well cooked, this was the preface base for sushi rolls. I enjoyed both sushi rolls without dipping them into soy sauce.
I would love to dine-in at this location, but eating in a rental car and spilling some ramen soup on my hiking short definitely did not spoil the taste. On the other hand, it gave me an excuse to get another pair of pants.
Pros: Super duper sushi, Great ramen
Cons: Expensive, Requires reservation for dine-in, Killing next-door mini garden restaurant’s biz

Exceptional food - Edit
Sushi both veganized and new creations that are absolutely delicious. Second time coming here and once again I over ordered (leftovers for lunch tomorrow, hooray!), and smiled throughout my dinner. Even something as “simple” as grilled mushrooms comes across as the best thing you’ve ever tasted!

Best Sushi - Edit
Seriously, this may be the best sushi I have ever had.
Read moreI didn't read enough reviews, so I didn't know it was a fancy place. We walked there in the rain in casual clothes without a reservation. They treated us well and sat us at the bar.
Our server recommended three rolls, which we ordered, my wife ordered another one of her favorites, and I ordered the tomato nigiri. Everything was fantastic. Honestly, the rolls are the best, because they are creative with the combinations knowing the illusion created when you put the whole bite in your mouth. The nigiri was very good, but it still tastes like tomato.
This is a gem. Don't skip it.

We got a lot of different stuff, but those Brussel sprouts, omg I'd go just for those. I recommend the bean curd nigiri too.

The Best - Edit
This has to be one of the best Vegan restaurants I have ever been to. The food is delicious uniformly and the service is quick, responsive and friendly.
Read moreWe started with the garlic edamame, the vegan gyoza and the brussel sprouts, the latter two which were fried - I would have preferred steamed if I had a choice. All were extremely flavorful especially the brussel sprouts. We then ordered the poke salad which was full of tasty cubes of tofu.
Yuba, tomato, okra and pepper nigiri followed. Their specialty rolls were out of this world delicious. The wedge - purportedly their most popular - was crunchy with a beautiful combination of flavors. Along with the sunset roll, it was my favorite.
The only item I was not enamored with was the Konyaku ceviche which tasted a bit bland with the Taro chips. As I alluded to above, the service was impeccable. However from the start of our meal, we must have been reminded at least three or four times that our table was only available 1 1/2 hours until the next seating - a little too much.

Delicious and very expensive - Edit
Great sushi, the brussels are amazing. There are a few things that I wouldn't order again, which is a shame for the price. The ramen was okay, but there's better ramen to be had. The chicken patties are great for kids, but nothing special..

"This is the body of Christ..." A direct quote from our table tonight about The Wedge roll. If you like sushi, if you don't like sushi but think you might if it were vegan, go here. If you hate sushi, go here and try their offerings, if you still hate sushi, you can give up because it's never going to be any better than this.

Absolutely incredible - Edit
This food is shockingly good, the presentation will set your expectation for taste high - but the taste will somehow exceed what you expected. We only had sushi and one appetizer so I can't speak to a lot of the menu. The brussel sprouts that we shared as an appetizer set the bar high from the start, certainly some of the best and most original I have had. After we tried many of the specialty sushi rolls as well as a few classics, it seemed that each one was better than the last. The classic rolls taste just as incredible as the specialties just with less flare - so if you are on a budget don't be afraid to stick to the cheaper options... highly recommend this restaurant.
