¡Larga vida a Yukiko!

Loved the ramen and gyozas - Edit
We ordered the soy milk ramen and a number of sides. The flavor of the broth really stood out as exceptional and the fried gyozas were our favorite of the sides. The ambiance of the restaurant was also very nice, including a garden and beautiful decor.

Un-satisfied - Edit
All in all a disappointing dining experience at UNO Ramen. We called by the restaurant in person to find out if we could make a reservation for the following day, to be told that we needed to book online, which we subsequently did. The online options only permitted us to book an overpriced set menu, which we had to pay for online in advance. The basic set we chose was called the “Satisfied” set and we were anything but satisfied with our meal.
Read moreOn arrival at the restaurant, it was unclear to us whether they were especially short-staffed on the night, but the service was chaotic. The single server, though friendly and well-intentioned, seemed rushed off her feet. Consequently we - and guests on adjacent tables - were left for long periods of time between courses, accompanying sauces missing and crockery not provided, water wasn’t offered and we needed to ask more than once for the drinks menu on our table, as did the customers on the two adjacent tables. The food was nothing out of the ordinary - the vegan sushi was beautiful to look at and tasty, though would have been nicer if the server had remembered our soy sauce at the same time. Not sure if it was just a bad night, but we would have expected much better for the price and from the reviews. The Tan-tan noodles are pretty ordinary - maybe try the fast food T Tan-Tan restaurant at Tokyo Train Station (five stars) instead for vegan ramen!
Be sure to check out the menu options before booking, as other diners were clearly able to order a la carte. Or better still, go somewhere else - there are plenty of other more professional and more affordable vegan options fo be had in Kyoto.

Lecker, aber teuer. - Edit
Es gibt 4 Rahmen und Nachtische wie Cookies und Eis. Es gibt auch Bentoboxen. Rahmen schmeckt lecker, jedoch auch teuer. Einfacher Rahmen kostet 2.310 Yen = 12,30€ stand 04/2026.

Very unique experience - Edit
Coming here was a very unique experience! I felt like this place was a little bit more elegant than others (you have to take your shoes off, very calm atmosphere etc.) and so was the food. It's a little expensive but so worth it!
Read moreI tried most of the sushi (with vegan shrimps or vegan squid). Some were better than others but every piece was exciting. I really fell in love with their homemade specialty: grilled yuba and vegan cheese. It tasted like an omelette with cheese on rice and I don't know if it has anything to do with sushi but it was insanely delicious! 😍
Also try the sake! It comes in a wooden box and when you finish your glass you just continue drinking out of the box it was crazy and so fun 😄

Amazing! - Edit
The setting is beautiful - although sitting on the floor was not the comfiest but was such a cool experience! We booked and had a set menu which included making our own tofu which was a nice touch. The food was phenomenal and I have never left a restaurant so full!

Beautiful place and service - Edit
I went to the original one several times in 2023 and went back 3 years later. This new location is so much better, the place is beautiful and the ramen was better here too (maybe I just got a bad one in the original location).

Wife says 800 stars to this - Edit
we loved our late afternoon lunch. I had 2 desserts, Ramen, tofu , dumpling - loved it all. i maybe made a mess of tofu by overheating or putting the wrong spices. But we loved our experience here and the chef described each item to us.

Positive Experience, However Concern Over Ingredient Information - Edit
The food itself was fresh and well presented, and service was polite. However, I feel it’s important to highlight an issue we experienced.
Read moreOn our first visit, I explicitly asked whether any dishes contained alcohol and was told no. On our second visit, I asked again and was then told that some items do contain alcohol.
For customers who avoid alcohol for religious reasons, this is not a small detail. Vegan does not automatically mean alcohol-free. Being given incorrect information is concerning, and staff should be fully informed about ingredients when asked directly.
I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as transparency is essential.

Edit

If visiting Kyoto, this is the place that one cannot miss. - Edit
One of the vegan restaurant open over the new year and I had to personally find out for myself why they also received Happycow Award. Went there for dinner after visiting Kiyomizu Dera. Here's my rating:
Read moreOkara Croquette - Evenly fried, hot, soft and mushy on the inside, love the contrast.
Ramen HANA - Is a very natural soup ramen that doesn't feel like I am missing out even without the bone broth. It has its own depth that I myself can't help but be amazed that unique aftertaste can leave an unforgettable impression, it's like it has it's own signature taste that is unique to it's own brand.
Vegan Sushi - Simply delicious!
I appreciate very much they were open during the new years when many vegan/vegetarian establishment had rest days.
Pros: Feels at home, Appreciate the South Asian and East Asian Staffs, It has it's own signature ramen broth taste.

Köstliches Rahmen!! - Edit
Endlich Rahmen in Japan essen können! Sehr leckere Nudeln.

Very traditional - Edit
Very near Gion, we found this vegan place. They don't seem to have "veganized" the dishes, but rather conceived them vegan from the start.
Read moreThe ramen was good. The fried gyozas where truly amazing. The tea was quite nice and the dessert was quite good as well.
Note that for the ramen, they also give you a number of spices as to make it suit your taste. You can always just not use them and the dish will be just fine.
Also, one of the most important aspects of this restaurann was the place itself. Traditionally decorated, tatamis, low tables and such. I would highly advise to get a reservation beforehand to ensure you have the best tables though. We had no trouble, but during high-demand hours, I would assume the reservations are important.
Pros: Gyozas were amazing, Top-tier decoration
Cons: A bit on the more expensive side

Don’t miss this experience! - Edit
While I’m only on day 2 of my trip to Japan, I anticipate this restaurant will be a highlight. I went with a group of 6 (I’m vegan and my partner is vegetarian but everyone else in our party eats fish), and we all loved it. We shared several of the sushi dishes and the gyoza and each got a ramen. Everything was incredible! Even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t miss out on dessert and my matcha truffle was worth it!
