¡Larga vida a Yukiko!

Edit

Different taste than other Ramen - Edit
It tasted different than all Ramen we had before, my boyfriend LOVED it, I think I have to get used to it but it was good. The rice with cheese sadly tasted burnt.

Izakaya molto carino - Edit

If visiting Kyoto, this is the place that one cannot miss. - Edit
One of the vegan restaurant open over the new year and I had to personally find out for myself why they also received Happycow Award. Went there for dinner after visiting Kiyomizu Dera. Here's my rating:
Read moreOkara Croquette - Evenly fried, hot, soft and mushy on the inside, love the contrast.
Ramen HANA - Is a very natural soup ramen that doesn't feel like I am missing out even without the bone broth. It has its own depth that I myself can't help but be amazed that unique aftertaste can leave an unforgettable impression, it's like it has it's own signature taste that is unique to it's own brand.
Vegan Sushi - Simply delicious!
I appreciate very much they were open during the new years when many vegan/vegetarian establishment had rest days.
Pros: Feels at home, Appreciate the South Asian and East Asian Staffs, It has it's own signature ramen broth taste.

Köstliches Rahmen!! - Edit
Endlich Rahmen in Japan essen können! Sehr leckere Nudeln.

Very traditional - Edit
Very near Gion, we found this vegan place. They don't seem to have "veganized" the dishes, but rather conceived them vegan from the start.
Read moreThe ramen was good. The fried gyozas where truly amazing. The tea was quite nice and the dessert was quite good as well.
Note that for the ramen, they also give you a number of spices as to make it suit your taste. You can always just not use them and the dish will be just fine.
Also, one of the most important aspects of this restaurann was the place itself. Traditionally decorated, tatamis, low tables and such. I would highly advise to get a reservation beforehand to ensure you have the best tables though. We had no trouble, but during high-demand hours, I would assume the reservations are important.
Pros: Gyozas were amazing, Top-tier decoration
Cons: A bit on the more expensive side

Don’t miss this experience! - Edit
While I’m only on day 2 of my trip to Japan, I anticipate this restaurant will be a highlight. I went with a group of 6 (I’m vegan and my partner is vegetarian but everyone else in our party eats fish), and we all loved it. We shared several of the sushi dishes and the gyoza and each got a ramen. Everything was incredible! Even though we were stuffed, we couldn’t miss out on dessert and my matcha truffle was worth it!

Pathetic service - Edit
Gekka Dandan spicy sesame based ramen, curry rice with a soy free hamburger patty, and gyoza were all pretty average.
Read moreThe Sakura cocktail with soy milk whipped cream and the matcha soy were good, especially the Sakura cocktail, which had a refreshingly unique taste.
The strawberry shortcake was delicious, and the matcha truffle was average.
They offered us a spice box even though we clearly said no. We expect Japanese food at a Japanese restaurant, not tikka masala. If other people expect that, it’s their problem. If you’re confident in your food, you wouldn’t ask customers to modify it.

Ramen with make your own tofu - Edit
We were lucky and were seated without a reservation. We sat at one of two horigotatsu tables that have a recess for your legs. The specialty of this place is do it yourself tofu making - you mix the ingredients and cook it for 10 minutes at your table, and add seasoning to suit. It works. Their ramen and dandan noodles were very good, as were the sesame pudding and yuzu brulee desserts. The presentation and ambience were lovely.

Average - Edit
I dont understand much the fuss with this place, the food is ok but far from amazing. I give it credit that its vegan and therefore should deserve extra credit, but the ramen is just not that good. The sushi is again average and I saw the kitchen opening things from packages and serving it directly into a plate, named tofu, coffee and a type of dessert.

The place is absolutely stunning and the food was overall pretty good. I don’t eat gluten-free food by choice, but the ramen and dessert were very good. Konjac noodles aren’t usually enjoyable for me, but the pairing with the creamy ramen made it great. The cake and matcha ice cream were my favorite
