Turkish Cuisine reinvented

This place has a family-like atmosphere with staff who know what vegan means. Everything offered is vegan and they even sell vegan cheese and tofu.
It's easy to find, the menu changes daily and you have many options to choose from.
Affordable, comfy and... delicious ;)

Pros: Vegan only, Affordable, Yummy

Cons: Small

Awesome little vegan place with friendly owner

We walked into this restaurant with no idea what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by the wide arrange of choices! We definitely recommend the eggplant stew and the homemade frittata. We had had so much food that we unfortunately could not have dessert, but all of the cakes looked very tasty as well!

Pros: Lots of choice, tasty food, friendly owners, cheap

Cons: A bit cold inside

Simple and tasty

My husband and I are vegans and we were craving for some desserts. We had the cake made with dates and cinnamon and the chocolate cake. Both were delicious and moist! We ordered a Turkish coffee as well and it was the perfect combination we were looking for. The owners were lovely and welcoming. The place is very simple and clean. We ended up getting some food for take away which was very nice and inexpensive. They also sell some vegan products.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Location

Yum.

Really tasty home-cooking kind of food and if you’re sick of eating falafel and hummus while you’re in Istanbul, come here for some other options. Delicious dessert too, the chocolate ball things with coconut were heavenly.

Amazing food and service

Best vegan food in Turkey! If you are looking for local vegan food, They had amazing Manti, vegan lahmacun, cigarette Börek, Gözleme, and many more! So good! We went there 4 times in one week we had in Istanbul. We talked with the owners for a long time, they were such nice people and recommended us places to visit on our trip through turkey. They gave us tea for free which was very nice. Totally recommend this place for everyone looking for amazing vegan turkish food you wont find better food anywhere!

Pros: friendly staff, good food, good price

Nice selection, overall ok.

Brought my non-vegan friends but the food didn’t look appetizing enough for them to try. I had a few options and it was okay but definitely not as good as other vegan restaurants I’ve been to. Food was cold in middle and had to ask for it to be reheated. Not worth as a tourist but I’d definitely come back if I was a local as the owner is nice and food is good considering the limited vegan options in Istanbul. Must add the baklava was delicious!

Pros: Tasty baklava, Vegan friendly, Pick and choose options per plate

Cons: Gets microwaved and may be cold in middle , Not very appetizing to non-vegan friends

Just like the street food up the road, but without the cruelty!

It’s been ten years since my last visit to Istanbul, at which time I (pre-vegan) enjoyed to street food / simple restaurants where you can point and choose the yummy looking local dishes. This place let’s you enjoy the local goodness but without the cruelty.

Pros: Totally vegan , Convincing versions of local favorites, In nice, interesting neighborhood

Cons: Food ‘good’ but not outstanding

Ok but not great

The mücver was fantastic, the mantı and fela(?) Were ok and soy meat stew rather bland. Didn't have room left for the desserts which looked awesome.

Pros: Everything's vegan!, Cheap!

Great Options

This place has many vegan options such as vegan cake filled with vegan chocolate. It also sells vegan products. I’ve tried vegan lahmacun and dumplings and they’re both delicious.

Amazing!!!! omg

Every thing is vegan! Yesssss. The owner is such a cute nice lady. I got the 4 entree meal so i could try as much as possible. We got monti, dolmeh, a squash casserole, and a lentil ball thing. The only thing is the yogurt on the monti (as well as the yogurt drink) is way too salty for my taste. But everything was absolutely delicious. And then we got a slice of chocolate cake and baklava. The sweet syrup from the baklava went really well with the cake. They also sell some products on the side. Def going back

Pros: all vegan , nice staff

Tasty food, very nice cakes

We had lunch here twice.... The concept that you can choose 3 types of food on your place out of maybe 12, is really nice. The heat it with microwave, but that is fine with me.
The cakes were amazing, had marble cake and the best baklava ever...

Pros: nice tasty food, reasonable price

Variety of choice

Vegan Istanbul is both a small shop for your vegan food supplies as well as a restaurant with a variety of food ready for eating. They let you choose from a big selection of dishes that you can mix on your plate as you wish at a price of just 15 TR per plate.
They also have great teas and some yummy desserts.

Pros: Cheap vegan products for sale, Variety of choices to pick from, Good tea

Cheap and tasty traditional Turkish food

Lots of (all vegan) options and a great place to try veganized Turkish foods. The staff are friendly and will explain all the foods to you if it is your first time there.

My favourites were the eggplant and soy meat, and a salad with lentils and beans. My (meat eating) boyfriend loved the vegan donor duram (wrap) and found it very meat like and similar in terms of flavour,so a good place for vegans/veggos and also meat eaters. I only tried one of the desserts; a chocolate/nutty cake which was freaking amazing and not too heavy either. The shop upstairs sells sounds/nut based milk, pasta and sauce, homemade pickled veggies and jams etc.

I think they do microwave the warm foods but I don't think it really effected the taste or texture of anything I tried, and seems more hygienic than he food being heated all day long and served.

Pros: Cheap!, Tastey good, Quiet and local

Cons: None!

nice little place in Istanbul.

Was worried I wouldn't be able to eat much in Istanbul before finding this little place with a nice selection of fully vegan dishes. They even have a few dessert available that looked pretty tasty. Definitely worth a second look when I get back to Istanbul next week.

Pros: fully vegan menu nice setting

Cons: small place not fit for large group.

Sweet little Turkish mom and pop cafe

This lives next door to Istanbul's only vegan shop which also deserves your patronage. The food is authentic, cheap and the owners are lovely. It is indeed pre-prepared but it was very fresh and this is a small business offering a rare service. On the day I ate there the highlight was the owner's delicious cake invention. The vegan lahmacun was also delicious.

Really nice to have the traditional food veganized! The family is really cute. The food is a bit oily and prepared I'm advance, that's why only 4 stars. But great initiative, cheap and tasty!!

This family run cafe and store have A good selection of homemade food, which are mostly vegan versions of traditional Turkish dishes including cig kofte. As other reviewers note, they don't have much English but they are helpful
