Would give 5 stars if I could!!! - Edit
Our server Bria was so helpful in showing us all of the vegan options, and there were a LOT! This would be a great place to go with omni friends, but honestly there were enough options to share between a group of vegans as well. Everything was delicious. The Rico was one of the tastiest dishes we had while visiting New Orleans!

Cannot get the 5th star to light but if I could I would. This is a must-go place in NOLA! We tried several dishes. They were all different and all wonderful. Sevice was great and staff was very friendly! Thanks for providing a tasty welcome to the Big Easy.

I'd Give 5 Stars If I Could! - Edit
Carmo was fantastic! It was a last minute addition to our trip, a local we met told us that we had to visit, and I'm so glad we did!
Read moreA bit odd that it's 90% vegan yet still serve animal products but hey, it seems to be a place that's about good, healthy food above anything else.
I honestly had the most delicious salad of my life, the Esmerelda salad, and a great warm dish called the Rico.
Such an interesting and varied menu I've never seen before! Think tropical, exciting new flavours, fruit juices you've never heard of, and cool interiors that reflect the food.
Combined with wonderful staff, this is a must for any foodie visiting NOLA!
Pros: Interesting, new flavours, Friendly staff, Amazing salad!
Cons: Serves animal flesh

My vegan meal was 5 star here, loved it. Very flavorful and the staff was kind. - Edit
Cool vibe with good music, lovely staff and scrummy food. The best kind of messy sandwich, banging flavor and a bit of spice. Yum.

Adequate Vegan Food - Edit
We went to Carmo because it was highly recommended for vegans and vegetarians. It was...fine. Nothing special, especially not for the price. We ate at several other veggie restaurants in NOLA, and I'd go back to them (Sweet Soulfood, Seed, etc.) before I'd come back here. Don't get me wrong, the food was fine, it just didn't live up to the hype, and the other places were simply better. Maybe if you're a really big fan of tropical cuisine it would really work for you?

Really delicious meal. Came for breakfast and found lots of good vegan options, fresh juices, and fun atmosphere.

This is also meat eater friendly. So it’s a good place to go with non-vegans.

Okay, tasty, nice atmosphere, small portions - Edit
Title pretty much covers it. Staff were okay, although the lady who served me wasn’t the friendliest. There’s a cool vibe in the cafe. You don’t get much food for your money though, despite it being tasty. No separate vegan section on menu but there are several vegan replacement options.

So good! - Edit
They have vegan options for basically e writhing on the menu including mock meat and cheese. The staff are super friendly and the service was pretty quick even though it was a packed lunch time. The venue is also really cool with lots of art, and the local is pretty close to everything in the French quarter.

Tough review to write. I suspect that on another night we would have loved this place. But our server was absent minded and negligent to the point of rudeness. I’d give them the benefit of doubt that he was just having a bad night but, still, our experience was what it was.

We had a wonderful Carmo salad (they were out of vegan ham, tho). Also had one of the daily soup specials and the Peruvian Bowl. A real treat was the Brazilian cheese bread. Pretty sure it was made with Daiya. Good option for a vegan lunch in the warehouse district!

interesting, unusual delicious food!! - Edit
Visiting from the UK my meat eating hubby and I visited twice. Firstly for dinner I had a Trinidadian curry which was delicious, full table service. Secondly we visited for lunch which is order at till and I had an Angolan stew dish. Both vegan dishes I had were amazing and meat eating hubby said they were far nicer than his ha ha. I love how they are so laid back about veganising almost everything on the menu and would thoroughly recommend [censored]

Plenty of options, great food. Loved the music and vibe. I had the broken noodle salad and banquette bread. Salad was awesome, bread was good but not as good. Would love to come back because they had other great looking vegan options.

Very Tasty & Many Vegan Options - Edit
This place is great. Best food we had in New Orleans during our stay. The atmosphere is very nice in a casual but classy way. Cocktails were excellent. Heirloom tomato salad was excellent. Cambodian sour soup a little too sweet but otherwise good. My wife is not vegan and had shrimp. I had a plantain and fake beef dish which I loved. They also have tasty vegan cakes for desert.

RICO is the way to go - Edit
Our Airbnb was right down the block from this place and I wish we discovered it sooner! Most options can be made vegan. I got their entree of the day which was red beans, rice, veggies and vegan sausage - it was really good. I also ordered their vegan Brazilian Cheese bites and they were so good!
