5 stars if I could!

A must if you’re in NOLA! The build your own sandwich and Rico are INCREDIBLE! Highly recommend this place. They have vegan ham, daiya cheese, veganaise and a Cajun mustard that is really good!

Pros: High quality , Reasonable prices, Delicious

Cons: Not a ton of vegan options

Amazing

I had the Rico, vegan style. It was one of the best vegan dishes I’ve ever had. If I could give this place 5 stars I would! Would recommend to a friend.

Pros: Delicious , Lots of vegan options

Cons: Can be pricy

Would give 5 stars if I could!!!

Our server Bria was so helpful in showing us all of the vegan options, and there were a LOT! This would be a great place to go with omni friends, but honestly there were enough options to share between a group of vegans as well. Everything was delicious. The Rico was one of the tastiest dishes we had while visiting New Orleans!

5 stars all the way

Cannot get the 5th star to light but if I could I would. This is a must-go place in NOLA! We tried several dishes. They were all different and all wonderful. Sevice was great and staff was very friendly! Thanks for providing a tasty welcome to the Big Easy.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly staff, Great atmosphere and music

I'd Give 5 Stars If I Could!

Carmo was fantastic! It was a last minute addition to our trip, a local we met told us that we had to visit, and I'm so glad we did!
A bit odd that it's 90% vegan yet still serve animal products but hey, it seems to be a place that's about good, healthy food above anything else.
I honestly had the most delicious salad of my life, the Esmerelda salad, and a great warm dish called the Rico.
Such an interesting and varied menu I've never seen before! Think tropical, exciting new flavours, fruit juices you've never heard of, and cool interiors that reflect the food.
Combined with wonderful staff, this is a must for any foodie visiting NOLA!

Pros: Interesting, new flavours, Friendly staff, Amazing salad!

Cons: Serves animal flesh

My vegan meal was 5 star here, loved it. Very flavorful and the staff was kind.

Cool vibe with good music, lovely staff and scrummy food. The best kind of messy sandwich, banging flavor and a bit of spice. Yum.

Adequate Vegan Food

We went to Carmo because it was highly recommended for vegans and vegetarians. It was...fine. Nothing special, especially not for the price. We ate at several other veggie restaurants in NOLA, and I'd go back to them (Sweet Soulfood, Seed, etc.) before I'd come back here. Don't get me wrong, the food was fine, it just didn't live up to the hype, and the other places were simply better. Maybe if you're a really big fan of tropical cuisine it would really work for you?

Pros: Huge Portions

Cons: Expensive

Excellent service and delicious food

Great place to bring non-vegan friends but we had a fabulous all vegan meal. Out server, Emma, helped us pick out appetizers and entrees we could share. We finished it by sharing two dessert along with an almond milk cappuccino.

Pros: Lots of delicious vegan options, Great blend of cultures and flavors, Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere

Cons: Some of the dishes used commercial products

Loved the unique flavors

Really delicious meal. Came for breakfast and found lots of good vegan options, fresh juices, and fun atmosphere.

Had the peruano and vegan banana cake. Both were amazing. The vegan sausage was also a good add on for the dish.

This is also meat eater friendly. So it’s a good place to go with non-vegans.

Okay, tasty, nice atmosphere, small portions

Title pretty much covers it. Staff were okay, although the lady who served me wasn’t the friendliest. There’s a cool vibe in the cafe. You don’t get much food for your money though, despite it being tasty. No separate vegan section on menu but there are several vegan replacement options.

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Small portions, No separate vegan section on menu

So good!

They have vegan options for basically e writhing on the menu including mock meat and cheese. The staff are super friendly and the service was pretty quick even though it was a packed lunch time. The venue is also really cool with lots of art, and the local is pretty close to everything in the French quarter.

Good food

Tough review to write. I suspect that on another night we would have loved this place. But our server was absent minded and negligent to the point of rudeness. I’d give them the benefit of doubt that he was just having a bad night but, still, our experience was what it was.

Pros: Imaginative menu, Good variety, Very good food

Cons: service

Great vegan options

We had a wonderful Carmo salad (they were out of vegan ham, tho). Also had one of the daily soup specials and the Peruvian Bowl. A real treat was the Brazilian cheese bread. Pretty sure it was made with Daiya. Good option for a vegan lunch in the warehouse district!

Pros: Lots of veg options, Delicious food

interesting, unusual delicious food!!

Visiting from the UK my meat eating hubby and I visited twice. Firstly for dinner I had a Trinidadian curry which was delicious, full table service. Secondly we visited for lunch which is order at till and I had an Angolan stew dish. Both vegan dishes I had were amazing and meat eating hubby said they were far nicer than his ha ha. I love how they are so laid back about veganising almost everything on the menu and would thoroughly recommend [censored]

Great Eclectic Food & Atmosphere

Plenty of options, great food. Loved the music and vibe. I had the broken noodle salad and banquette bread. Salad was awesome, bread was good but not as good. Would love to come back because they had other great looking vegan options.

the most vegan-friendly non-vegan place

Dinner here when in town for a conference. Was prepared to have trouble finding vegan options here but this place was great. Even vegan desserts! Service was a bit slow but maybe that’s a southern thing?

Had the vegan ceviche, small Carmo salad and chocolate cake with pecans for dessert. Lots of fun cocktails as well.

Very Tasty & Many Vegan Options

This place is great. Best food we had in New Orleans during our stay. The atmosphere is very nice in a casual but classy way. Cocktails were excellent. Heirloom tomato salad was excellent. Cambodian sour soup a little too sweet but otherwise good. My wife is not vegan and had shrimp. I had a plantain and fake beef dish which I loved. They also have tasty vegan cakes for desert.

If you are a vegan you need to go!

RICO is the way to go

Our Airbnb was right down the block from this place and I wish we discovered it sooner! Most options can be made vegan. I got their entree of the day which was red beans, rice, veggies and vegan sausage - it was really good. I also ordered their vegan Brazilian Cheese bites and they were so good!

My boyfriend got the Rico made vegan, and let me say - GET IT. It was one of best meals of our whole trip. We also got the Caribbean banana cake topped with some Vanilla Rice Cream which was also incredible. You won't be disappointed!

Super delicious!

I would love to give 5 stars. Unfortunately, happy cow only allows max. 4 stars for non-vegetarian restaurants.
However, the restaurant is fabulous! The food is so great! Although it serves meat, most dishes have vegetarian and vegan options, which aren't just "alternatives". They taste awesome! We also had desert and a smash. Best restaurant we've ever been in the states (until now).

Pros: a lot of vegetarian and vegan meals and options

Great Flavors, Tons of Options

We had really amazing food. They have many world flavors. Our waitress kindly pointed out all of the vegan and gluten-free options, and there were a ton. I really recommend eating here!
