Lucky find - Edit
After seeing Elizabeth’s sign from the DC design center window across the street, we checked online for vegan options. We were delighted to find it was a vegan restaurant and with early reservation still available! None of the experience disappointed. The greeting at the door by the owner, the ambiance, the service and the amazingly creative prix fix menu that evening. The presentation and the flavors were beyond creative, and as delicious as they looked. We will make it a point to return next time we come to town.

Good food, could've done better - Edit
The soup served was cold. The vegan cavier was okay. The tapioca chips on the dessert was not that great. Everything else was great.

Beyond our expectations - Edit
We dined there on a Saturday evening to celebrate our anniversary. Everything went beyond our expectations. The ambiance was beautiful, the food was delicious, with creative ingredients, and beautifully prepared and presented, the service was top notch - while it is pricey, it's worth it. I highly recommend Elizabeth's, especially if you are looking for a nice evening out or to celebrate a special occasion. It's a fixed price menu, with a couple add ons. We tried the vegan cheese plate and a couple drinks, and so glad we did.

The whole package of fine vegan dining - Edit
The restaurant is in a beautiful townhouse with many portraits from the 18th and 19th centuries hung throughout the dining and entrance areas. When we asked about the art, Elizabeth, who was on the floor greeting guests, gave us some interesting info.
Read moreThe staff was very cordial, the pace of the food service was just right, and the quality of each dish was excellent. We were there to celebrate a graduation and it became a perfect night for us. Highly recommended, especially if you’re looking for a place for a special occasion.

Amazing unique experience - Edit
Every dish clearly had so much thought and technique put into it. The early courses are are on the small "tasting" side and I def wish I could have more of them especially the "smoked salmon" one, but they later courses become more normal sized portions so that you're full by the end.
Read moreWe also had the Cheese platter which was worth sharing among 4 at $40 but the only thing that really stood out was the fig jam. The cheeses are made in house we're told but they all were really mild flavored. I'd even recommend savoring them without the provided crackers/plantains, though the plaintains do add some salt.
If you go just for the prix fixe menu it's probably going to run you $150 with tax/tip, given how much even fast food vegan is now, that's not far off from several burgers.
It was also nice to see Elizabeth working the floor to the point that she removed dirty dishes from our table and we weren't quite sure if that was her or not :)
Pros: Unique dishes, great technique

An amazing experience. We went on a Saturday evening. The offering was the vegan tasting menu. The food is exceptional as it was beautiful. The atmosphere was lovely. To the staff, sommelier and Elizabeth herself, everyone was so kind and accommodating to our needs. DC’s finest vegan dining.

The Finest Dining Experience! - Edit
The six course meal was like nothing we had ever experienced. Well planned coursing, delicious flavor, beautifully presented. Quite expensive but if able, this would be the the time to splurge for a special occasion. It may have exhibited pretention, but the staff made us feel welcome and the food delivered a unique dining experiece. Vedge in Philly is the only other Vegan restaurant that can compare to this one. Many thanks to the thoughtful staff.

Actually Worth It - Edit
I usually regret doing high dollar things for myself like this, but as far as high end vegan goes... this one is actually worth it if you can afford it for a special occasion. I had not 1, but 2 of the most mind blowing dishes of my life here. In a single night.

An Ethical Lab Grown Culinary Gem in DC! - Edit
Elizabeth's Gone Raw is a culinary gem in DC! The food and wine pairing experience was absolutely exquisite. Each dish was a work of art, narrating a story through its vibrant flavors and textures. The wines elegantly danced with the dishes, enhancing every bite. The service was top-notch, although we had to have our table physically moved a couple of times due to our initial seating against the wall. Despite that minor inconvenience, Elizabeth's Gone Raw remains a must-visit for its exceptional storytelling through food and outstanding service. A 5-star experience!

Food as an artful experience - Edit
Not just any fancy meal, this is food as an artful experience! In the past, whenever I came across deep descriptions about a transformative and mind-blowing dining experience, I'd think okay.. sure, but how is that possible? I thought I must not have the tastebuds or imagination for that type of thing. But after eating here, I completely agree with the assessment that their food has the ability to "transport you back in time to a memory or specific moment." The way they present the ingredients can really evoke memories through your senses. It's easily worth the $105 per person.
Read moreThe staff at Elizabeth's Gone Raw are highly skilled. They maintain the perfect balance of professionalism and lightheartedness, making for a non-judgemental and exciting environment. They're intentional and knowledgeable, synchronized in their work. Placing dishes down at the same time for everyone at your table, lifting the glass off your plates at the same time. When an aromatic smoke pours out from the glasses they lift up, it hits everyone's senses at the same time.. They really do a great job and pay attention to all the fine details.
Eating the meal in the way they suggest really contributes to the positive experience. They tell you about trying certain things first alone, they explain their ingredients and certain methods, and they communicate intention. Multiple times throughout this meal, not only was it some of the best food I've had, but I kept saying to myself, "How did they think of this!?" Very creative combinations and transitions.

Yes 😄 If you come here, definitely aim for the prix fixe if possible. This current menu is genuinely fantastic. But also at the bar you can come and just order the cheese platter. And that cheese is INCREDIBLE
