loads of bagel options and 3 choices for tofu cream cheese 🥯 i went for a toasted everything bagel with the vegetable tofu spread. the menu online has 8 tofu spread options, but in the restaurant there was only 3? not sure why. the bagel tasted great, portion size was huge and it was very filling. they also have dairy free alternatives for drinks. i would like to see more vegan spread options!

Really good NYC bagel. Plain bagel with tofu scallion. It kept me full all day and I loved the dense texture of the bagel and the flavor of the tofu scallion.

Their bagels are warm and fresh. The scallion tofu cream cheese is also fresh. It tastes like the scallions were just picked from the garden!

Bagel hype - Edit
This was the third bagel location I went to because the two other ones had queues that went all the way outside of the shops. The bagel was nice and all, but I just cannot understand the hype around them.

Nicer looking location, but the bagels tasted better at the original location to me. I also think there were less tofu cream cheese options offered here, but I have not been to the other location for a while.

I asked my friends where their favorite bagels were in NYC and they recommended Ess-a-bagel. I tried the whole wheat everything with tofu scallion shmear. It was pretty good, too much salt for my taste but that’s the cost of an everything bagel. You get everything. Not sure if I would come out of my way to come here when good bagels are so easy to find.

When I went there were 3 vegan cream cheese options; tofu, scallion and vegetable. The place was rlly busy so the bagel was cold by the time I got it. The tofu cream cheese was decent but the flavor got a little too much after a while.

Warm, fresh, NYC bagels from a bagel shop are delicious, especially when they have a smear of (vegan) tofu cream cheese. This is not a healthy meal--but does every meal need to be healthy? Ess-a-Bagel--which is near Penn Station/Madison Square Garden--is one of the many excellent bagel places in NYC. NYC tourists will no doubt be wowed by a place like this. Being a native, however, I might be a bit jaded, since I know that good a bagel store that offers tofu cream cheese is not unusual for Manhattan.

Lots of options for vegan cream cheese. I got a salt bagel (asked for it toasted but didn’t come that way, not sure if they have a toaster or not) with tofu scallion cream cheese. Bagel was large but not the best bagel I’ve had. My sister got vegan olive cream cheese which wasn’t bad either.
