Excellent noodles

We ate at the branch on 1st Avenue and loved it. The cucumber and peanut salad and the daikon with jalapeño were great but the spicy mushroom noodles were superb. A deep umami broth with spice and perfectly cooked noodles, mushroom and spring onions/scallions. Highly recommend.

Wonderful

Excellent spicy mushroom ramen packed with flavor (miso, chili, peas, noodles, greens). Crispy potatoes app was also flavorful and delicious even without the dipping sauce (staff says it contains fish or dairy, can't remember which). We did not get the shiitake buns because the staff told us it contained dairy. Hoping this place starts to offer more vegan options!

More Caramelized Shiitake Buns, Please!

With a casual and welcoming feel, we sat at a table for two near the prep bar. Our waiter, Luis G. was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. I let him know I was vegan and he walked me through every option and possible modification, giving me a nice selection to choose from. Superior service from Luis G.

For my beverage, I ordered the Yuzu Lemonade. It had just the right combination of sweetness and tartness and was refreshing and delicious to the last sip.

For my appetizer, I ordered Caramelized Shiitake Buns. With the first bite, my tastebuds began to celebrate. The flavors were exploding in my mouth and I was near tears as I acknowledge that this was by far the best food creation I had ever eaten. These are a must! *Ask for NO TARO or they are not Vegan.

For my main course, I ordered Mushroom Ramen. It was flavorful and had just the right amount of spice. So good!

David Cheng is a master of flavor. I have enjoyed his ramen sold at Whole Foods and had the opportunity to dine at one of his other NYC restaurants that closed due to the pandemic. His recipes/creations are always delicious!

Pros: Vegan Options that are delicious and flavorful, Fresh ingredients, Slurping acceptable😄
